can we please talk about bryan dechart’s acting? in dbh, he managed to act so fucking emotional while being completely emotionless. his eyes showed so much even through digitization, and it’s just unbelievable to me how this man hasn’t been picked up by any major show/movie. get bryan in a big acting project pleasee!!

Humanity Intro

I sat at my desk working on a design for some posters advertising the new Jericho. I’d been hired in an attempt to get awareness out for the androids still in hiding or lost even though it seemed a little silly at this point since it was all over the internet something all androids seemed to be plugged into. 

Then my phone rang. Hank Anderson. 

I'd been friends with his son when we were kids and despite my parents soon moving on desperately urging me to do the same and promptly forgetting Cole. I on the other hand stayed in contact as I got older and still visited him regularly. Not like a replacement child but just a friend, when Connor came along I was introduced but felt a little like I was being replaced even if it made no sense. 

I shook my head and quickly moved to answer, it already took too long for me to pick up. 

“Hey Carina, thought you were going to ignore me.” He chuckled softly, Connor at least helped him heal in that way, “I want you to talk to Connor about some stuff.”

I looked away from the computer, unable to focus anymore. 

“Hank, I don’t know Connor doesn’t really know me and I don’t see what I could tell him that you couldn’t…”

My voice trailing off because surely Hank wasn’t telling me to help Connor learn how to pick up chicks or whatever. 

“You’d be surprised, kid doesn’t get out a lot aside from the job. You’re actually decent to him and I’m just an old man with a lot of issues. He needs other company.”

My heart dropped, Hank sounded like he was preparing for his death. He had tried to hide it but I knew his little game he played on lonely nights with too much alcohol. 

“Yeah, how can I help.”

If he noticed the strain in my voice he didn’t react. 

“How to be a normal human perhaps.”

My worry subsided and I even let out a slight laugh. 

“Fine. Just let me know when you’re free for�� lessons. The station will keep you busier than my work ever would.”

He grunted pleased and I heard Connor calling out for the Lieutenant. 

I had no idea what human lessons would entail but it seemed I would soon be spending a lot more time around Connor. 

AN: I was feeling kind of sad and was watching a bunch of movies that to me definitely feel like key points of humanity and I just liked the idea of Connor learning about humanity from types of media and I don't know I just write down ideas lol
