Okay SO

Dishes are a whole EVENT in the Barnes-Rogers household, because as much as it's easy to just toss everything in the dishwasher and forget about it, they're inclined to do little things like that "the old fashioned way". Old habits die hard, and sure the future is convenient, but some things are little comforts when they can take the time to indulge.

And it's a chore they've done together as long as they've known each other. Whether it was washing the dishes for Winnie while Becca and Gracie screamed in the other room, or having a quiet night in their own apartment 10 years later, washing the dishes while listening to the radio, it's always been something methodical and reflexive they love doing together. A seamless network-- an easy, flowing routine.

So even now, Bucky will turn on the record player they keep in the living room, music wafting into the kitchen as Steve scrubs the dishes and Bucky dries them and puts them away. They talk idly about gossip or their days, and occasionally Bucky will swat Steve on the bum with the towel he's using. Inevitably it ends with a splash fight or Bucky coaxing Steve away from the sink by his belt loops and dancing him around the kitchen while he sings along loudly to Lady Gaga and Steve laughs, bright red in the face.
