HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: The Riveting Sci-Fi Short Film 'Ensouled'
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: The Riveting Sci-Fi Short Film 'Ensouled'
I’ve recently come across a rather intriguing sci-fi short film called Ensouled last year at FilmQuest as an awards judge and it definitely deserves your attention if you get a chance to come across it as it continues its film festival run! Deep within the enigmatic Eternia facility, Clara carries a heavy burden of concealed grief. But within these mysterious walls, her life is about to…

MUSIC VIDEO: FROOT
The music video for Marina's "FROOT," directed by Chino Moya and styled by Soki Mak, offers a visually stunning and captivating experience. Filmed at the historic Eltham Palace, the video serves as the visual accompaniment to the titular track from Marina's album. Drenched in Old Hollywood glamour, Marina transforms into a captivating siren, showcasing a timeless elegance reminiscent of the golden era of cinema.
Tumblr media
We're starting off strong with some stunning jewelry pieces from a bunch of British labels. First off, Marina's opulent bracelet. This gold vermeil, green crystal and faux pearl beauty was seen on London-based Thai designer Sorapol by Sorapol Chawaphatnakul's Fall/Winter 2014 runway show titled "Malefic".
Tumblr media
Her Pina pineapple citrine and garnet drop earrings are from Gemporia's "Copa" collection, inspired by the festival culture and radiant colors of Rio de Janeiro! 🍍
Tumblr media
Marina’s large ring, she wore throughout the video, is the ASSYA London Oriental gold vermeil long ring with multicolour gemstones.
Tumblr media
In the second look, she radiates glamour and sophistication as she ascends a staircase, adorned in a stunning ensemble from the aforementioned Sorapol collection. Dressed in an intricate glittering gold crocodile skin gown, Marina captivates the audience with her fashion-forward choice. The gown features a two slits, a boat neck, adding a touch of timeless elegance, while long sleeves contribute to the overall refined aesthetic.
Tumblr media
My favorite look from the entire video is the little pink number titled "Paeonia" from Turkish designer Zeynep Kartal's Spring/Summer 2015 "Efflorescence" runway show – a silk bodysuit with floral embroidery paired with a chiffon cape featuring a pearl button.
Tumblr media
Last but definitely not least, the insane metallic silver lamé mermaid gown with boat neck and long sleeves. A custom number created by emerging designer Clio Peppiatt exclusively for our girl!

I found this old book, so heres some more history on the Spanish Riding School Vienna.
(Also I dont understand how to put two pics next two eachother in a text post so pls bear with me, this is long)
Origin:
In 1565 a “Roßtumblplatz”, an open-air riding and tournament arena was built right next to the Hofburg palace in Vienna. Later a wooden indoor arena was added called “Spanische Reithsall”. In 1683 the first proper building for a riding school was built by Emperor Leopold I, but as a result of the second Turkish invasion it was heavily damaged before even completed.
Emperor Karl VI started building a new winter riding school in its place in 1729. The architect was Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and it was built by his son Emanuel Fischer von Erlach. The Spanish Riding School as we know it today was finished in 1735.
Tumblr media
Cross section of the Spanish Riding School drawn by one of the two Fischer von Erlachs.
Early History:
Tumblr media
This is a drawing of a horse carousel from the 2. January 1742, with Empress Maria Theresia in the middle (figure in black to the left I think) with the Spanish Riding School in the back. She was a fan of horse carousels and often had them held.
Tumblr media
But the Spanish Riding School was not only used for horse-related stuff. For example in 1814 Ludwig van Beethoven conducted a concert with 1000 musicians (1st pic), during the Vienna Congress after the Napoleonic Wars it was used for countless festifities and grand balls and in 1848 after the revolution it was used for the first Reichstag of the Monarchy (2nd pic).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then for a while nothing really happened. In 1898 all the knowledge the Spanish Riding School had, called “Directiven” was written down for the first time by Field Marshal Franz Holbein and Chief Rider Johann Meixner, up until that point all knowledge was passed on via word of mouth. World War I did not impact it that much (it did impact the breeding of Lipizzaner, but not the school itself).
World War II:
Shortly before the end of WWII the aereal war got too close to the Spanish Riding School and it was evacuated to Sankt Martin (Upper Austria). We all know how WWII went for Austria so it is no surprise that Upper Austria was not much safer.
With a very improvised, yet successful show, Colonel Alois Podhajsky (left, Chief of the Spanish Riding School from 1939-1964) managed to convince General George Patton (right) of the nearing US army to protect the horses and Spanish Riding School on 7. May 1945.
Tumblr media
The building of the Spanish Riding School survived the aereal attacks, but with the horses gone it was used as a storage space for the federal thearters. Note that the huge crystal chandeliers are missing. They were taken down during the war and walled in, in order to protect them from looters.
Tumblr media
Exile:
The horses and school moved to Wels (still Upper Austria) but were not allowed back to Vienna. Over the next 10 years (they call it Exile) the Spanish Riding School travelled the globe and performed in various contries such as:
1948, Thun, Swizerland as a thank you for the Caritas efforts to protect austrian chidren during the war.
Tumblr media
In 1950 they travel to thw United Stated, as a thank you to General Pattons protection and perform at shows in Harrisburg and New York, before moving on to Canada.
Tumblr media
1951 in Kopenhagen. 1952 multiple shows in Stockholm. 1953 and 1954 several performances in Germany (Aachen (1st pic) and Dortmund), London and Spain (Sevilla) with an audience of 20.000 people (2nd pic).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in Vienna:
With the end of the occupation of Austria and the finalization of the Austrian State Treaty in 1955 the stallions and Spanish Riding School were finally able to return to Vienna. On the 26. October 1955 they officially returned from their Exile with a festive perfromance. Everything returned back to normal.
Tumblr media
This book was published in 1962 so the last piece of history in it shows filming work for the movie “Das Wunder der Weißen Hengste”/”Miracle of the White Stallions” which came out in 1963 and was produced by Walt Disney.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This book was written by the before mentioned Colone Podhajsky and has a lot of other gems about the school and the Lipizzaner which i will show in a different post and also has a really nice section on the history of classical dressage which I will also try to show in a seperate post.

Autumn in Greece is a magical time of year. As the summer heat begins to fade, the country is transformed by the vibrant colors of fall foliage and the crisp, cool air. From the bustling streets of Athens to the serene islands of the Aegean Sea, Greece offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors during this season.
One of the best places to experience the beauty of autumn in Greece is in the Peloponnese region. This area is home to some of the country's most stunning landscapes, including the rugged mountains of the Taygetos range and the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea. In the fall, the Peloponnese is ablaze with color as the leaves on the trees change from green to shades of red, orange, and yellow. Visitors can take scenic drives through the countryside, stopping to admire the views and sample local wines and olive oils at vineyards and olive groves along the way.
Another popular destination for autumn travelers in Greece is the island of Crete. This large island is known for its diverse landscapes, from sandy beaches to rugged mountains, and in the fall, it is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. The Samaria Gorge, Europe's longest gorge, is a must-see attraction in Crete, and in the autumn, the cooler temperatures make it the perfect time to tackle this challenging hike. Visitors can also explore the ancient ruins of Knossos, the Minoan palace that dates back to the Bronze Age, and enjoy traditional Cretan cuisine at local tavernas.
For those looking for a more urban experience, the city of Thessaloniki is a great choice for an autumn getaway in Greece. This vibrant city is known for its rich history, lively nightlife, and delicious food, and in the fall, it comes alive with cultural events and festivals. The Thessaloniki International Film Festival takes place in November, showcasing the best in international cinema, while the Dimitria Festival celebrates the city's cultural heritage with music, dance, and theater performances. Visitors can also explore the city's many museums and galleries, sample local delicacies at the bustling Modiano Market, and take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade.
Of course, no trip to Greece in the autumn would be complete without a visit to the capital city of Athens. This ancient city is a treasure trove of history and culture, with iconic landmarks such as the Acropolis, the Parthenon, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. In the fall, the crowds of tourists that flock to Athens in the summer begin to thin out, making it the perfect time to explore the city's archaeological sites and museums at a more leisurely pace. Visitors can also take advantage of the cooler weather to hike up Mount Lycabettus for panoramic views of the city, or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the National Garden, a peaceful oasis in the heart of Athens.
For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Greek islands offer a tranquil retreat in the autumn months. The islands of Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes are popular destinations for travelers seeking sun, sea, and relaxation, and in the fall, they are even more enchanting. The crowds of summer tourists have gone home, leaving the beaches and villages quiet and peaceful. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the cobblestone streets of the island towns, enjoy fresh seafood at seaside tavernas, and watch the sun set over the Aegean Sea in a blaze of colors.
Whether you're looking for a cultural experience in the city, a hiking adventure in the mountains, or a relaxing beach getaway, Greece has something to offer every traveler in the autumn. With its stunning landscapes, rich history, and warm hospitality, Greece is a destination that will capture your heart and leave you longing to return year after year. So pack your bags, grab your camera, and get ready to experience the beauty of autumn in Greece. You won't be disappointed.

I do some music journalism on the side and when there’s a festival I want to cover or that I need to send a photographer to I will find the festival organiser and email them like, “Hi I’m so and so and I write for such and such and we’d love to cover your festival” and nine times out of ten it’s like “yeah, cool, here’s a press pass” or a review pass or rarely they’ll be like “lol no.” Either way I almost always get a response.
With Away From Home I spent the better part of two weeks trying to find anyone who knew anything about who was running this thing. Obviously started with Simon Jones PR (lol don’t know why I bothered they don’t respond to anyone from what I understand), then Crystal Palace Bowl, then the other acts’ PR people…and nothing. No one knew anything about press. I was lucky enough to win tickets so I was like no big deal, I still get to go, so it’s fine. I’m quite short so having press access is great for getting some photos as usually, like with Latitude Festival for example, they let us in front of the barrier for the first three songs of the set to get some shots and video footage.
So as a last Hail Mary I went to the accreditation/guest list booth at Away From Home festival yesterday and spoke to a very nice lady. Typically accreditation means press accreditation but when I went up to ask about the press list she got a confused look on her face and looked to someone else like, “Do we have a press list?” And the other woman was like, “You mean the guest list?” And I was like, “No, like do you have any press or photo access?” And they were like, “Um…hold on.” And then she got on the phone to someone and they had the same conversation like, “No, not guest, Press. No press? Okay hold on..” Then it was a game of telephone going back and forth where they were asking who I was and I said my name, who I worked for and just asked if there was any possibility of getting photo access for the beginning of the set. And basically, as expected since it almost never works to just rock up on the day and do this, they were like “Narrr babes.” But in a really nice way.
I had shown up quite early and so then went walking around the park (and to a pub naturally) and passed the VIP entrance and chatted with the security guards (always good to have them on your side) and they were like, “Yeah it’s just guests and the artists…no press has come through.”
I have spent all of today also trying to get a hold of people since the people I’m writing for are like, “Uhhh do you have anything not taken on an iPhone?” So even if I want to write about it and post a photo I still can’t figure out who took photos or if they’re available to the press (the BBC has their own photo archive for their festivals and events that press can use for their articles which I usually use) but yeah. As far as I can tell the only people doing any kind of photography or video were his own people, which makes sense since they were filming the concert, but it didn’t seem like they had any kind of press there to cover it.
This is everything in the google news section about the festival right now:
Tumblr media
So yeah…one article about Lottie and “her One Direction brother”…which is…I don’t even know what to say about it haha. All the photos in there are from her IG so Daily Mail definitely wasn’t there .
But that was my experience and it is entirely possible there was press there, but that didn’t seem to be the case from what I could see or what I was told.

Louis Tomlinson today announces a global streaming event on 4th September 2021.
The event features a mini documentary and full concert, alongside post show backstage footage.
The 30 minute documentary joins Louis as he undertakes his most ambitious project to date, The Away From Home Festival 2021. Following the postponement of his World Tour in 2020, last month Louis announced his own one-day free music event in London on the 30th August. Entirely conceived and curated by Louis himself, the festival will host 8,500 fans and will be held at the Crystal Palace Bowl.
Directed by Charlie Lightening, and featuring unprecedented access, the fly-on-the-wall short film will show Louis and his team as they plan and prepare for this momentous event. From early planning, through to the day of the show, the doc has unparalleled behind the scenes access, following Louis on the journey to putting on The Away From Home Festival.
The concert is a full 70 minute headline set from the festival, Louis's first show in front of a live audience for 18 months. Then as the show ends, footage follows Louis backstage with his band, crew and team celebrating his return to live music.
Tickets for the global streaming event are available now from https://smarturl.it/awayfromhome
The Away From Home festival is being held in celebration of the return of live music this summer following a year and a half of Covid 19 restrictions. As his own World Tour is completely sold out, Louis wanted to make tickets for this event completely free so fans don't have to spend any more money to enjoy live music this summer. Louis will headline the event with a special live set, with a line-up that also includes Scottish band The Snuts who recently hit No.1 on the Official Album Charts, Essex indie punk newcomers Bilk, and DJ sets from Radio1’s Jess Iszatt.
In December 2020, Louis hosted one of the biggest live stream concert events of 2020, selling over 160,000 tickets to fans in over 110 countries and raising funds for several important charities and touring crew affected by the pandemic.
Louis recently announced that he is partnering with BMG to release his second album globally, with recording already underway for the record. Louis's postponed sold out World Tour will visit the UK, Europe, USA, South America, Asia, and Australia in 2022, including a night at London's Wembley Arena.
Last year, Louis released his million selling smash debut solo album 'Walls' which hit Top 3 in the UK and Top 10 in the USA. A lyrically personal album that proved he had found his feet as a solo artist, the album produced a clutch of acclaimed singles including the emotive first release Two of Us, the raucous Kill My Mind, the reflective We Made It.
In 2019 Louis headlined the Coca-Cola music festival in Madrid to an audience of 25,000 people and performed to 65,000 fans at Premios Telehit in the Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City. Louis picked up the Best Song Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards for 'Two Of Us', which has so far hit over 100 million streams on Spotify alone. In 2018 Louis won an iHeart Award for 'Best Solo Breakout', and an EMA Award for 'Best UK & Ireland Act' in 2017. He was ranked No.5 on Billboard’s emerging artists of 2018 and has over 60 million combined followers on social media. Last year he won 'Artist Of The Summer' in Philly radio station 96.5 TDY's annual awards. As a member of One Direction, Louis has sold over 100 million records. Overall Louis’ solo music has garnered over a BILLION streams.
