Here's a Bucket-Wheel Excavator I build and painted for Necromunda Ash Wastes. If I can I'm going to use this as a Skalvian Explorator for my Squat Prospectors, but if it's too big I'll just use it as a terrain piece.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just like the rest of my Squats, I added a bunch of dirt and rocks being sent from the buckets down the conveyor belt. Among all the rubble are a bunch of power crystals and skulls.

What's coming to be my catch phrase was deployed at work again this week: "what were the Bronze Age fuckers doing this time?!"
The answer to that question this time is, leaving disarticulated human remains all over the place, causing vauge panic on site as there Weren't Supposed to be human remains on site and now they're having to get an emergency license to excavate them.
Every single site that has had Bronze Age activity that I have worked on has had Something Weird going on. It is never the same weird twice

11 Types of Excavator Buckets [Infographic]
Excavator buckets are essential attachments that enhance the versatility and functionality of excavators in various construction, mining, and landscaping projects. Different types of excavator buckets are designed for specific tasks, making it crucial to choose the right one for your needs.
In this infographic, we will explore the various types of excavator buckets and their unique applications.
1. General Purpose Buckets
General purpose buckets are the most commonly used type of excavator buckets. They are versatile and ideal for digging, loading, and carrying materials like soil, sand, gravel, and clay. These buckets typically feature a flat edge, which is perfect for leveling and grading tasks.
2. Heavy Duty Buckets
For more demanding jobs, heavy duty buckets are the go-to choice. They are designed with reinforced structures and wear-resistant materials, making them ideal for handling abrasive and heavy materials like rock, concrete, and demolition debris. These buckets are built to withstand the rigors of tough working conditions, ensuring durability and longevity.
3. Rock Buckets
Rock buckets are specifically designed for quarrying and mining applications. They feature a stronger build with additional reinforcements and sharp, pointed teeth that can easily penetrate hard rock surfaces. These buckets are perfect for digging through solid materials and extracting rocks of various sizes.
4. Trenching Buckets
Trenching buckets are narrow and have a V-shaped design, making them ideal for digging trenches for utilities, pipelines, and drainage systems. Their design allows for precise digging with minimal disruption to the surrounding soil, ensuring clean and efficient trenching.
5. Ditch Cleaning Buckets
For tasks that require cleaning and maintaining ditches and channels, ditch cleaning buckets are the preferred choice. These buckets have a wider, flat-bottomed design and smooth edges, allowing for efficient scooping and leveling of loose materials. They are also great for finishing work and grading.
6. Skeleton Buckets
Skeleton buckets, also known as sieve or screening buckets, are designed with gaps between the teeth or bars. This design allows for the separation of fine materials from larger debris, making them ideal for sorting and sifting applications. They are commonly used in recycling and landscaping projects.
7. Tilt Buckets
Tilt buckets provide added versatility with their ability to tilt at various angles. This feature makes them ideal for shaping, grading, and finishing slopes and contours. They are particularly useful in landscaping and road construction projects where precise control is needed.
8. Standard Bucket
A Standard Bucket is a versatile excavator attachment designed for general-purpose digging and loading tasks. It features a durable construction with a flat cutting edge, making it ideal for handling materials like soil, sand, gravel, and clay. Commonly used in construction and landscaping projects, the standard bucket offers reliable performance for a wide range of applications, including excavation, trenching, and site preparation.
9. Grab Bucket
A Grab Bucket is a specialized excavator attachment designed for handling and lifting irregularly shaped or bulky materials. It features a clamshell-like design with two jaws that can open and close, allowing it to securely grab and transport items like rocks, debris, and logs. Ideal for demolition, waste handling, and material sorting, the grab bucket offers precise control and versatility in challenging environments.
10. Rake Bucket
A Rake Bucket is an excavator attachment designed for sorting and clearing debris, roots, and rocks from soil. It features a row of sturdy tines instead of a solid edge, allowing it to sift through materials and separate unwanted items. Ideal for land clearing, landscaping, and agriculture, the rake bucket is excellent for preparing sites and maintaining clean and tidy environments.
11. Excavator Thumb Bucket
An Excavator Thumb Bucket combines a traditional bucket with an integrated thumb attachment, allowing for enhanced grabbing and gripping capabilities. The thumb assists in holding and manipulating materials such as logs, rocks, and debris, providing greater control and versatility during excavation and material handling tasks. Ideal for construction, demolition, and landscaping projects, the thumb bucket facilitates efficient loading, sorting, and placement of various materials.
Conclusion
Choosing the right type of excavator bucket is crucial for maximizing productivity and efficiency on the job site. Whether you need to dig, load, trench, or sift materials, there is an excavator bucket designed to meet your specific needs. Understanding the different types of excavator buckets and their applications can help you make an informed decision and ensure optimal performance in your projects.
