#ohh my gosh#this is so interesting#the double meaning of ‘if fate permits’#which would otherwise simply mean if circumstances outside our control don’t prevent it#if it wasn’t for the fact that Dr. Fate is the one saying it#also Inza repeatedly learning to be ok with Dr. Fate but that acceptance never being able to last#she literally ends the last issue saying that she’s learning to live with Dr. Fate#with Inza acknowledging here that ‘somehow the feeling never seems to last’#I wonder if this is intended to be related to how Dr. Fate prevents both Kent and Inza from physically aging#it’s like… preventing them from growing and forever reverting back to the previous status quo/premise#particularly considering how the previous 4-issue arc begins and ends the same way#with Inza having to take care of a physically injured Kent after a Dr. Fate adventure#and lamenting how this happens again and again#also the line about her not wanting to look at her diary cause it just reminds her how nothing ever changes#Dr. Fate isn’t necessarily keeping Kent and Inza to be forever ok with what he does#just trapped in the same miserable cycle#dc#kent nelson#inza nelson#nabu#my posts#comic panels
