Love is Not Blind    [trailer]
A white-collar worker goes through a bittersweet phase after she broke up with her ex-boyfriend, and eventually gets her true love.
The movie takes its time to show how her feelings develop. That happens slower than in many other relationship films, but it feels much more real. At times it's also a little sentimental, but that again is how it feels during such a time.
What I really enjoyed was the low-key humour and the funny interactions between the two leads. A very pleasant watch.

Lee Man (Aaron Kwok), a member of a notorious money counterfeiting ring, is arrested in Thailand and extradited back to Hong Kong. Thanks to renowned painter Yuen Man (Zhang Jing-chu), Lee is offered a deal by the police: Reveal the identity of Painter (Chow Yun-fat), the charismatic leader of the counterfeiting ring, and Yuen can bail him out. Lee has no choice but to comply and recount his story: In the 1990s, Lee and Yuen were lovers living together in Vancouver, seeking to be seen in the art world. However, success eludes them, and Lee is forced to go make counterfeit paintings to make a living.
Lee’s counterfeit paintings catch the eyes of Painter, and he decides to recruits Lee to join his team. Together with Painter’s elite team, Lee travels the world in search of technologies to create the “Super Dollar,” a counterfeit bill that circumvents the anti-counterfeiting measures of the 1996 American dollar. But when Lee witnesses Painter’s violent methods in action, he becomes desperate to escape his employer’s grip.
Will Painter come out of hiding to seek revenge for Lee’s betrayal? Or will he disappear for good?

Project Gutenberg    [trailer]
The Hong Kong police are hunting a counterfeiting gang led by a mastermind code-named "Painter". In order to crack the true identity of him, the police recruits a gang member to unmask his secret identity.
It has its moments. But I had big difficulties with some tonal shifts. Background gets established for about thirty minutes (the movie clearly tries to be epic), then it is shown in great detail how a crew forges banknotes. And after that these expert forgers suddenly take part in a violent attack with a big shootout of a highly guarded truck. It gets even more comic book violent during a later attack that leaves 82 people dead and 157 wounded. We know those insanely precise numbers because both incidents get described early in the film.
While I'm sure those scenes will please Chow Yun-Fat's action fanbase, but they took me out of the movie. And since I didn't really get invested, the final "twist(s)" left me cold.
