Dalías, Spain (No. 2)
The first inhabited nuclei in the area would probably be located in the places of El Cerroncillo and El Cerrón, where remains from the Bronze Ag , an Iberian settlement and remains of Roman pottery have been found.
It is in the time of al-Andalus when Dalías appears in its current location with the name "Dalaya". During this period, the Celín aquifers propitiate the expansion of irrigation in the foothills of the Sierra de Gádor, with the corresponding increase in population. Thus, in the  8th century, Dalías is cited as a farmhouse, as a fortress in the 10th century, and with a major mosque in the 13th century, its production of silk, sheep and goats, and aromatic plants being renowned. Its population will increase during the thirteenth centuries and xiv, as the Christian conquests advanced, until appearing as the capital of the taha of "Dilaya" (Dalías) within the administrative division of the Kingdom of Granada and, finally, as part of the fiefdom given by the Catholic Monarchs to Boabdil, the last power Muslim in the peninsula. In the middle of the 16th  century, the Moorish rebellion arrived in Dalías, leaving the town devastated, with numerous casualties among its inhabitants. The territory, depopulated, would be occupied again by old Christians arrived in Dalías attracted by the kindness of its soil and climate.
The mountain has always brought wealth, from the Phoenicians, Romans and Muslims who exploited its ore, pastures and firewood, to the large mining operations of the 19th  century that mainly extracted silver galena. The nucleus maintains in its urban structure the features of its Muslim medieval origin, houses with an orchard, but not a garden, blind and narrow streets in the form of small squares and an irregular layout. However, it is the path of Berja and Almería that acts as the cardinal axis of the urban fabric around which the settlements will be produced in the successive phases. The landscape of Celín also has an influence Moorish that denotes its medieval origin.

Dalías, Spain (No. 3)
When the Sierra de Gádor seemed finished with the decline of mining, its underground water promoted a new agricultural activity, covering the foothills with orchards and vineyards, where a table grape ("Ohanes") of good export quality was produced, converted into in recent years to extra- early greenhouse crops, the cornerstone of the municipality's economic activity today.
Most of the population settles in the city of Dalías, a title granted by King Alfonso XIII on February 12, 1920.
Dalías was the capital of a municipality that included its current municipal area together with that of El Ejido , until in 1981, in a plenary session and with a subsequent agreement of the regional government, the capital of that municipality was transferred to El Ejido and later, In 1982, Royal Decree 2251/1982 of July 30 established the segregation of the nuclei of Dalías and Celín , which became a new municipality with its capital in Dalías.
On September 19, 1993, after the procession of Cristo de la Luz, a fire destroyed the church of Santa María de Ambrox, also causing serious damage to the image of Christ and other heritage. Work on the restoration of the church lasted for ten years, the current state of the church being better than it was before the fire.
In May 2003, José María Rubio , better known as "Padre Rubio" , was canonized by Pope John Paul II in Madrid . This Dalías neighbor entered as a Jesuit and exercised his pastoral work in Madrid. Previously, in 1985, he was beatified in Rome by the same Pope. He is currently the only saint born in the province of Almería.
