Ich durfte heute dank dem Autohaus Schwaba in Augsburg einen neuen E-Bulli fahren, es ist eine wahre Wonne. Einfach durchdacht und cool gemacht.

Und soll ich Euch was sagen – ich freue mich auf mein elektrisches Pendant zum genialen T2 Bulli. Das wird ein Traumpärchen. 👏🏼

Erstmal Danke. An Tumblr. Dass dieser Blog nach so vielen Jahren noch existiert, ohne dass ich einen Post verfasst hätte. Ist zum Glück auch mit meinen beiden anderen Blogs der Fall, so dass ich jetzt die Qual der Wahl habe: weiterführen oder einfrieren. Kontinuität oder besser Neuanfang?

Wie gut, dass es drei Blogs waren. Sind. So treffe ich ein entschlossenes, salomonisches Urteil: Ein Blog bleibt. Ein Blog entsteht neu. Einer… wartet auf die Entscheidung

Danke! Den Zuspruch brauchte ich jetzt. Denn für meine Follower(in) heißt das: Adieu, maidrei. Voilà, trotztesla. Ja, ich habe lange nach Namensalternativen gesucht. Denn mein i3, der bei maidrei Pate stand, ist Geschichte. Der zweite bereits, nachdem der erste (der Gute) mich 5 Jahre begleitet und der zweite (stylische) mich eineinhalb Jahre beschäftigt hat. Mein Dritter ist kein i3 (ausgelaufen, habe den letzten im BMW-Werk Leipzig stehen sehen), kein i4 (sehr chic, war erst mein Favorit, dann aber 18! Monate Wartezeit angekündigt)

Davor das Kundenevent in Dresden mit der Premiere und Probefahrt des iX (sowas wie Liebe auf den ersten Blick in die falsche Konfektionsgröße) und etwas später der Besuch bei der BMW-Ausbildung in Leipzig. Spätestens da machte es Klick. Bei aller Sogwirkung von Teslas Modell 3 und Y, bei aller solider Beratung vor Ort im - allerdings abschreckend nüchternen - Tesla-Zentrum im Leipziger Westen, eins wurde mir klar: Ich möchte weiterhin ein Auto aus heimischer Fertigung (hat Tesla auch), am besten Leipziger (wie beim i3) mit hohem Anspruch an die Fertigungsqualität, an ressourcenschonende Produktion und die Rahmenbedingungen für Mensch und Arbeit. Dass mir bei Tesla geraten wurde, lieber das in China als in Brandenburg gefertigte Modell zu kaufen (Qualität), dass in Brandenburg eine (Wald)Steppe trockengelegt wird, während sich in Leipzig Windräder drehen, und dass schon BMW-Auszubildende mit Teamspirit glänzen, während Tesla-Mitarbeitenden ein Maulkorb auferlegt wird, das hat mir zu denken gegeben. Und so habe ich mich schließlich für ein neues Modell aus dem Haus BMW entschieden, das mich überzeugt hat - trotz oder wegen Tesla. Darum nenne ich meinen Nachfolgeblog „trotztesla“ und lade dazu ein, mir zu folgen. Wer erfahren will, warum ich mir herausnehme, einen subjektiven E-Mobilitätsblog zu kreieren, bekommt hier noch einen Vorgeschmack. Aber eigentlich ist das schon (eine ganz andere) Geschichte …

World Energy Storage Day 2022: Join the global movement aimed at faster adoption of energy storage

In 2021, a record 290GW of renewable power was added to the power grids across the globe and 6.6 million electric vehicles were sold globally. As the push towards greener grids and cleaner transportation grows stronger, energy storage will be key in enabling sustainable energy transition as well as the transition toward electric mobility.

Recognizing the significance of energy storage technologies in the coming decades and to draw a roadmap for faster adoption in the future, Customized Energy Solutions (CES) and India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) are organizing the 6th edition of World Energy Storage Day (WESD) 2022 – a global conference and expo on September 22, 2022.

What to expect from WESD 2022?

WESD 2022 will bring together industry veterans, policymakers, scientists, and experts from across the seven continents on a single platform to deliberate on the policy landscape, R&D, roadmap, and outlook for the energy storage industry globally.

The 24-hour marathon event will be held virtually covering four global regions, encompassing Asia and Australia, South Asia and Russia,  Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North and South Americas.

WESD 2022 - Global Regions

The virtual session will include 16+ sessions on stationary energy storage, e-mobility and enabling infrastructure, green hydrogen, and manufacturing & innovation.

Like every year, the world energy storage day conference and expo will attract participation from 100+ CXOs and nearly 30+ countries. The intention of the deliberation is to facilitate bilateral trade, support market development, and promote new research and innovation in the industry.

Beyond the sessions, the highlight of WESD 2022 includes country roundtable, technology workshop, partner seminar, virtual tour, start-up pitch, product launch, networking lounge, and a virtual expo.

This year, the event will host 10 technical workshops covering a range of current topics such as energy storage project modeling, battery fire in EVs and ESS, long-duration storage, energy access, women in energy, recycling and circularity, urban air mobility, and more.

Like last year, WESD 2022 is hosting a Global Startup Showcase 2.0 and currently, applications are open for startups working in the area of energy storage technologies, e-mobility, RE integration, energy storage grid application, EV charging infra, EV components, BMS, EMS, PCS, power electronics, battery raw material and recycling, green hydrogen, microgrid, energy access and demand response and more.

The 10 shortlisted startups will get a chance to pitch at the WESD 2022 virtual conference and expo and get a free booth to showcase their technology or product at the virtual conference. Additionally, the startups will get a chance to be part of various startup accelerator programs and explore funding opportunities through CES and its partners.
