Accompanying piece to my Kuragiana reference sheet! Slightly tempted to go back and edit this to potentially fill up some of the empty space on the ecology page, but otherwise, I'm very pleased with how these came out! Hope you all enjoy!

for the WIP game: The Name of War sounds intriguing. Tell me more!
send me an ask with a WIP title and i'll talk about it!
another fic for Of Fire and Of Ice's second arc! The Name of War is this AU's version of Avengers: Age of Ultron.
I spent a lot of time tinkering around with the movie's storyline for this one, because while it's not a terrible movie and i do enjoy watching it, it's definitely one that has a lot of spots that i wanted to change.
there's the obvious changes (the Maximoff siblings, Natasha's conversation with Bruce), but there's a couple of things that are more of personal nitpicks that i wanted to change and include. also, my plan with this one is for it to have less focus on the action and more on the emotional journey following the TDW fic. and there's more of a focus on the Infinity Stones subplot the movie had because of Reasons™.
things this fic has:
the obligatory Stark Party from the movie
angst
conversations with Thor (and others) that involve Hard Emotions™
the norns because deleting that scene was criminal since im a slut for lore
betty ross because if we get thaddeus i want her too
angst
beloved Drekasal OC of mine who's a reoccurring character for the series once he's introduced
i don't have a snippet to share for this one unfortunately (the bits i have are almost all from before the final draft outline was done) but i hope the above is exciting because i think about this one a lot sometimes :')

Eda: Costume? I’m fabulous already, I don’t need a “costume”.

I keep hearing about The Outer Wilds, and I saw that the second one is coming out soon, but I know next to nothing about it :O What’s the general summary, and would you recommend it?
I'm hoping you mean The Outer Worlds and not The Outer Wilds, because I can only answer about the first, despite their titles being so similar. (Both developers have made jokes about it and I've confused them several times myself, even though I've yet to play The Outer Wilds.) The Outer Worlds is a first-person action RPG set in an alternate timeline future where capitalism historically went even more rampant and unchecked, so you're rudely awoken 70 years late in a far distant space colony completely controlled by corporate propaganda, and it falls on you to make certain decisions to help or hinder various characters and factions. You get your own spaceship with a murderous, sarcastic AI, the opportunity to collect several interesting companions whom you can help in their own lives, (including a canonically asexual wlw engineer!), a mad scientist who's using you to complete his own experiments that may or may not be good for the colony, and a whole lot of fun NPCs and locations to explore. The writing and worldbuilding are excellent, the voice cast is fantastic, and it's a generally wonderful game, in my opinion. There's also two DLCs that offer new quests, locations, NPCs, and stories to explore and they're both wonderful expansions.
If you want a game with a good story, a strong and cohesive visual (and historically-based) aesthetic, some great humor that's sometimes a little dark or bleak, the ability to create your own character and choose from a variety of dialogue and playstyle options, and if you enjoy shows like Firefly or Futurama, or games like Fallout: New Vegas or Pillars of Eternity, (both made by the same developer,) it's something you may enjoy. I personally love it to absolute pieces, but I'm also aware of its shortcomings.
It has a short playtime and a more closed open world by today's standards, and the combat isn't particularly challenging, so there's some valid complaints, largely due to a small developer with time and budget constraints. Obsidian made it while they were still independent, so it's more of a AA game than the standard AAA and it certainly shows those limits.
However, they were recently acquired by Microsoft, so I have hopes that they'll have a bigger budget and more time to go all-in on developing the next game, which from what we've been told, won't be a direct sequel, but instead a brand new story set in a different part of the same universe. I think the worldbuilding they've already done is more than strong enough to sustain such a choice, and I'm immensely excited to see what they do with the series next!
I highly recommend giving it a shot if any of this sounds interesting. I could ramble endlessly about it, but I'm trying to keep it relatively concise! Though I'm always open to any questions if you have more. Thanks for asking me and I genuinely hope this helped. <3

Another banner for the Wildborn AU, featuring Arduinna Ward—aspiring Oracle Tract student of Chiro Academy—and her draconic mentor, Arwain the Seeress!
Whereas Tristan and Aedh are aligned to the fire element, Rina and Arwain specialize in water magic, on the reasoning that scrying—another form of divination—employs the use of a reflective medium, be it a crystal ball or any body of water.
(On a side note, I also consider this practice for when I inevitably draw Sisu from Raya and the Last Dragon >v>)

Just finished reading Chapter 12 last night, and I just have to say that I LOVED the entire Grudgby practice—excellent writing from both Willow and the Banshees’ perspectives, and Boscha’s reaction to Willow’s throw near the end there was priceless. Honestly, Skara could not have put it better: pretty sure the reason Willow didn’t go all out on them before was because she’s way too nice for that (even after them giving her nothing but shit for years).
I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
Willow is a huge comfort character for me because she resembles some of my own high school experiences, and that she gets to grow more confident in a way I personally never managed to at school is just... I love her. I love Willow so much.
She deserves the world.
And she also deserves to not be nice all the time.
Sassy Willow is the best, and her getting to show off is just... it’s great. It’s really great.
Have I mentioned I love Willow a whole lot? Hfhfhfh

Hello, there! So I remember some time ago that you did some analysis/speculation on Belos and the Nine Covens, specifically how you pointed out that the Covens are implied to have been around long before Belos came to power. Personally, I find that concept riveting (definitely have plans to use it in my own writing!), because
A) it would mean that Belos stating to have created the Coven System is in fact another outright lie, confirming he is indeed a tyrant bent on control
B) in general, itadds so much potential depth and world building to the Isle’s history, which I would love to see explored in Season 2, assuming that is the direction we go in
That in mind, I keep thinking back to the Savage Ages, and I wonder if they really deserve that title? If the covens existed during that time, but weren’t enforcing the constriction to one of the nine types of magic, then of course witches would want to experiment. Maybe it got out of hand because of a few overzealous individuals, but that’s hardly reason to punish everyone else.
Also, I’m sorry that you had a rough day today, and I hope things will get better!
I’m not sure that the “Savage Ages” entirely deserve the title bestowed by Belos.  But I don’t believe that the age was a particularly peaceful time to live in.
In the post you mentioned above, I detailed my conclusion that the coven and tract systems pre-dated Belos’ rise to power.  The TL;DR of that post is that I believe the main nine covens were the center of social and political power before Belos rose to power, and that magic schools and the tract system predated Belos’ rise to power.
I’ve had much more time to think about that theory since then, and I’d like to expand on it now.
I don’t think the life of a commoner during the Savage Ages would have been much better than life under Belos.  I think that during the Savage Ages the various territories of the Boiling Isles were controlled by one of the main nine covens.  Regardless of their origin, I believe that by the end of the Savage Ages the main nine were tyrannical oligarchies controlled by members of various aristocratic families such as the Blights and Clawthornes.  And I believe that it was likely nearly impossible for a member of the common class to break into the higher ranks of these covens.
From what we’ve seen on the show, coven leaders appear to be selected not through democratic election but by their magical prowess.  There is no reason to believe that this was not the case during the Savage Ages as well.
Witches appear to be born with only a rudimentary understanding of how to use their magical ability.  Some witches are born with greater natural talent than others, of course, but the great equalizer between witches appears to be access to education and private study.  Consider how Amity would fare in a witches duel against the naturally talented Willow if she did not have the education and resources provided by her parents.  Of course, just like in the real world, not all education is cut from the same cloth and some parents cannot afford to send children to school who could be helping them work.  If there are street urchins during Belos’ reign, then there were almost certainly street urchins before it.
Worse, consider how fragile peace between nine factions with competing interest and goals would be.  It would be difficult for any child to learn if they are in the middle of an ongoing conflict.
