I waited a mind-blowing TWENTY-FOUR (24!!) years for Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess to be released in North America! I can't believe I had to wait twice as long as the amount of time elapsed in the plot between Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure and Rhapsody II!! I got the Marl Kingdom Chronicles box set, the full contents of which I'll show you another time. I'm loving the second game so far! I put some images and reactions under a cut to hide spoilers. Enjoy the cuteness! 🎺💖

+ Rhapsody II features Kururu and Crea, the daughters of Rhapsody I heroines Cornet and Etoile. Etoile is my favorite character from the original game and I'm finding her daughter especially hilarious already. I cannot believe Etoile named her daughter Createur!! It's not as if Cornet did much better though... Princess Kurusale Cherie Marl Q is quite a name 😂
+ One difference from the first game is that Rhapsody II has a more straightforward RPG battle system rather than a tactical RPG style. Also, summoning puppets to battle on your behalf now costs Inotium, the in-game currency.
+ Puppets from the first game appear in the second game, though sometimes they are at different ages than when Cornet first met them. Ledgem appears as a cute baby, for instance!
+ Unlike the first game, the songs in this second musical adventure appear with English translations but no English vocal tracks, as far as I've seen. The dialogue does feature some great English voice acting though. Crea and Kururu say surprisingly funny things in battle.
+ On the whole, Rhapsody II is living up to my hopes and I'm really excited to keep exploring!

Okay, I know that people on Tumblr tend to like wretched little creatures, but uh...
Tumblr media
This right here? Just trying way too hard. For one thing she seems to be around average height for her age (hard to tell with the art style really). And sure, there are some who would say 12 year old girls are mostly still somewhat small, it's not, like, smol small. Secondly, I hardly think we can call her wretched if she's part of the 0.001%. Like, I dunno where in the timeline the Rhapsody games fall in comparison to the Disgaea series, but considering how all of those shops are Rosenqueen branches and that series takes place over several worlds/dimensions... she is way too rich to be "wretched".
Still, can't rightfully say she's not a creature. It might be in fancy and all, but it's still in the name and everything. Seriously Etoile, what the heck? You must have been on them good painkillers when you were asked to name Crea.

Soon...
Soon the world will finally see these lost comics.
...By soon though I mean as soon as I find a translator and clean up the scans.
So maybe two weeks or more.
Glad I’m finally getting this done, and in the anniversary year of all things.

I wanna relive Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure again now that I remembered Etoile Rosenqueen exists and is incredible.
She looks like this and lives in a sort of fantasy universe with magic and all that but
Tumblr media
She somehow manages to carry heavy artillery in that dress of hers.

Little Princess Character Bios
NISA's website for Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles (originally known as Puppet Princess of Marl Kingdom: Little Princess II and Angel's Present: A Marl Kingdom Story in Japan) has updated to include brief character bios for Little Princess. Read them below the cut!
Princess Kururu
Daughter of Cornet and Ferdinand, she has a tendency to sneak out of the castle instead of studying! She hopes to find a prince of her own someday, just like her mother did.
Createur Rosenqueen
Daughter of Etoile. She is often referred to as “Crea”. She’s known Kururu since they were young and is her closest friend.
Cello
A mysterious young man who appears before Crea and Kururu while they're walking through the forest. He appears to be a little rude!
Randy
A young knight who works at the castle. He decided to be a knight so he could learn to be strong and protect his loved ones.

Etoile truly is Best Mom! Not only is there an entire sidequest about Crea finding out she's adopted and coming to grips with how blood doesn't matter as long as love exists within the family, but she just shelled out an EVEN MORE POWERFUL GUN for her daughter to wield in combat! Yes, Etoile Rosenqueen gives her 12-year-old kid high quality firearms.
And Cello needs a hug...I know how his story resolves itself but at this point in time he definitely needs a hug!
