SEE YOU IN MY 19TH LIFE
GENRES: Romance, Comedy, Drama
SUMMARY: When you're nineteen lives in and finally find someone to fight for, you'll stop at nothing for their happiness.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Childhood bliss, childhood trauma, gorgeous gardens, ugly-cry worthy heartbreak, fast cars, unforgivable siblings, hotel glamor, past-life nightmares, shaman bells, braised kimchi, swimming pools, crybaby sisters, flamenco self-defense, romantic guilt, Spanish stew, cringeworthy chaebols, and Lotte World.
HOT TAKE: This show is 100% worth the watch, despite the fact that I cried at least once every episode (and I'm pretty sure I'm not in the minority of viewers when I say that).
Every actor in this show gives their all to illustrate the deep grief and longing that keep them all together. The exterior locations are breathtaking and compliment the beauty and pain that keeps you watching throughout the season.
I say this with the upmost confidence: There is no one on television right now that can make me instantly smile/instantly weep like Cha Chung Hwa.

YOUTH MT // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb: 8,8 Benim Puanım: 9
Love in the Moonlight Team:
Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Jung Jin-young, Kwak Dong-yeon, Chae Soo-bin
Itaewon Class Team:
Park Seo-joon, Ahn Bo-hyun, Kwon Nara, Ryu Kyung-soo, Lee Joo-young
The Sound of Magic Team:
Ji Chang-wook, Choi Sung-eun, Hwang In-youp, Ji Hye-won, Kim Bo-yoon
Üç farklı dizinin oyuncularının bir araya getirildiği bir Variety show’du. Love in the Moonlight , Itaewon Class, The Sound of Magic dizilerinin sevilen karakterlerini doğal halleri ile izlemek çok keyifliydi.
Kwak Dong-yeon, my brother… Vincenzo dizisinden beri benim için onun adı “brother”.  Show boyunca sergilediği sımsıcak tavrı ve heyecanı görülmeye değerdi.
Herkesten çekinip, her şeyden utanıyordu.

Is anyone else getting confused???
Imma put it on hold for now. It's getting too confusing for me to keep up with one week in between. I have to watch it in one sitting. 😩
It was so promising and swooonworthy, but now I can not handle it. We have come to that time in the series where i have to park it, i will pick it up at the end of the month.
Respectfully 😁

Happy Ending for these two, after the drama drank gallons of my blood.
Tumblr media
I am so relieved, I don't even care about the fact that he's got amnesia TWICE (I wonder if initial bout was due to extension) or the fact that surely the survivors of the army sent to take him down would have given away to someone in authority that Yeon Jun basically let him get away (or that Gil Chae seems to have forgotten about her mad father and little brother utterly.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This writer does have a (welcome to me) tendency to go for happy endings that may not be realistic but feel welcome in fictional contexts. Rebel was a marvel of a drama but its very happy ending felt incredibly unrealistic - the horrifying ending of Hong Sisters' Hong Gil Dong felt a lot more likely for that type of story. And the same is true here - a tragic ending would have been a lot more likely. But being spared this feels wonderful. (And now we know what those voiceovers are about - it's her telling him about their past, so at to help fill memory gaps.)
Tumblr media
Ultimately, this drama had its flaws unlike e.g., Chuno, which for me was flawless, but most of it was amazing, amazing, amazing.
Tumblr media
A couple of non-ship things I loved: the resolution of Yeon Jun's story. I know most people didn't like his character and I can't say I'd want him as a friend or a family member, but it was a fascinating arc for someone who was a lot more in line with a "proper" aristocrat of his time, and honestly his story would have made a fascinating 19th century psychological novel. He has finally learned to see grey and go against the norms and it almost drove him to kill himself and - it was a very interesting character and story to me. But oh boy, did Gil Chae dodge a bullet in switching her affections back way when!
Tumblr media
The story with Jang Hyun's father was exactly as expected and yet I was still taken aback by the petty horror of it all. The old man killed his whole family (or so he thought) for illusory fame and when given a chance to redo, chose to do the same thing again. Realistic. And none of it even made him happy - hence the suicide - but illusions of what he is to the rest must be maintained. JH's face as he said he now knows the most precious thing to the old man wasn't him.
Tumblr media
You know what made me cackle in demented glee? Injo's end. Calling for the son he ruined, whose death he caused, whose loved ones he exterminated (his wife, his sons, the people the prince cared for.) Interesting parallel with the Crown Princess' death btw - when she calls for So Hyun, she sees him come for her and there is light and peace. Injo's calls are unanswered and there is no light just darkness. The tragedy is that he actually loved his son as much as a monster like him could. It just wasn't any salvation to anyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just as Jang Hyun's father, he chose terror and "reputation" over his own child and their punishment is to die in despair, alone.
In conclusion, this was an amazing drama, with amazing performances, and only narrowly misses being my favorite kdrama of 2023 (and if either GK War or Moon in the Day implode, might still win.)
ETA: loved that they didn't end back in her hometown, because they didn't need to. They are each other's hometown, are they not?

Queen of Tears (2024)
Tumblr media
On the surface this seems like just an ordinary romantic drama with an interesting premise. It turned out to be a master class in acting, editing, cinematography and (even) writing. I loved these characters and was genuinely sad to see it end.
What Worked
The two leads were amazing. Kim Soo-Hyun put in his best performance so far, and Kim Ji-Won did an excellent job making you like a character that was written to be cold and unlikeable. I'd say it was her best role, but you know My Liberation Notes was still better.
The rest of the cast was great too. Park Sung-hoon was great at playing the villain and making him both sympathetic and contemptible. Kwak Dong-yeon did an excellent job at turning the biggest idiot kid brother into someone you were cheering for at the end.
This drama, more than most, also did a standout job of using editing and film work to help set the mood for the story.
What Didn't Work
This show is as close to flawless as you can get. There are things that I wish they'd done differently, but those are more about taste than quality, because the show was excellent.
The Performances
The cast was excellent across the board. I've already mentioned the two leads. I could probably go through and say something nice about each actor, but that would be way too long. There were a few actors that were new to me that especially liked watching.
Yoon Bo-mi as "Secretary Bestie" Na Chae-yeo. This actor did an excellent job of grounding the scene and making Kim Ji-won's character more human and likable. She was also very funny on her own.
Lee Mi-sook as "Worst Mother Ever" Moh Seul-hee. The show didn't do much to explain the whys of her character, but Lee Mi-sook was so interesting to watch, that I mostly didn't care. Really good performance overall.
Kim Jung-nan as "Fighter Auntie" Hong Beom-ja. I had a hard time taking this character seriously at first, but the actor did a great job of showing you how much Beom-ja cared about her family, which made me start to care about the character. Alot of fun to watch (even if they should have given her a proper loveline at the end).
Jeon Bae-soo and Hwang Young-hee as "World's Best Parents (2024)." It would be hard to make Hyun-woo's parents unlikeable, since they get to be the moral center of the show in some ways, but it was also important to make them interesting in a cast of over the top characters. The actors did a good job with that, and I really enjoyed watching them play off the rest of the cast.
TL; DR:
If you like K-dramas you've probably already seen this. That being said, I like K-dramas and I still haven't watched this writer's other big hit Crash Landing on You, so it YMMV. Bottom line: it's your precious little life, choose wisely.

Hey, am here to request a smc (school meal club) sneaking around after there bed time to play the new game mina had gotten (you can choose the game) and there cg 2yeon find them and turns off the game and take them back to bed and puts a ban on the console for a week as a punishment (idk if that last part breaks any of your request rules if it does then you can skip that part)
Hiii this is completely fine it doesn't go against any of my request rules.

Warnings: Slight yelling?
Video games
What was meant to be a quiet night throughout the dorm changed to hushed whispers and the tiptoeing of a certain trio who were meant to be asleep. But it's not their fault that Mina had recently got the newest Mario Kart game. "Hey Chae, Tzu be quiet I don't want Mama and Mommy waking up 'cause of you guys movin' too loudly." Dahyun complained and as the self proclaimed leader of the School Meal Club and as the oldest amongst the three of them she doesn't want all of the blame to be put on her. "'m sorry dubs, just excited to play Mario" Chaeyoung whispered back which made Tzuyu nod her head in agreement.
And with that the trio quietly snuck into the living room, clearly not taking into account how close they were to Nayeon and Jeongyeon's room. "Hurry up 'Hyun I wanna play!" Tzuyu whispered to Dahyun, who simply brushed her off and put on the PlayStation, Tzuyu then went to take the controller but Dahyun was quicker. "'m the oldest so I go first." Dahyun made up the rule at the last second, because she wanted to be first. This caused both Chaeyoung and Tzuyu to roll their eyes but they didn't argue.
After 15 minutes Dahyun wasn't willing to give the other two their go at the game. "Dubs it's my turn!" Chaeyoung whined whilst trying to take the controller out of Dahyun's hands. "Ye Hyun share!" Tzuyu yelled at Dahyun and she was also trying to take the controller out of Dahyun's hands. "No! I'm still playing, see!" Dahyun points to the screen to show that she was in a game.
Whilst the three of them argued, Nayeon and Jeongyeon woke up because of the noise when they went outside of their room and spotted the trio arguing a disappointed look appeared on their faces. "I'm going to turn off that console completely" Nayeon whispered to Jeongyeon as she quietly went to the plug outlet and took the plug out of the socket, shutting off the PlayStation completely. Jeongyeon walked in the middle of the room, alongside Nayeon after a couple of seconds, and looked at Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu with her arms crossed until they noticed them. A few moments later, when Dahyun went to go play again she looked up and saw her mama and mommy which made her angry face immediately turn into one of shock. "Mama, mommy it's not my fault-" Dahyun rushed out before she was interrupted by Jeongyeon "It doesn't matter who's fault it is. What does matter is why are you three up way past your bedtime?!" None of them responded and they hung their heads in shame.
"I think we should not let them have access to any consoles for a whole week after this. Don't you agree, Jeong?" Nayeon suggested with a smug grin. "Yes I think that's a fair punishment, Nayeon" Jeongyeon agreed and nodded her head. Before any of the SMC could argue or disagree with the ban, they were met with a glare from both Nayeon and Jeongyeon as if to say 'We can and will extend the time if you try anything.' So after that they all went back to their rooms but not after a hug and apology from Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.
They now know that they shouldn't play video games late at night especially if it would wake up their Mama and Mommy.
Thanks for the request I enjoyed writing it :).
I hope you guys have/had a great day!!

I opened Hulu to get back to "Flex X Cop*," but instead I got distracted by "Crash," a Korean series ALSO featuring an outsider joining a team of cops. The odd man out in this case is Cha Yeon Ho (Lee Min Ki), an insurance investigator who crosses paths with the Traffic Crimes Investigation team while checking out suspicious accident settlements. One reluctant partnership and 12 months later, Yeon Ho becomes a police officer through a special recruitment program and joins the team led by Capt. Jung Chae Man (Heo Sung Tae) and Lt. Min So Hee.
The captain struck me as kinda hapless at first, but subsequent episodes have shown some very interesting layers. So Hee, like a lot of characters Kwak Sun Young plays, is rather brash but has a heart of gold. Dong Ki, an auto expert, and Hyun Kyung, the maknae with terrific martial arts skills, round up the gang.
The first several episodes focused on cases of the week but also set up an overarching mystery. You see, Yeon Ho was involved in a crash 10 years ago when he was still in college. He allegedly struck and killed newlyweds. The wife was pregnant. He was grilled by police and immediately labeled as a murderer. He's so guilt ridden that he still visits the wife's ashes at the columbarium even when her own dad, a former cop, tells him he's done enough already. It was very interesting that when they showed the photo of the woman, they never showed the face of her husband. Hmmmm ...
Tumblr media
I really enjoy the camaraderie of the team. They might have found Yeon Ho a bit strange (he's become withdrawn since the crash that he's become almost like a robot) but they gave him space to find his footing. My heart absolutely melted when So Hee told him she's teaching him martial arts not to catch the bad guy but so he could defend himself and stop getting hurt so much!
The action sequences are quite fantastic (not a surprise when you have the director from "Taxi Driver"). You have the usual infuriating bad guys who wield their power and connections to get out of heinous crimes, but you also have the desperate people driven to action by the incompetence and ineffectiveness of law enforcement.
There are only a couple of episodes left and I'm already wishing they'd do a second season. Because I can't get enough of this smart and capable Traffic Crimes Investigation team.
*I haven't gone back to watch "Flex X Cop"

See You In My 19th Life Thoughts
I have seen all the episodes that have come out (6ep) for now and just wanted to share it as a person who also read the webtoon for years.
I do not mind small changes, like Chae Won being a florist (she just works in the office in the webtoon), however, I feel like the bigger ones are so unnecessary to the story especially when there is enough drama to go through.
♥ The first bigger change was, of course, the stepmom, I don’t know what she’s doing here and I do not really enjoy how they portrayed Seo Ha’s father. Yes, he is a mean and coldhearted CEO but he still loved Seo Ha’s mother. There are valid reasons why Seo Ha dislikes him so I don’t know how much we needed stepmom whom everyone hates.
I think the webtoon showed better the distance between son and father. A father who’s a workaholic and will risk anything for his company and a son who is grieving his friend’s death after a long time has passed.
♥ The second thing that I do not like is how if you tell someone that you met in your past life they become sick. I hope they get rid of this idea and we will not go into unneeded drama, again, there is enough.
♥ Rather than disliking it, I’m more curious about the woman who goes around with Min Ki. Min Ki was in the webtoon but I’m not sure what they will do with the woman. I suspect that she’s Seo Ha’s mother but knowing the reason why Ji Eum keeps reincarnating it seems... Interesting... To say the least.
♥ I’m sorry but I do not feel any chemistry between Ji Eum and Seo Ha. Maybe it’s me just having a hard time still seeing Ahn Bo Hyun as Seo Ha but I just do not ship them. They do have moments but I don’t really care much about them. Cho Won and Do Yoon stole my heart though. I wasn’t sure about Ahn Dong Woo as Do Yoon but he’s nailing it and I enjoy every second of them.
I’m curious how they will do things... I do feel that some things are rushed but I get it it’s 12 episodes only. I also do know that in adaptations they will try to put a new spin-off of some things, I do not think it’s always necessary, and it’s not always a good thing.
