Today I was at DCC and heres the summary of the batshit totally normal things that happened:

1. I got to see hundreds of spider people, like Literal hundreds. It was...Breathtaking

2. I came across that dream daddy god of war artwork in the artists alley. I was in Atreus cosplay...so that was something

3. I was made to put on cat ears for a photo, while as atreus so I guess the fandom is either going to be pissed at me or very very happy

Met Mark Sheppard at Dublin Comic Con.

So my younger brother @monsieur-le-vagin and I went up to Dublin for comic con. We checked in at our hotel before the con, but the room wasn't ready, so we left our bags and headed off. Came back to the hotel later and was given the room number and key cards. My brother is dressed as photographer Peter Parker and wearing a pride flag cape, I'm cosplaying Kim Possible, but my hair is tied back and a mess from the wind. My eyeliner is really smudged. We're 18 and 20 respectively. We look out of place in this hotel lobby filled with Americans, English people and other tourists.

The room is up on the top floor - the lift doesn't go all the way up so we have to take a flight of stairs. It's an old hotel, it's Dublin, no surprise. We get to the door, and there's a sign saying suite, and we're confused. The key cards don't work, so I go back down to reception and get more.

We open the room. It is a suite. There is a four poster bed, a mini bar, a lounge area, a bathroom with two sinks and a jacuzzi and a huge balcony. We're certain there has been a mistake. We're just supposed to be sharing a big double bed in a normal room.

I go back down to reception, still looking a state, and ask has there been a mistake. She looks at the computer. 'No mistake, you got a free upgrade.'

She can tell I'm flabbergasted. I say 'we were afraid to touch anything.'

She tells us that no, we're fine and to enjoy our stay. I go back upstairs and tell my brother. He drops to his knees, and we both cackle, absolutely gobsmacked. We only paid €125 each. Dublin is notoriously expensive. This suite usually costs €600 per night.

So anyways, we watched Red White & Royal Blue in the best possible setting.

TL;DR My brother and I got upgraded to a hotel suite in cosplay
