Yves Saint Laurent was not just a fashion designer; he was a true visionary, a creative genius, an artist who revolutionized the world of fashion. He was born in 1936 in Algeria, and from a young age, he showed a keen interest in fashion and design. He moved to Paris at the age of 17 to study fashion, and from there, he began his journey to create a legacy that would last for generations.
Yves Saint Laurent was a man ahead of his time. He was the first designer to create a ready-to-wear line, making high fashion accessible to the masses. He was also the first to incorporate non-European cultures into his designs, drawing inspiration from places like India, Africa, and China.
His work was not just about creating beautiful clothes; it was about creating a statement. He used his designs to challenge the norms of society, to push boundaries, and to make a statement about the world around him. He created clothes for women that were both powerful and sensual, clothes that spoke to their strength and femininity.
His legacy lives on today, not just in the world of fashion, but in the wider world of art and culture. His influence can be seen in the work of countless designers, from Alexander McQueen to Tom Ford, who credit him as a major inspiration.
Yves Saint Laurent's legacy is one of creativity, innovation, and beauty. He believed that fashion was an art form, and he used his designs to express his vision of the world. He was a true artist, and his work will continue to inspire generations to come.
But perhaps the most enduring legacy of Yves Saint Laurent is his belief in the power of fashion to transform lives. He once said, "I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women more beautiful but also to reassure them, give them confidence."
In a world where fashion is often dismissed as frivolous or superficial, Yves Saint Laurent's words remind us that fashion can be so much more. It can be a source of empowerment, of confidence, of self-expression. It can be a way to express our identity, to connect with others, and to make a statement about who we are and what we believe.
Yves Saint Laurent was not just a fashion designer; he was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. His legacy is one that will continue to inspire us, to challenge us, and to remind us of the power of fashion to change the world.
In a world that is constantly changing, Yves Saint Laurent's legacy remains a constant, a reminder of the enduring power of art and creativity. He was a man who dared to dream, who dared to challenge the norms of society, and who dared to create a legacy that would last for generations. His influence will continue to be felt in the world of fashion and beyond, and his legacy will continue to inspire us to dream, to create, and to change the world.

Good morning) how are you today? I was thinking about imagination and beauty when I’ve decided to post this runaway clip from @alexandermcqueen #AlexanderMcQueen Fall 1997. It was said not even few times but numerous by very different designers, artists, writers, directors, philosophers and I don’t start mentioning real shrinks... what we see and attribute as beauty is not the same as our neighbors accept it. What seems precious for one, surely will be bad taste or horror for someone else. Imagination can save the world from dullness... ??? It can bring it to dullness as easy, and dullness for 70% of people won’t be considered as a bad thing. It might keep them calmness, clarity and stability, comfort and easiness of life. It will be beautiful for them. Amazing opportunity to live fine. Meanwhile 30% will be struggling in different way to change and save the world, make it unpredictable, exciting... with clear extremums of ugliness and perfection that only their eyes can see as beauty. Beauty is relative. Classical art is amazing and perfect but it might be seen as boring because of its flawless quality. Beautiful woman with absolute symmetry of her face and harmony of it might be seen as dull, ordinary, because of lackness of clear imperfections. Ugly beautiful is sort of creativity that a lot of people can’t accept as art or beauty because they feel disturbed and frightened by ugliness part. They see it as an aggressive approach to change their life or their view on it, their mentality like it’s all is wrong and should be fixed somehow. While it’s theirs. Noone can or have a right to fix anything in other people minds. It’s free choice. What is unusual frightens one person but encourage to discover and explore the other. Mmmm... strange #morningthoughts anyway #haveagoodday here’s work of not just #leemcqueen but also hair by #NicolasJurnjack, mua #Topolino, jewelry by #ShaunLeane, style #KatyEngland @shaunleanejewellery @nicolasjurnjack @katy_england @armandvanhelden @topolino_makeup #britishfashioncouncil (video) @unforgettable_runway #artoffashion #beautyoffashion #historyoffashion #fashionlegacy #goodmorningpost #fashionasinspiration #beautyofwoman (at Lucca, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxWvUrvoP5F/?igshid=1u8ma208ehvva

@divina_ispirazione Dovima in "chapeau espagnol" (clearly influenced by Balenciga's fashion) by Tatiana du Plessix, New York, 1949. Photo by Irving Penn. Tatiana du Plessix Liberman was the leading hat designer for Saks Fifth Avenue for 20 years. Her original name was Tatiana Yacovleff, she was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, on May 7, 1906, into a professional family that found sanctuary in Paris after the Bolshevik Revolution. She studied painting and sculpture, but also learned millinery to earn a living. She was married to a French diplomat, Bertrand de Plessix, from 1929 until 1940 when he was killed by the Germans in their conquest of France. She fled to New York with their daughter in 1941 and began designing hats for Henri Bendel. Within a year, she joined Saks Fifth Avenue and became head of its custom hat salon, designing with the signature Tatiana du Plessix until its Salon Moderne closed in 1963. In 1942, the designer married Alexander Liberman, an artist and editorial director of Conde Nast Publications. Mr. Liberman was an adolescent friend and fellow Russian emigre in Paris. They kept close ties with friends from the Paris days and later with prominent Soviet artists who settled in the West, including Joseph Brodsky and Mikhail Baryshnikov. The couple's homes were also gathering places for friends like Salvador Dali, John Gunther, Marlene Dietrich and Christian Dior. Tatiana’s designs were often praised by fashion reporters as irresistible. In 1950, Virginia Pope of The New York Times hailed the milliner as "a perfectionist" in assembling both materials and colors and for artful originality in flattering women of many types. #dovima #irvingpenn #tatianaduplessix #milliner #saksfifthavenue #historyoffashion #fashionlegacy #hat #frenchamerican #design #1949 #eleonoradegray #runwaymagazineceo @runwaymagazines #runwaymagazine
