"MORE STOREYS" 13x13x2x2 13 Terrace Houses 13 Owners  2 Storey Existing 2 Storey Extension Butlers Wharf, Tower Bridge London SE1 We have received planning permission for our designs for the extension to thirteen terrace houses for thirteen individual owners. The proposal is to extend upwards two floors, to the two existing floors. The site is constrained and within the conservation area of Butlers Wharf.  The form is simplified, respecting the vocabulary of the existing buildings and the context. Internally, the houses are customisable to each owners desire and need. The houses are prefabricated, manufactured off site and assembled with speed in this sensitive heritage area.  The houses are seen as part of of a series of projects we are working on which we are exploring a domestic simplified, scale and form. The Burning Man Temple is one of the most significant places held annually at the Burning Man festival, a portal for healing, sharing emotional experiences, creating profound connections with one’s own self and others and then watching it all burst into flames on the last day. Galaxia is shaped of 20 timber trusses converging as a spiral towards one point in the sky. The triangular trusses form different paths towards a central space holding a giant 3D printed mandala, the heart of Galaxia. The timber modules start large enough to hold small alcoves in which people can write in peace. As participants walk through the path, the timber modules lift up and become thinner and thinner towards the sky as people reach the central mandala. NEW PROJECT "Twin Townhouses - Zwei Stadthäuser" Brandenburg an der Havel, near Berlin. Design for a pair of town houses just outside Berlin, in the historic city of Brandenburg an der Havel. The principle form is a simple extrusion of the adjacent houses. The North facing street elevation can be closed down, to create a solid "fortified" elevation, creating a solid element, abstracting its presence on the street. The rear courtyard southerly side elevation is open and bright, whilst being able to be shut down with screens and shutters. The houses are designed to be future proofed, and easily re-configurable reflecting the changing lives of the occupiers. The houses are prefabricated, manufactured off site and assembled with speed on a sensitive historical site. The structure is engineered timber, CLT cross laminated timber.
