New "Urara" Train to Debut in Okayama/Bingo Area

  Railway enthusiasts and commuters in the Okayama/Bingo area have exciting news to look forward to. The highly anticipated new train, "Urara," will begin its operations on July 22, 2023, generating a wave of anticipation among locals. To celebrate this momentous occasion, a departure ceremony is scheduled to take place at Okayama Station on the same day. This event adds to the already palpable excitement surrounding the debut of this state-of-the-art train.   Unveiling the Urara Train Date and Time: Saturday, July 22, 2023, from approximately 10:24 AM to 10:40 AM Location: Okayama Station Platform 1 Please note that admission tickets are required for attendance, and certain areas may have restricted access during the ceremony. The schedule is subject to change depending on the train's operational status on the day. The departure ceremony will feature a lineup of distinguished guests and exciting activities: - Greetings from event organizers and special guests - Ribbon-cutting ceremony - Departure signal - Performance by Marine Liners Among the attendees will be Mr. Ryuta Ibaragi, the Governor of Okayama Prefecture, who will be present as a special guest. Event Organizer, Captain Fujiwara, the Director of West Japan Railway Company and General Manager of the Okayama Branch, alongside Okayama Station Master Joji Saito, will also grace the occasion.
