Pretty cool news as of today ive been drawing looney tunes for a whole year (yay yippee!) and have gotten prettyyy good if i do say so myself in just that time, but also bad news today water doesn’t work for anyone in the area and allegedly isn’t going to for days AND im still sick and everything is terrible

Present day thoughts:

Just gonna address my last actual ramble/response from the last three screenshots. For context, in an episode, the team were building a playground for themselves and the episode ends with the moral of sharing is good. I think the moral that should've been learned was that people are different. I think Daffy should've realized that his friends had their own plans, and shouldn't have decided for them where all the resources went. Sometimes the morals in these episodes feel a underbaked, or misassigned.

Also a Baffy kiss could probably happen in any media, but only if used sparingly for strictly comedic purposes. If Baffy gets fanservice pandering moments, it honestly would lose its novelty in my eyes. Dafpork can get away with it happening more often cuz that duo's earned its legacy from their shorts, the precedence has been set for nearly a century now.

Comparatively, Baffy have been considered the popular iconic duo for the recent decades thanks to continuous marketing, modern reboots, and theme park live shows, so it'd feel insincere to sell their dynamic in legitimate films as flagrantly as Dafpork. Give me a well-written, non-sanitised Bugs Bunny in modern day, and then we'll talk /hj

Since a time I wanted to do a collaborative fanzine of Dafpork but i didn't have confidence in how I drew them (still hasn't have it, lol) BUT THAT CAN'T STOP ME

So probably going to do a planning of how do it and everything for doing it in the summer vacations (Like I has no things to do in the summer).

Of course I don't want to put a level for nothing, because I want this as a fun activity for this little community and every kind of content will be welcome!!

So if anyone is interested we can start cooking 👀

Yeah I grew up on Laurel and Hardy vhs because my parents are older and in my preteens-early teens got into Abbott and Costello. Laurel and Hardy are more a physical comedy duo obviously bc they started in silent comedies. But also their on screen relationship has a certain level of sweetness to it. And yeah I knew about DafPorky baby raising but I didn't know if it was them raising a baby they just randomly found. L&S shared a bed for instance and that wouldn't seem out of place for DafPork. Also it's fun to see the side by sides of them directly referencing L&H so thanks for that.

It's so funny that a kid I outgrew the porky pig and daffy duck dvds and the l&h vhs because they seemed boring. (I wanted more wordy comedy) and now I have a greater interest in that silent/exaggerated comedy.

On the BugsxDaffy side (bc it something I enjoy just like I still enjoy A&C) there's an obvious edge there. You wonder why they bother even hanging around each other.* This is clear when a&c do riffs on l&h routines ("what will you have stan?" "soda" Men O' War) ("go head have something" " ill have a turkey sandwich" Keep 'em Flying). Abbott as the straight man can be seen with Bugs, Abbott standing aside while Costello is going through some terrible physical comedy situation. Their two tens for a five bit has a similarity to the hunting trilogy.

* (Lol I just read an article about TLTS that justifies why either of them are even hanging around the other. But what rlly needs justifying there is why porky is sticking around imo.)

See the thing is dafpork is laurel n hardy (can n would raise a baby they found off the street together) and baffy is abbott n costello

i wouldn't mind about reading about those Thoughts you have about the baffy thing

it pretty much just boils down to 'i dont think a brand account offhandedly mentioning it means theyre actually 100% canon and it wouldnt surprise me if they did it just for engagement' but i also dont wanna rain down on peoples fun. im glad that people are enthusiastic about baffy (and that more people are learning that it exists) but i wish people kept in mind that brand accounts are pretty much just to promote and advertise. and the occasional shipping stuff they post isnt meant to Mean anything in the long term (its also not the first time that theyve posted about shippy stuff in general, theyve retweeted dafpork fanart before and replied to a few baffy pieces; one of them being mine, which was a surprise to wake up to that day LOL)

or maybe im wrong and its just an intern that just really likes baffy. who knows

EITHER WAY, i'm glad that people are happy about baffy nonetheless. personally i just wish WB would confirm any of the characters as possibly being LGBT+, kinda like how they hint at it in LTC from time to time (thank you LTC crew) i doubt WB would be so bold as to do that, and im aware looney tunes isnt about topics like that... but it'd still be nice to see.

Porffy anon here! I've been thinking about it and you know what? I think their ship name should be Dafpork because you and Sawyer are starting to make it more visible (would been there years ago if I had any kind of talent, oh well... anyway, thanks to you two for everything you do ❤️)

HEHEHEHHEH THIS IS SOOOOO CUTE I LOVE THIS... i’m definitely glad it’s making its rounds somewhat. obviously at the end of the day the cartoons and characters are the most important thing to me but i’m glad everyone’s having fun and yes IT’S ALL THANKS TO SAWYER they allowed me to infodump my dump truck of information i collected for myself because i was too shy to share it it... i’m so glad people are having fun with it and i LOVE this ask so muchhhhh this is so sweet THANK YOU!!!!

what an amazing ask. but TBH no unfortunately😔 even besides his self-esteem issues i just don't think he's his own type. i project onto porky a lot but as fun as it would be to think about i cant bring myself to project onto him THAT much.

daffy absolutely would be though. i mean this is. basically canon. (i can project onto him instead)

I KEEP MAKING VARIATIONS OF THE SAME POST LOL this is just important to me to stress. and i wanna beat it into my head. BUT i’m really trying to make an effort to be more proud and comfortable and Free in using this account and less like a neurotic prey animal.. more “congrats you’ve stumbled on my secret club let’s have fun im glad you’re here” and less “here is my secret shame corner. sorry you had to see that Gary”. i’ve been thinking a lot lately about how my own attitudes can rub off on or influence other people, for better or worse, and i don’t want people to feel like engaging in dafpork Stuff is something to be ashamed of! i want more people to experience the joy of it! and i’m not gonna do that by following every post with how embarrassed i am and how cringey i am because what does that say to people who are curious about them! i like to rag on how these guys playfully embarrass me and that Porky needs a restraining order against Daffy, but these guys are deeply deeply important to me and a very intrinsic part of my identity, and i don’t want people to have this accidentally negative impression of them, or absorb my weird neuroses by proxy…

i wish i could be even louder and prouder about them due to circumstances i’ve mentioned before, but i sort of want this little side log to be just.. a fun bonus! a fun little bonus of art and love and fun for these characters and love for the people who love them, and less of a shame corner that i need to haphazardly stuff everything into. i wanna stop holding back and really just put the full potential that i know i have into my art and writing and musings and postings of these guys… because i want others to do the same!

so, yay! take this as a sign if you’ve been looking for a similar reprieve! i love these guys immensely and hiding or discounting how much i do love them completely defeats the purpose of this blog. Pig and Duck Summer (and fall, and winter, and spring, and so on)
