What is a forged fitting?
Pipe fittings made from forged carbon steel are known as forged steel fittings. The forging process is used to create very strong fittings. Carbon steel is heated to molten temperatures and inserted into dies. Forged steel fittings are then machined using the heated steel.
A wide variety of equipment is connected with forged fittings, including pumps, valves, pipes, and many others. There are two main types of these fittings, threaded fittings and socket weld fittings, which are used to connect pipes with fittings by screwing them together. In addition to being available in a variety of materials and grades, these forged fittings are widely available.
The use of forged fittings is to link pipes, pumps, valves, etc. to construct piping systems that are smaller than 2 or 4 inches in diameter.
Forged fittings are generally of two types: socket-weld fittings which are welded to pipes and threaded fittings which are screwed onto pipes.
Asme B16.11, MSS SP 75, MSS SP 83, MSS SP 95 specification covers forged fittings, both socket weld and threaded, for use with ASME B36.10 and ASME B36.19 carbon, alloy, stainless steel and nickel alloy pipes.

ASME B16.9 ASTM A403 WP316L SMLS CON RED is used to join pipes or tubes sections on the same axis. They provide an in-line conical transition between pressurized pipes of differing diameters. A WP316L SMLS CON RED can be a single diameter change or a multiple diameter change. The pipes cannot recognize what the outside configuration of the pipe reducer looks like. The pipe flow is affected by the inside diameter conical transition configuration which can be axially moved and externally reconfigured to provide for more economical reducer fittings. Thus, WP316L SMLS CON RED connects pipes of unequal size but have a common centerline. ASME B16.9 ASTM A403 WP347H SMLS CON RED is used to join pipes or tubes sections on the same axis. They provide an in-line conical transition between pressurized pipes of differing diameters. A WP347H SMLS CON RED can be a single diameter change or a multiple diameter change. The pipes cannot recognize what the outside configuration of the pipe reducer looks like. The pipe flow is affected by the inside diameter conical transition configuration which can be axially moved and externally reconfigured to provide for more economical reducer fittings. Thus, WP347H SMLS CON RED connects pipes of unequal size but have a common centerline. In other words, it is a type of pipe fitting with different size ends to join pipes of different diameter that joins pipe sections on the same axis.
WP347H SMLS CON RED is designed with the small and large diameters on opposite ends and joined by a cone shaped transition section. They are available in both seamless and welded construction.
Use of WP347H SMLS CON RED is as follows:
WP347H SMLS CON RED will transition gracefully between the piping and the pump.
The WP347H SMLS CON RED helps in transporting slurries or abrasive liquids.
They are useful in services where cavitation is present.

A blind flange is a solid disk used to block off a pipeline or to create a stop. It is machined in the same manner as a regular flange with the mounting holes around the perimeter and the gasket sealing rings machined into the mating surface. The difference is that a blind flange has no opening to allow fluid to pass through. The blind flange can be inserted between two open flanges and used to block off the flow of liquid through a pipeline.
Without the blind flange it would be difficult to perform maintenance or repairs on a pipeline. The flow would need to be shut off at the nearest valve, which could be miles away from the repair area. Valves are also very expensive and are prone to sticking. The blind flange is a much more cost efficient way of sealing a pipe.

ASME B16.9 ASTM A403 WP347H SMLS CON RED is used to join pipes or tubes sections on the same axis. They provide an in-line conical transition between pressurized pipes of differing diameters. A WP347H SMLS CON RED can be a single diameter change or a multiple diameter change. The pipes cannot recognize what the outside configuration of the pipe reducer looks like. The pipe flow is affected by the inside diameter conical transition configuration which can be axially moved and externally reconfigured to provide for more economical reducer fittings. Thus, WP347H SMLS CON RED connects pipes of unequal size but have a common centerline. In other words, it is a type of pipe fitting with different size ends to join pipes of different diameter that joins pipe sections on the same axis.
WP347H SMLS CON RED is designed with the small and large diameters on opposite ends and joined by a cone shaped transition section. They are available in both seamless and welded construction.
