Hiya, I like your blog and your overall style. What music do you listen to?
Hey there! Thank you so much!! This is such a good question, and a hard one to answer at that. Good job ;)
I listen to a little bit of anything and everything. For context, I grew up in the deep south and lived in a jazz city for some time, so... some of these things are not like the other (lol).
Hozier, Sleeping At Last, and Richy Mitch & The Coalminers are my all-time favorite music artists.
Indie folk/rock, like forest ranger in the mountains vibe, this is definitely my biggest category (Hozier, The Paper Kites, Fleet Foxes, Richy Mitch & The Coalminers, Lord Huron, Gregory Alan Isakov, Caamp)
Calm indie alternative in a poetry-writing and introspective mood (Sleeping At Last, John Vincent III, Novo Amor, Amber Run, Radical Face, Daughter)
Alternative rock/indie alternative rock (flipturn, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Florence & The Machine, Fleetwood Mac, The Orion Experience, alt-j, Greta Van Fleet)
Modern-pop or 2000s pop (MARINA, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Lady Gaga, Glass Animals, BøRNS, Fall Out Boy, Lorde, Chappell Roan, Macklemore, Pitbull, Rihannna)
Folk country or bluegrass (Watchhouse, Jimmy Buffett, Zac Brown Band, Johnny Cash, Zach Bryan, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers)
Female rage and hyper-pop mania vibes (also MARINA, Paris Paloma, Olivia Rodrigo, Mother Mother, AURORA, The Crane Wives, Grimes)
"I grew up in jazz culture" (Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, Sonny Rollins, Caro Emerald, Miles Davis, Weather Report)
2000-2010s radio EDM/Dance (Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Caravan Palace, Axwell, Empire of the Sun, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia)
Orchestral or soundtrack for when I'm writing in my fantasy series (John Powell, Woodkid, The Amazing Devil, Hans Zimmer, Two Steps from Hell, The Oh Hellos, Cody Fry, The Family Crest)
60s/70s/80s pop bops (ABBA, Elton John, Queen, Franki Valli & The Four Seasons, Indigo Girls, Glen Campbell, The Dream Academy, Bob Dylan, The Cranberries)

Merovingian Dynasty
The Merovingian Dynasty was the ruling family of the Franks from roughly 481 when Clovis I ascended the throne of the Salian Franks until 751 when Childeric III was deposed and the Merovingians were supplanted by the Carolingian Dynasty as kings of Francia. The Merovingians established the largest and most powerful realm in western Europe, solidifying the Franks' dominance.

character info sheet.
name.
Coyote Menendez
name meaning.
A name chosen on a whim, there is a lot of symbolism that turned out to be attached to it. Coyotes are seen as cowardly pests by some, an honorable animal to be revered by others. They're intelligent tricksters and symbols of sexuality within their cultural background. That's something that deeply resonates with them.
alias( ses ).
They've had a few, though they're usually throwaways that they promptly forget.
two pictures you like of your character.
three headcanons you never told anyone.
i : During their life as a human, Coyote had a crush on a coworker of theirs named Morris. They were often frustrated with his spinelessness, despite this they constantly defended him. Nothing ever came of their feelings anyways.
ii : Coyote never acknowledged their queerness until they became a vampire. They'd feel things, both in terms of sexuality and gender, and push it down so as to not have to grapple with it. This probably only contributed to their misery.
iii : Coyote was a bowlcut baby. Lmao.
three things your character likes to do in their free time.
i : People watching
ii : Journaling about feeding
iii : Stealing street signs with Morgan.
three people your character loves.
Morgan O'Broin - He's their muscle, rock, partner in crime, and confidant. There's a mutual understanding between them that I don't think Coyote's had with anybody else. Their friendship is so sincere, funny, and loving in an unorthodox way. They love grossing him out with dirty jokes, he loves physically pestering them. Coyote considered his friendship one of the greatest instances of luck they've experiences.
Agape Dacosta - She was one of Hugh's Childer and his wife. Being older, she often looked over Coyote and was the one of the only ones to calm them down during their rages and panics. She was more Sire to Coyote than Hugh was, teaching them ways of hunting and Auspex where he'd refuse. They haven't seen each other since Coyote was kicked out. She's since run away from Hugh, but Coyote's affection for her remains. They keep her in their prayers.
Themselves - Something of a cop out, I know, but they really mean it when they say it. Coyote's human life was a long series of self loathing, denying themselves identity and joy for fear it wouldn't last. Eternity lies before them, but now they know who they are and what they're meant to do. This new existence, this new skin, this new perspective, they're so fucking in love with it. They can face themselves and smile about it. They'll never let anybody rob them of this love.
two things your character regrets.
i. Coyote occasionally finds themselves regretting getting involved with Hugh. Admittedly, the first time they met him, they knew something was off about him but they ignored the feeling. They've grown almost comfortable with vampirism, but the way that it happened to them and how they were treated afterwards is a different story. If they could've chosen to be Embraced by somebody else, they would.
ii: There was a girl who died. Coyote and their Coterie didn't kill her but they led her to her death. Being so caught up in trying to complete tasks for somebody else, they didn't say anything when they had the chance to. They didn't want to disappoint. But the manner of that girl's death haunts them. It wasn't a clean or short one. She died twice.
three phobia's your character has.
i. Fire. Small flames are nothing, but full-sized blazes are another story.
ii. Losing control. They don't want to face catatonia ever again.
iii. Failure. Losing everything they're worked for would set them over the edge.

*falls to the ground* Cochise III?!?! wip game?!
TRAMAMPOLINE. TRAMBOPOLINE
I'm rubbing my hands together like a villian.
They fucks nasty in this one and Eddie cries.
This chapter is really going to get into Eddie's grief and what he's running away from, as well as letting Nellie start to process some of her own grief dug up by the death of Marshall Milt Kilmer. There's going to be a few new characters introduced and were going to start drawing some big ugly grief parallels. I have a song for this that I will share with you before I shut my mouth completely.
Also, theres a piano involved okay byyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeee

The 39 Best Albums of 2022 For Real
Can’t believe I’ve been doing this for a decade now, loving it. (See previous lists down low.)
No particular order this year, other than the top ones being my most played new releases.
For me this’ll be the year that I finally saw The War on Drugs ... twice! Double the live Drugs!
They didn’t put out a new record in ‘22; that’ll have to wait until like ‘25, at their pace. They did put out some killer B-sides, though.
And we still have all of this to enjoy. Give me a shout if I missed something you think I’d like ...

Childeric III, born around 714 and died around 755, was king of the Franks, Neustria, Burgundy and Austrasia from 743 to 751.
Although his parentage is not known, he is considered the last reigning member of the Merovingian dynasty.

I. 4, 8 II. 6, 8 III. 7, 9, 11 IV. 2, 7, Malkavians, Brujah, Nosferatu
Which Predator type do they most align with and why?
The Alleycat predator type is really the closest I could get to categorizing her preferred predation methods. She prefers a more direct, combat orientated approach to hunting with no cloak and daggers nonsense, and she feels that is one of the few ways to go about her organovore-specific dietary needs in a ‘moral’ fashion, since she can no longer sustain herself on animals or rotting body parts.
Calypso has a very specific preferred type of prey ━ the strong and oppressive. Be they abusive partners or violent rabble, she uses her investigative skills to sniff them out and hunt them down, then challenge them directly. She’ll even go as far as to give herself certain handicaps to level the playing field and make things at least somewhat fair. If she wins, she rips their heart out of their chest and devours it. If she loses (VERY unlikely given her level of physical prowess, but it sometimes happens), they live to see another day. She’ll give chase the next day, certainly, but for the night they’re free to go.
Who are their Touchstones, if any?
Wade Estrada and Maxine Sullivan, the adult son of one of her past victims and a little girl who lives near her haven respectively, both of which she has more of a parasocial relationship with rather than anything direct. A part of her is afraid that having them even be mildly associated with her could put them in danger, considering she IS Red Listed by the Camarilla and has her fair share of adversaries.
What were their goals and ambitions in life? How has this changed?
Calypso... didn’t have much of a life when she was still a living, breathing mortal. She spent most of her days locked away in the attic, and at most her goals tended to be ‘don’t piss off Mom today.’ Now that she’s free, her goals have changed drastically. If anything, she strives to purposefully piss off authority figures and live her unlife to its fullest, indulging herself with all of life’s pleasures that she was previously forbidden from partaking in.
When they were Embraced, what was the aftermath like? Did they fake their death, do their loved ones think they went missing, etc.?
Honestly, there really wasn’t much to it. She was embraced on the streets of England after escaping from her home, destitute and about to starve if her typhoid fever didn’t kill her first. There was no need to stage anything, and those of the Giovanni family who were still searching for her would eventually simply come to the conclusion that she had died somewhere out there and ceased their efforts within the first few years of her disappearance.
Have they Embraced anyone? Ghouled anyone?
She’s embraced two childer since her own embrace, one who was in a situation much like her own and another who could use the power to exact his vengeance. She loves them both dearly, though they have fallen out of touch over the years.
As a principle, Calypso doesn’t ghoul humans. She HAS ghouled animals, though, and currently has three Dobermans, one Japanese Chin and one Bengal tiger as thralls.
What’s their haven like?
A sprawling mansion-style abode with a large backyard and far enough away from the big city for her pets to go apeshit on, taking major inspiration from the Kyu-Furukawa Gardens. It’s got a secret little underground area where she prefers to get her daysleep, reducing the chances of coming anywhere near sunlight ones the sun rises.
May or may not have gotten the deed to it via extortion.
How do they feel about Diablerie?
Mmmmmmm fellow elder blood slurprppreppeprpprprpr MMMMMMMMMMMMM. Preferable to consuming kine in some cases.
What do they think about the Anarch movement?
FAR more tolerable than the Camarilla, but not without their flaws. She definitely thinks they need to stop upholding the Masquerade as strongly as they do, could use less Barons, and should stop being so concerned about being seen as ‘thugs’ or what have you when there are far more pressing matters.
What do they think about the Garou?
Sympathetic, for the most part. She’s empathetic to their efforts of staving off the inevitable apocalypse as well as their admirable loyalty to Gaia, even if she usually isn’t tolerated among them for very long due to her kinda-sorta low humanity levels and thus a perceivable amount of Wyrm taint. Their tendency to attack first and ask questions later when it comes to Kindred or even some kine is... irritating, though, to say the least.
What do they think about Clan Malkavian?
Fairly neutral, though endlessly curious. The Cobweb/Madness Network and the stories of Malkav himself in particular are so, so interesting. Finds them more funny or even incomparably insightful than scary or creepy.
What do they think about Clan Brujah?
Blood siblings in arms, at least until proven otherwise. She’s very loyal to her clan as a whole and will absolutely stick up for even strangers belonging to it out of principle. However... they can definitely do without the infighting and that weird branch of the self proclaimed “True Brujah” who kiss the toes of their Antediluvian.
What do they think about Clan Nosferatu?
SO fucking COOL. Their own breed of unflinching clan loyalty to one another as well as their ironclad tenacity to survive even among the shallow ire other Kindred is inspirational and inherently respectable. She’d prefer their company of even the most Camarilla-loyal of them over the company of a Toreador any day.

Memorial Day 2024
May 24, 2024
Coming up on Monday is Memorial Day when we honor those military heroes who gave their full measure for the United States of America. Today we will highlight eight people, the first soldier, sailor, marine or airman to give their life during each of America’s major wars.
Revolutionary War:
Isaac Davis (April 19, 1775) a gunsmith from Action, Massachusetts, served as a minuteman during the Battle of Concord and was shot through the heart as his company advanced upon the enemy.
Civil War
Colonel Elmer E. Ellsworth (May 24, 1861) a Union officer leading his troops into Alexandria, Virginia to assist in the occupation of the city, the day after the state’s citizens voted to secede from the Union. In the city, while taking down a Confederate flag, he was shot point blank by an innkeeper.
World War I
Joseph William Guyton (May 24, 1918) was attached to the 32nd Infantry Division in a German-held area of France and served as an automatic gunner, firing off intermittent rounds on a post near the line of resistance. The enemy shot a barrage of machine gun fire into the line where Guyton was struck and killed instantly.
World War II
Robert M. Losey (April 21, 1940) a captain in the Navy, was serving as an air attache’ in Finland when Germany invaded Oslo. Losey and his chauffeur were assisting in the evacuation of American staff and dependents from the United States Embassy. Losey was killed when a bomb exploded nearby and a fragment pierced his heart.
Korean War
Kenneth Shadrick (July 5, 1950) was assigned to the 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, serving as an ammunition carrier in a bazooka squad sent to stop communist tanks near Sejong, South Korea. As he aimed a rocket at an enemy tank, he stuck his head and shoulders above the gun pit to watch; the tank’s machine gun returned fire, sending one bullet through his right arm, another through his chest, killing him instantly.
Vietnam War
Richard B. Fitzgibbon, Jr. (June 8, 1956) was a member of Detachment 1, 1173rd Foreign Mission Squadron, United States Air Force. Fitzgibbon was not killed in action, but murdered by a deranged American airman who shot him as he was handing out candy to local orphans in Saigon. He and his son, Richard B. Fitzgibbon, III, are also known as one of three father-son duos killed while serving during the Vietnam War. Acknowledgement of Fitzgibbon’s death as the first casualty of the Vietnam War did not come until 1999.
Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan
Johnny Michael “Mike” Spann (November 25, 2001) was serving in the CIA’s paramilitary Special Activities Division, having previously served in the Marine Corps as a captain. Spann was dispatched to Afghanistan soon after September 11, 2001, to find Osama bin Laden. Near Mazar-e-Sharif, the CIA was holding al Qaeda fighters in the recently captured fortress of Qala-i-Jangi. Spann was killed while interrogating Taliban fighters, in particular, American Taliban John Walker Lindh. Spann was attacked when the Taliban fighters launched themselves at Spann, who took out seven men with his pistol before being killed. Spann is now memorialized with a star on the CIA Memorial Wall at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
Operation Iraqi Freedom
Therrell Shane Childers (March 21, 2003) served as a second lieutenant Marine Corps assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division – one of the first cleared units to enter Iraq. After the battalion secured a pumping station at the Rumaila oil fields, 20 miles north of the border with Kuwait, Iraqi soldiers unloaded from a pick-up truck and in a drive-by, Childers was shot once in the stomach. The injury became fatal when his motion to fire at those in the truck lifted his body armor, leaving him exposed.
Each of these stories makes me proud and sad at the same time; proud that each of these heroes were willing to sacrifice themselves for our country; sad their lives were cut short.
Every person reading this post will know of family members, neighbors or others who have chosen to serve the United States of America; please take a moment to reflect and give thanks for these people.
From 1868 to 1970, Memorial Day was observed on May 30. Since 1971, it has been observed on the last Monday of May and has become the unofficial start of summer.
Enjoy your Holiday and Thanks for being here.
Tom Maloney

Ooooops... I got one too few royalties for the quarter finals, so before we proceed, I'll redeem/revive a Merovingian that got thrown out first round.
Go purely by vibe or favorite first name honestly.

You… you like country music?????/??
Yes, although most of it falls into the folk category. Folk, death metal, fantasy metal, pagan (anything really), and shanties are solid ✨👌
I really enjoy historical music. So 300 + (sometimes thousand) year old pieces 🥰
But yeah I was raised conservative redneck. There’s something’s I haven’t been able to shake. My love of Gretchen Wilson and Willie Nelson be one of those.
If you haven’t give Tyler Childers and Billy strings a listen. Those bois are ✨✨✨ Devil Driver also did a country album, it’s solid. Wednesday 13 , Hank III, and some others are on it

Which Predator type do they most align with and why?
Osiris - I had flip flopped several time with whether I was going Scene Queen or Osiris with her, and I think I finally conclusively went with Osiris. It fits better with my understanding of how she hunts on a night-to-night basis, even if her hunting style lacks the more… spiritual or mythic implications of it. But she has placed herself in a position of authority over a particular group that fits her feeding restriction, and that makes pulling someone from the group a fairly easy task.
What’s the entire lineage of their bloodline, from them all the way back to their Clan’s Antediluvian? Is there anything in particular that they and their grandsires all had in common?
Artemis Orthia (Embraced at some point in the Second City)
Lysander (Embraced 395 BC)
Marcellus (Embraced 148 BC)
Adosinda (Embraced 736 AD)
Piniolo (Embraced 857 AD)
Felix (Embraced 1012 AD)
Taresa (Embraced 1178 AD)
Velasco Suarez (Embraced 1312 AD)
Alice Hawkins (Embraced 1830 AD)
Antonia Vicario (Embraced 1939 AD)
Artemis Orthia and Lysander are both self-explanatory. Marcellus was among those embraced for the assault upon Carthage, and had the good fortune to survive, and he did a fairly good job of doing enough to keep alive without standing out enough to draw too much fire, though he did move to Spain. Adosinda was something of an impulse embrace, but managed to do unexpectedly well despite a sire of great age and little note. Piniolo, Felix, and Taresa were all embraced in Spain, and followed a similar pattern of being respectable but not exceptional.
Velasco Suarez, perhaps, could have expected the same, however, his embrace was well timed to see him, ahem, benefit,,, from the early days of conflict with the Sabbat in Europe, and earn a good bit of distinction in his efforts thereof. He was the one who would make the crossing to the New World, following Spanish interests to California, and Alice Hawkins - Antonia’s sire - is one of several childer that he would sire there.
Antonia is a scholar first but - if something needs done, she is quick to do it, and if force is what’s required, she is not particularly afraid of getting her hands dirty. It is in her blood, after all - all the way back to Sparta. Pride is another biggie - Artemis set herself as a goddess, and while Antonia usually knows how to not be… excessive, about it, she was taught quite a lot of pride in her line, compounded with a personal inclination for it.
