Formwork is the temporarily created mould into which concrete is poured for purpose of casting slabs, columns, beams, walls and other concrete elements of a structure. Ties: A tie is a tensile unit used to connect opposite sides of formwork. It serves as a balanced connection or is used to resist the effective pressure of fresh concrete.
Braces: Braces are used to keep the formwork upright by deterring form deflection under lateral pressure.
Studs: Studs in the formwork are used to support sheathing panels and make a framework to keep them in position.
Sheathing: Sheathing panel is used to keep the concrete in its required shape and position until it sets and hardens.
Wales: Wales are horizontal propping members that are placed against sheathing to directly resist sheathing pressure.
Battens: Battens are vertical members in the formwork which keep cleats and wales uptight and in position.
Footing: Footing is the bottommost member which supports the entire formwork.
Roles and Responsibilities of a site engineer in Formwork
Safety training of personnel involved in formwork
Checking the connections for correct installation and periodic inspection to check wear and correct positioning.
Inspecting the alignment of the supports given to the formwork as in verticality, height, spacing between.
Ensuring all the support props are placed on a hard bearing surface.
Safe nailing and firm locking of clamps on adjustable props are to be ensured.
De-shuttering only upon the concrete reaching the necessary strength.

He himself writes how this study marked an important date in the history of construction. For the first time an architect thinks as an organizer, financier, engineer, inventor and artist, and achieves the lowest construction price ever seen. During the creation of this set F. Pouillon validates his sensations and his previous knowledge, implements ideas - which he had the opportunity to forge during his collaboration with Eugène Beaudoin during the war - on town planning and the insertion of a project in an emblematic landscape, experimented with the site coordination office, the principle of which he had just invented and which no one would do without now, created the solidarity group of companies (legal structure which has continued to the present day), studies in the smallest details the costs of construction simultaneously with the design, invents the technical sheath that we know, the cast stone (hard stone plates which replace the facade formwork), insulation phonics between apartments by the insertion in wavy waves of lengths of thick fabric between the partitions, the anti-mistral spanner (a cardan system), etc. No vertical reinforced concrete framework."

The Department of Civil Engineering, Mewar University organized an Industry Expert Lecture on Scaffolds and Formwork for Working at Construction Heights through hybrid mode.
Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor DrAlok Misra sir shared his views on modern construction works and how civil engineering is evolving day by day. He also told us how important engineers are for the country and society.
The keynote speaker of the expert lecture was Engineer Pawan Sharma, Deputy Manager-Civil Works JK Cement Limited Nimbahera. During the lecture, Pawan Sharma explained about parts and types of scaffolding for construction work, safety during tall construction like silos, personal fall prevention system, protection from falling objects, safety for falling material, and inspection during scaffolding work also shared his views about formwork, quality of formwork, 30 to 40 percent of project cost for formwork, major purpose and stages of formwork and timing of removal of formwork during construction!
The expert lecture was conducted by Assistant Professor Shashivendra Dulawat. During the welcome address, Dean Engineering Professor R Raja highlighted the relationship between industry and academia and the important role engineering plays during expert lectures.
Deputy Dean Engineering Kapil Nahar Sir, Assistant Professor Abhishek Upadhyay, Assistant Professor Subodh Kumar, Assistant Professor Rajesh Nirvan and civil engineering students were present. In the end, the vote of thanks was given by HOD Civil Engineering Dr. Esar Ahmad.
