Captain Ed Dwight (September 9, 1933) the first African American astronaut candidate, IBM computer systems engineer, real estate developer, professional sculptor, and former Air Force test pilot, was born in Kansas City, Kansas.

His father Ed Dwight, Sr. played second base for the Kansas City Monarchs in baseball’s Negro League which left Ed with his mother, Georgia Baker Dwight. He graduated from Bishop Ward Private Catholic High School in Kansas City, The school did not accept African Americans, but his mother wrote to the Vatican directly, and they ordered the school to accept her son and racially integrate. He attended Kansas City Junior College where he completed an AA in Engineering and enlisted in the Air Force. He racked up over 9,000 flying hours. He continued his education and graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering BS from Arizona State University. He received his MFA in Sculpture at the University of Denver.

He was accepted as the first African American in NASA’s Astronaut Training Group. He was not selected as an astronaut and he resigned from the Air Force at the rank of Captain. He took a position with the IBM Corporation as a Marketing Representative & Systems Engineer. He became an Aviation Consultant for a Dallas firm and joined Executive Aviation, Inc. He founded Dwight Development Associates, Inc. a Real Estate Land Development, and Construction Company, and became one of the largest Real Estate development entrepreneurs in Denver.

He would become recognized for many of his sculptures across the country, including that of the historical life-size sculpture representation of President Barack Obama’s first inauguration scene, and the Underground Railroad Memorial in New Jersey. He owns a studio/gallery and foundry in Denver. He has received hundreds of awards from around the US for his achievements & contributions to racial progress through his many sculptures. How do I even begin to explain Nadia Van Dyne? Nadia Van Dyne is flawed, but flawless. She has one of the highest IQs in the Marvel Universe and started the Agents of G.I.R.L. to champion women scientists and heroes. I hear her genetic ability to shrink is insured for $10,000. I hear she's taking driving lessons... with Carol Danvers. Her favorite musical artist is Dazzler. One time, she met Doctor Doom on a plane, and they became best friends and he sort of became a good guy for a while. One time, she punched Monica Rappaccini in the face... and it was awesome.

Quick biography:

Way way way back in the day, Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym fell in love with a Hungarian entomologist (and political prisoner) named Dr. Maria Trovaya, who escaped to the US. She is who got him interested in ants. They got married. They went on their honeymoon to Hungary, where the Red Room kidnapped Maria and faked her murder so that Hank/the Americans wouldn't try to get her back. Hank had a nervous breakdown and got REALLY into ants, became Ant-Man, etc.

MEANWHILE: Maria is alive and being held captive by the Red Room when it's discovered that SHE'S PREGNANT WITH HANK'S BABY. She gives birth in the Red Room and is immediately killed, because now the Red Room doesn't need her -- they have her baby, who they can train from literal birth AND who is the product of TWO geniuses instead of just being ONE genius. However, because of their closeness, Ying is taken away and reassigned to the normal assassin program. Nadia is alone.

Nadia is determined to escape the Red Room and bring Ying with her, so she eventually manages to acquire black market Pym Particles and experiments with them. She integrates their size-changing properties into her being because hand-wavey superhero science and escapes into the Quantum Realm and thereafter, to America.

She makes her way to Hank's last known address in New Jersey, but oh no, Hank is dead sort of, and also Ultron, sort of, whatever, he's gone. Nadia is crushed that he is dead (she doesn't know about the Ultron part). Nadia decides to become the Wasp and join the Avengers. She saves Vision's life and is like, "YAY I SAVED MY NEPHEW'S LIFE!" and she's not technically wrong. Jarvis immediately is like, "I am adopting this child. Let's go meet Janet."

Janet and Nadia meet by saving the President from a microbomb, idk, it's a whole thing. Anyway, they meet, and Janet immediately just totally falls in love with Nadia and takes her out for a day on the town to experience all of the things she'd never gotten to do before, while living in the Red Room, like ice cream and not being in the Red Room.

Then Civil War II happens and idk whatever.

Then Nadia decides that she is going to form the Agents of G.I.R.L. and that's where her first solo series starts, and you should read it because it's SO GOOD!!!!

The West Tower is expected to be the final building that is demolished but, according to City Manager Bob Herron, that plan could change. “After that, the Earth will be moved for the ($75-$90 million) new regional cancer center that WVU Health Systems will build,” he said. “I’m not sure how long the Earth moving for the new facility will take, but I know WVU-HS will be ready when the demolition is completed. Officials with WVU-Health System teamed up with the City of Wheeling, the Ohio County Commission, and WVU Medicine to take control of the former OVMC campus in October 2023. "When the campus was shut down, the City of Wheeling did everything possible to keep it an active place," the city manager said. "In the end, though, this is the best option and now, more lives will be saved." The South Building is expected to be the next structure that is razed on the former OVMC campus. The South Building once housed several medical services and a plethora of doctor’s offices. The majority of Wheeling Council vote in June 2020 to acquire the campus from MPT, or Medical Properties Trust, in exchange for paying back property taxes and other fees that were due. The process began in early 2020 when Herron inquired about the City purchasing the former Ohio Valley Professional Center. "That when the people at MPT suggested we take the whole thing," recalled Wheeling Council member Dave Palmer (Ward 6). "So, the Professional Center is now our police headquarters and that was long overdue, and after marketing the buildings (on the OVMC campus) for a couple years, here we are, and I think the cancer center is going to be great addition to that area of Center Wheeling." 1 large rib celery plus handful of leafy celery tops (Great Joy Family Farm)

1 bunch of parsley (4E Green Farm)

1 cup Great Joy Family Farm fragrant long grain rice or 1 cup La Trafila fresh pasta 

Instructions

Roast chicken, when cooled, remove most of the meat but be sure to leave some on! 

Place chicken carcass in a large pot filled with water. 

Add garlic cloves (minced or whole), roughly chopped leek, celery, carrots and red onion to pot. 

Season with salt, pepper, parsley and start a low simmer for 3-4 hours. 

Taste occasionally, add seasoning if needed. 

When done cooking, remove chicken carcass and remove its remaining meat. 

Add chicken meat back into the soup. Add cooked rice or noodles. 

Garnish with fresh parsley. 

Serve piping hot!

(And the fact that I can get better state issued health insurance than what I’m getting through my job is also kind of pathetic)

I just feel… frozen. Trapped. I don’t know what to do because I’m stuck in such a vicious cycle now. I need to work to pay bills and support building my business properly, but I don’t have the time to actually work on my art for my business. When I do actually have time to work on the art, I have nowhere to store product, which makes me not want to create because I don’t want it to get damaged. I refuse to use print on demand sites anymore because they have done nothing but fuck me over every time I posted content, meanwhile stolen content runs absolutely unscathed and free. And that’s setting aside their ridiculous cuts of how much they take.

Now, sure; I can run pro-orders for things on Etsy, but I’m also trying to not use Etsy for things, due to their own problems that they created the more mainstream they got. If I only get two preorders for something due to my not great marketing skills, I have to deliver on them regardless of price they actually wind up being (websites like vograce and zap creative give discounts for bulk orders). And sure, I could still order the bulk item, but that would still be at a net loss if it’s not popular or I don’t market myself properly.

I just feel so lost.
