My sister, dad and I were just talking about how you can’t call a movie you just watched the best movie you’ve ever seen, but my dad’s high school friend Steve would say that every time they watched a good movie together.

Anyway, I think today’s sunset was the best sunset I’ve ever seen.

The one I remember being the best sunset before this was undoubtedly stunning but I’ve completely lost it to the constructed memories of photos that resurface on our Google Home in the kitchen (this is not a Google ad).

But something that makes you appreciate many other things has got to be excellent. Perhaps it’s the best, in at least the totality of what you can remember.

There’s something about all the things that let this happen, the fact that this is close to home yet so full of chance since this might be your second time ever at this beach, how there’s no way these colours appear every time there are a few clouds in the sky.

Something about it made me appreciate my dad learning about BC’s geography from Google Maps a little bit more.

And to my dad’s high school friend Steve: I hope you kept appreciating each good movie you watched so much that you named it what it was, at least to you—the best ever.
