A Mid-Year Resolution: Spreading Hope with Every Donation Shaina Tranquilino June 5, 2024
Tumblr media
As we find ourselves midway through the year, it's a poignant moment to reflect on the resolutions we made at the start of 2024. Some may have fallen by the wayside, while others have become integral parts of our lives. One resolution that continues to stand strong is the commitment to giving back, to making a difference in the world, one donation at a time.
For many, myself included, part of this year's resolution was to donate to a worthy cause every month. It's a simple yet powerful way to contribute to the betterment of society, to extend a helping hand to those in need. As June is here, it's time to shine a spotlight on the organization that's receiving my support this month: Hope for Wildlife Society.
Hope for Wildlife Society holds a special place in my heart, not only for its dedication to wildlife rehabilitation and conservation but also for the hope and inspiration it brings to countless individuals. Founded by Hope Swinimer in 1997, this Nova Scotia-based organization has grown from humble beginnings into a beacon of hope for injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife.
What sets Hope for Wildlife Society apart is its comprehensive approach to wildlife rehabilitation. They not only provide immediate care and medical attention to animals in need but also focus on education and outreach programs to promote coexistence between humans and wildlife. Through workshops, school visits, and community events, they raise awareness about the importance of preserving our natural world and the role each of us plays in safeguarding it.
But perhaps what resonates with me the most is the spirit of compassion and resilience that permeates everything they do. Each success story, whether it's a bird returning to the skies or a mammal finding its way back to the wild, is a testament to the power of hope and perseverance.
As I make my donation to Hope for Wildlife Society this month, I'm reminded of the words of Margaret Mead: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." By supporting organizations like Hope for Wildlife Society, we're not just making a financial contribution; we're investing in a brighter, more compassionate future for all living beings.
So, as we navigate the rest of the year, let's carry forward the spirit of giving, of spreading hope with every donation. Whether it's a few dollars or a few hours of our time, each contribution adds up to make a significant difference. And together, we can create a world where wildlife thrives, where hope knows no bounds. https://www.hopeforwildlife.net/

(via A Guide to Helping Animals at Christmas)
The holiday season is upon us! The holidays are a time for celebrating, family gatherings, and gift-giving. They are also a time to show your compassion for animals.
Always celebrate and shop humanely and with compassion for animals in mind. Make choices in gift-giving and in celebrating that are GOOD for animals and the environment. Choose only cruelty-free products or products that are not made from animals and animal parts. Buy vegan products and food that does not cause suffering and death to animals--needlessly. And don't forget your fur family by honoring them this season with gifts that show them you care.
Support retailers and designers that are fur-free. Animal fur is becoming a cliche of the past. Buy only cosmetic and beauty products that DO NOT test on animals, be sure to check the label. VIsit LeapingBunny.com or checkout our lists below.
Never support stores that sell animals. If you plan to add to your fur family, always support a local rescue organization, city or county shelter, and ADOPT - you will save a life and give an animal a second chance.
These everyday choices and decisions will have a huge impact on animals and will underscore your kindness and compassion this holiday. Here are many more ideas for helping animals this holiday season!
And happy holidays!
