#avgeek #aviation #facts #planespotting: Convair B-58 Hustler supersonic bomber had a fighter's beauty... The Wright Brothers first airplane flight to XB-58A's November 11, 1956 maiden flight was 53 years. Thus the B-58 debuted closer to 1903 than now! 1/

This B-58A Hustler (US Air Force serial number 59-2456) was part of a group of 86 B-58As built at the then-Convair facility in Fort Worth, TX. This image circa 1962 shows the aircraft carrying the BLU-2B two component pod (fuel to the bottom, nuclear weapon on the top) on the aircraft centerline; four B-43 free-fall nuclear weapons under the wings; and the tail-mounted T-171 (later redesignated M61) Vulcan 20mm cannon.
