Friday we moved an asphalt silo and it’s pieces from Conway SC to Greenville SC. We had to stretch the low boy out to 54 feet in the well. The load weighed 66,000 lbs, 14 feet wide and 15’10 feet tall on the trailer. My overall length was 110 feet long.

Test Session 1
It was, slightly eventful
The new SC rules were tested, with the wave-by.
This whole process took about 25 minutes.
Somewhere near the start the #45 got a 5 min stop and go because of track limits.
The 32 Inter Europol is said to have clashed with a GTE, unsure which GTE.
There's video of it however.
Then there was a red flag because the #93 Peugeot stopped on Mulsanne, between the two chicanes (MP14).
Tumblr media
Red took about 25 min, meaning there was only 15 mins left.
Cars started setting best sector times but then the #7 Toyota crashed with Conway in it.
This meant the session was ended as the clock was running out eitherway.
Picture of the incident:
Tumblr media
Most laps were driven by the #28, #10 & #41 LMP2s at 34
every single car ran over 10 laps
The Garage 56 car was on GTE pace, only 2 tenths slower than the quickest GTE time
Fastest Times
Hypercar: 3:30.686 - #50
LMP2: 3:36.409 - #47
GTE: 3:56.623 - #66
CDNT (Garage 56): 3:56.880 - #24

I mentioned before that this Mami Wata puppet was donated to the Gullah community in conway, SC. Well she may already have a new gig in Sept. and from what I hear, she may have a new wardrobe created by Zenobia Harper from the community. LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
January 5, 2023
Heather Cox Richardson
After 11 ballots, the Republicans remain unable to elect a speaker and thus unable to organize the House.
After passing comprehensive laws on a wide range of issues with a similarly small House majority under Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) during the last Congress, the Democrats remain united behind Hakeem Jeffries. They have delivered 212 votes for him 11 times.
The contrast is stark.
Throughout the day, the allies of Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (CA) negotiated with the 20 extremists who refuse to back him, apparently offering them more and more power to win their votes. McCarthy has allegedly agreed to their demand that a single person can force a vote to get rid of the speaker, a demand that puts him at their mercy and that he had previously insisted he would never accept. He has also apparently offered members of the hard-right Freedom Caucus two spots on the House Rules Committee, which decides how measures will be presented to the House, and given them control over appropriations bills. He is also said to be considering letting them choose committee chairs, jumping over those with seniority.
This will not sit well with the rest of the conference. Lawyer and Washington Post columnist George Conway wrote, “I’m no political scientist, but it does strike me that a guy who negotiates by giving stuff up and and getting nothing in return probably wouldn’t make a good leader of a legislative body.”
If McCarthy does eventually win the speakership, he will have empowered a small group of extremists to control the House, and the next two years will be a constant fight as this tiny minority can hamstring the government. One of the extremists, Ralph Norman (R-SC), who wanted Trump to declare martial law in 2021 in order to retain the White House, said that McCarthy will get his vote only if he agrees not to raise the debt ceiling and will instead shut down the government and default on the national debt.
Bulwark podcast host Charlie Sykes told Alex Wagner Tonight, “There is no Republican establishment…. [W]hoever becomes the speaker is going to preside over the chaos that has been building for years. He or she is going to be the mayor of Crazytown.”
As the Republicans look incompetent and irresponsible, and will almost certainly make sure nothing much gets done in the 118th Congress, President Joe Biden is working to make sure people understand just how much the Democrats got done in the past two years.
At a cabinet meeting today, he told reporters that the country has made real progress and that the administration is now focusing on implementing the recently passed “big laws” so Americans feel the benefits of them. He noted that the $35 cap on the cost of insulin for those on Medicare went into effect only this year, along with other medical benefits like free vaccines for Medicare recipients. He also pointed out new tax credits for making homes energy efficient, and noted that government officials need to get the message out that the laws are out there.
Biden talked about both public and private investment in manufacturing, which will create jobs, and his conviction that the administration’s approach to building the economy from the bottom up is “off to a pretty darn good start.”

Chances of Tropical Disturbance Rise Off Southeast Coast as Area Prepares for Heavy Rain
As the remnants of Hurricane Francine bring heavy rainfall to parts of the Deep South, the Carolina coast is now under the threat of more downpours, with a coastal low potentially developing into a tropical system over the weekend or early next week.
Following Hurricane Francine, which is currently dissipating over the Tennessee Valley, the FOX Forecast Center is closely watching an old frontal boundary off the Southeast coast that could become the source of the season’s next tropical disturbance.
Climate and Average Weather Year Round in 29529 - Conway SC:

The National Hurricane Center has given this area a medium chance of development over the coming week. Whether it becomes a tropical cyclone or not, the Carolinas can expect rainy and occasionally windy conditions through the weekend and into the first part of the workweek.
While environmental factors aren't ideal for rapid development, the system could see slow organization as it drifts north and west toward the coastline.
Due to the continuous onshore flow, the mid-Atlantic and Carolinas will experience similar impacts whether or not the system develops into a cyclone.
Forecast models predict widespread rainfall of 2-5 inches, with heavier localized amounts possible, especially east of Interstate 95. This includes coastal areas like Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, as well as Wilmington and Morehead City in North Carolina.
NOAA's Weather Prediction Center has identified the Carolina coast as a potential flood risk area for Monday.
Inland cities such as Raleigh, Charlotte, and Richmond, Virginia, can expect more moderate rainfall totals.
Rough Seas Expected to Bring Rip Currents, Beach Erosion
Increased ocean activity will lead to rough surf, a heightened risk of rip currents, and the possibility of further coastal erosion.

The coastline around the Outer Banks and southeastern Virginia is particularly vulnerable to rough seas, as demonstrated by the swells from Hurricane Ernesto, which was more than 1,000 miles away. Waves generated by the former Category 2 hurricane caused flooding along North Carolina Highway 12, the main route through the islands, and led to the collapse of at least one abandoned home into the ocean.
After the collapse, parts of Cape Hatteras National Seashore were closed to swimmers due to concerns over debris in the water.
Authorities have not indicated that current surf conditions will surpass the swells from Ernesto or cause further damage to homes. However, the local National Weather Service office in Morehead City, North Carolina, has issued advisories for beachgoers and boaters, warning of the rough conditions.

What Else Is Being Tracked in the Tropics?
In addition to the coastal system, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two other features in the Atlantic basin, neither of which currently pose significant threats to land.
The first is a cluster of showers and thunderstorms designated as Invest 94L. An "invest" is a term forecasters use to identify an area under investigation for potential tropical development. Invest 94L is approaching the northern Leeward Islands, where it will increase shower activity. However, strong wind shear and dry air are expected to limit its ability to organize further.
youtube
The second feature is Tropical Storm Gordon, located nearly halfway between the Caribbean Sea and Africa. Throughout its life cycle, the storm is forecast to remain over the open Atlantic, without posing a threat to any land areas.
Typically, the seventh-named system in the Atlantic basin forms around September 3, indicating that the 2024 season is lagging behind the average number of named storms for this time of year. Although the Atlantic hurricane season officially spans from June 1 to November 30, historically, September 10 is the date when the highest number of hurricanes and tropical storms have occurred.
