December 7, 2019 - Orange Chat (Epthianura aurifrons)
These honeyeaters are found in much of Australia, particularly in open shrublands and arid or semi-arid habitats in the interior of the country. They feed on invertebrates, such as grasshoppers, beetles, caterpillars, and flies, often foraging on the ground. Pairs breed in most months, sometimes nesting three or more times a year. Females build cup-shaped nests in vegetation near the ground where both parents incubate the eggs and care for the chicks.
