i genuinely believe amy never actually was in love with sonic in that way. not because of a conflicting headcanon or whatever, but i feel like she was is confusing romantic interest with genuine admiration. she sees him as an inspiration to help people and do good and love the world.

there’s bits and pieces we see of her and her fear of abandonment. she doesn’t want to be casted away in the dark, she wants a spot in the light in the same way that sonic does. maybe if she was more helpful, then people would stay?
