You can also get automatic Discoverist status by being a World of Hyatt Credit Card (see rates and fees) holder.Explorist: Stay 30 nights, book 10 meetings and events or earn 50,000 base points (the equivalent of $10,000 in spending).Globalist: Stay 60 nights, book 20 meetings and events or earn 100,000 base points (the equivalent of $20,000 in spending).HYATTWhile it's still a far cry from all of the amazing benefits you'd get with Globalist status, I've been very pleased with my experience as an Explorist. In 2024, we would book one-night stays at our local Hyatt Regency and alternate who got to take a night off from parental duties and enjoy a quiet night to themselves downtown.How to maximize points, even when you're not travelingEarlier in the year, I estimated I'd end up about 10 to 12 nights short of hitting 30 qualifying nights needed to hit Explorist status, so we set out to book a room at our local Hyatt about once per month.We're fortunate to have a very nice Category 1 Hyatt hotel in our city. You can usually get a standard room at these lowest-tier Hyatt properties for 5,000 points per night, or 3,500 points for off-peak nights. And what's great about World of Hyatt is it's one of the few hotel programs that still publishes an award chart, so you can see ahead of time which nights have standard, peak or off-peak rates.Each month, we would look at our plans and compare award rates at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. This enabled us to scoop up as many nights as we could at the off-peak rate, which worked out to be the vast majority of the nights we booked. World of Hyatt Extends Status Challenge to AAdvantage Elites https://ift.tt/R1nUTSD   The hotelier announced a new promotion offering 90 days of Explorist status for all AAdvantage elite members, with the opportunity to move up to Globalist through February 2025.   Potential World of Hyatt Elite Level Based on AAdvantage Status Under the promotion, which started on September 12, 2023, flyers who have their American Airlines AAdvantage account linked with World of Hyatt can register for the status challenge. Registration for the challenge is open through November 30, 2023.   Once a flyer has opted in, they will receive World of Hyatt Explorist status for 90 days, starting from the registration date. During that time, travelers must have 10 tier-qualifying nights to keep Explorist status through February 2025. Normally, guests must stay 30 tier-qualifying nights, earn 50,000 base points, or host 10 meetings to earn Explorist status.   Flyers who are in the AAdvantage Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum tiers get an additional status challenge. If those flyers earn 20 tier-qualifying nights during the 90-day challenge period, they can earn the top-tier Globalist status. Earning Globalist in a qualifying year normally takes 60 tier-qualifying nights, 100,000 base points, or 20 meetings.   Travelers can earn tier-qualifying nights by booking eligible rates or award nights through the World of Hyatt website.
