बॉलीवुड डेस्क (खुश्बू त्रिवेदी/ हिनाली मेहता). नेशनल फिल्म आर्काइव ऑफ इंडिया को 1957 में बैन हुई किशोर कुमार स्टारर फिल्म ‘बेगुनाह’ की रील मिली है। 60 साल पहले मुंबई हाईकोर्ट ने इस फिल्म के सभी प्रिंट को नष्ट कर देने का ऑर्डर दिया था। यह रेयर क्लिप बीते हफ्ते मिली, जिसमें म्यूजिक कंपोजर जयकिशन (शकंर-जयकिशन जोड़ी वाले) पियानो बजा रहे हैं, शकीला डांस कर रही हैं और प्लेबैक सिंगिंग में मुकेश ‘ऐ प्यासे दिल बेजुबान’ गीत गा रहे हैं। अमेरिकन कंपनी पैरामाउंट पिक्चर्स ने इस पर कॉपीराइट केस किया था और इसी वजह से कोर्ट ने सभी प्रिंट को नष्ट करने का आदेश दिया था।

एनएफएआई के डायरेक्टर प्रकाश मगदूम बताते हैं, 'कई लोगों ने कई सालों तक इस फिल्म की रील को खोजने का प्रयास किया। चूंकि यह हमारे पास भी नहीं थी तो हमने भी इसे एक्टिव होकर खंगालना शुरू किया। सभी प्रिंट्स नष्ट कर दिए गए थे पर मुझे यकीन था कि कुछ तो कहीं न कहीं बचे होंगे। हमें यह रील देश के कुछ सिनेमा प्रेमियों की बदौलत प्राप्त हुई है। यह खोज एक चमत्कार की तरह है। यह इकलौती ऐसी फिल्म है जिसमें जयकिशन ने मेजर अपीयरेंस निभाया था। हमारे पास 16 एमएम की दो रील हैं जो करीबन 60 से 70 मिनट की हैं। एक रील हमें दो महीने पहले और दूसरी रील हफ्ते भर पहले ही मिली है। दूसरी रील में वह गाना है जिसमें जयकिशन पियानो बजा रहे हैं और शकीला डांस कर रही हैं। रील की कंडीशन उतनी अच्छी नहीं है पर गाना ठीक-ठाक कंडीशन में है। इस रील में क्रेडिट्स नहीं हैं। अब हम कोर्ट के जजमेंट की कॉपी तलाशने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं जो कि काफी मुश्किल है।'

अमित कुमार ने कहा, 'प्रिंट को रिलीज करें तो बहुत खुश होंगे पिताजी के फैन्स'

किशोर कुमार के बेटे और बॉलीवुड सिंगर अमित कुमार ने इस बारे में बात करते हुए बताया, 'मुझे भी पापा की इस रेयर फिल्म की कुछ रील्स मिलने के बारे में अभी-अभी पता चला है। मेरे एक दोस्त जो दुबई में रहते हैं वे पापा के बहुत बड़े फैन हैं, उन्होंने मुझे इस बड़ी खोज के बारे में बताया है। उनकी ऐसी आठ नौ और ऐसी फिल्में ऐसी हैं जो किसी के देखने में आई ही नहीं हैं, बेगुनाह भी उनमें से ही एक है। यह फिल्म बनने के बाद अमेरिकन कंपनी पैरामाउंट पिक्चर्स के साथ एक कंट्रोवर्सी में पड़ गई थी। पैरामाउंट का आरोप था कि यह फिल्म उनकी फिल्म ‘नॉक ऑन वुड’ की कॉपी है। वे इसे लेकर बहुत स्ट्रिक्ट थे। उनका कहना भी सही था क्योंकि बेगुनाह में उनकी ‘नॉक ऑन वुड’ फिल्म को पूरी की पूरी जस का तस उतार दिया गया था। अब मेकर्स ने राइट्स लिए या नहीं वह मुझे पता नहीं, पर पैरामाउंट वाले इस मामले को कोर्ट में ले गए थे और मुंबई हाईकोर्ट ने ‘बेगुनाह’ के सभी प्रिंट को नष्ट करने का आदेश दिया था।'

'उस वक्त मैं केवल सात साल का था'

आगे उन्होंने कहा, 'यह मुंबई के रीगल सिनेमा में रिलीज हुई थी और मुझे अच्छी तरह याद है कि मैंने भी इसे देखा था। उस समय मैं केवल सात साल का था। यह फिल्म बहुत अच्छी चली थी, सेकेंड वीक तक तो इसमें पब्लिक उमड़ती ही रही थी। इसके बाद यह केस आ गया और फिर इसके प्रिंट खत्म ही कर दिए गए। इस फिल्म में पिताजी का एक बहुत अच्छा गाना भी था। मैं इस फिल्म के प्रिंट्स को बहुत सालों से ढूंढ रहा था। इसके अलावा पापा की और भी वे पांच-छह फिल्में जो हमने देखी नहीं हैं उन्हें भी हम ढूंढ़ रहे हैं। शायद इस जन्म में देखने को मिलेंगी या नहीं, पर इस खोज से हमें उम्मीदें जरूर बंधी हैं। पिताजी अक्सर इसके बारे में बात करते थे कि 'बेगुनाह' बहुत अच्छी जा रही थी पर इस केस ने इसे सभी को देखने से वंचित कर दिया था। इसमें शंकर जयकिशन जी ने काम भी किया था। इसके प्रोड्यूसर महीपत राय जी थे। अगर इस पूरे प्रिंट को रीस्टोर कर लिया जाए और यूट्यूब पर भी रिलीज कर दिया जाए तो यह किशोर दा के फैन्स के लिए बहुत बड़ा अचीवमेंट होगा।'

পাওয়া গেল কিশোরকুমারের নিষিদ্ধ ছবি

কমলেন্দু সরকার: ১৯৫৭, ৮ মার্চ, শুক্রবার। রূপকমল চিত্র কোম্পানির ব্যানারে মুক্তি পেল ‘বেগুনাহ’। পরিচালক- নরেন্দ্র সুরি। ছবিতে অভিনয় করেছেন– কিশোরকুমার, শাকিলা, হেলেন প্রমুখ। কিশোরকুমারের ছবির আলাদা একটা বাজার আছে চিরকালই। তাই ‘বেগুনাহ’-র ক্ষেত্রেও তার অন্যথা হয়নি। ছবি মুক্তির পর বেশ ভালই চলছিল। ঠিক দশ দিনের মাথায় তৎকালীন বোম্বাই উচ্চ আদালতের রায় বেরোলো। সেই রায়ে বলা হল, ‘বেগুনাহ’ ছবির সমস্ত প্রিন্ট বাজার থেকে তুলে নিতে হবে এবং নষ্ট করে ফেলতে হবে। অর্থাৎ কিশোরকুমারের ছবি ‘বেগুনাহ’ নিষিদ্ধ। এটা ঠিক বিনামেঘে বজ্রপাত ছিল না প্রযোজকের কাছে। তার কারণ, ‘বেগুনাহ’ ছিল প্যারামাউন্ট পিকচার্সের ‘নক অন উড’ (১৯৫৪) ছবির আদলে। ‘বেগুনাহ’-র চিত্রনাট্য কার ছিলেন আই এস জোহর। প্যারামাউন্ট পিকচার্স ভারতে বোম্বাই উচ্চ আদালতে মামলা করল ‘বেগুনাহ’-র বিরুদ্ধে। মামলায় হেরে গেলেন ছবির প্রযোজক শাহ ভাইয়েরা। বোম্বাই উচ্চ আদালত রায় দিল ‘বেগুনাহ’-র সমস্ত প্রিন্ট বাজার থেকে তুলে নিয়ে নষ্ট করে ফেলতে হবে। আদালতের রায় তাকে তো মান্যতা দিতেই হবে। ‘বেগুনাহ’-র সমস্ত প্রিন্ট তুলে নিয়ে নষ্ট করে ফেলা হল। কিশোরকুমারের নিষিদ্ধ এই ছবি নিয়ে প্রচুর খোঁজখবর করতে লাগলেন সিনেমাপ্রেমীরা। তার কারণ, ‘বেগুনাহ’ ছিল একমাত্র ছবি যেটিতে সংগীতপরিচালক জয়কিষাণ অভিনয় করেছিলেন। এবং পিয়ানো বাজিয়ে গান গেয়েছিলেন। প্লে-ব্যাক করেন মুকেশ। ‘আয়ে পিয়াসে দিল বেজুবান’ গানটির সঙ্গে পিয়ানো বাজাচ্ছেন জয়কিষাণ। নাচছেন শাকিলা। সেই ‘আরপার’, ‘সিআইডি’-খ্যাত শাকিলা। তাঁর তখন বেশ নামডাক হয়েছিল। কিশোরকুমার তাঁর স্বভাবসিদ্ধ ঢঙে প্লে-ব্যাক করেছিলেন ‘আজ না জানে পাগল মনওয়া কহে ঘাবরায়ে’। আর চমৎকার সুর এবং লতা-মান্না দ্বৈত কণ্ঠে চমৎকার গেয়েছিলেন ‘দিল অলবেলা প্যার কা মৌসম’৷ ‘বেগুনাহ’-র তালাশে ছিলেন অনেকেই। জানা গেছে, ‘বেগুনাহ’-র ১৫ মিমি একটি প্রিন্ট পাওয়া গেছে। তবে সেই প্রিন্টের অবস্থা খুবই খারাপ। শুধু জয়কিষাণের পিয়ানো বাজানোর দৃশ্যটি রয়েছে অটুট। শোনা যাচ্ছে, চৌঠা অগস্ট কিশোরকুমারের জন্মদিনে ছবিটির মুক্তির কথা ভাবা হচ্ছে। পাশাপাশি ৬৩ বছর আগে বোম্বাই উচ্চ আদালতের রায়ের একটি কপি জোগাড়ের। কারণ, ঠিক কি ছিল রায়ের কপিতে সেটি দেখার জন্য। ‘বেগুনাহ’-র সমস্ত প্রিন্ট তো নষ্ট করে ফেলার কথা কিন্তু পাওয়া গেল কী করে! অনেকসময় আগে ৩৫ মিমি থেকে ১৫ মিমি-র প্রিন্ট করা হত। সেইসব প্রিন্ট গ্রামেগঞ্জে দেখানো হত। তেমন কোনও একটি প্রিন্ট হয়তো রয়ে গেছিল। যাইহোক, পাওয়া যখন গেছে তার রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের একটা ব্যাপার থাকে। সূত্রের খবর, তারই ব্যবস্থা নাকি করছে। ন্যাশনাল আর্কাইভ অফ সিনেমা।

Jugdish ke giraftaar hote hi media ke taraf se halla mach gaya ke Inspector khan ne MLA ke bête ko khoon ke ilzaam mein giraftaar kiya hai. Aur uss taraf Vicky ki begunahi ke bayaanaat hone lage TV, press, radios par. Gali gali log batein karne lage ke Vicky bequsoor hai usski behen ki rape kiya gaya etc.

TV wale Inspector Khan se sawaal karte hue poocha ke Vicky ka koyi pata mila bhi ke nahin. Khan ne jhoot mooth Vicky ke bataaye hue raatse par chalte huwe kaha ke abhi tak to koyi pata nahin Vicky ka magar shayad ab begunah saabit hone par saamne aega jahan kahin bhi hoga.

Udhar commissioner Raghuveer aag babula ho raha tha aur Khan ko istifaa dene ke liye kaha. Aur Khan ne ussko kaha,

“Istifa main nahin aap doge commissioner sahab, aaj raat ko koyi aap se milne wala hai ghar par hi rehyega please bahot hi important meeting hogi aap ki kissi ke saath. Weise fikar karne ki koyi zaroorat nahin aap ki faede ki meeting hogi. ” Yeh bhi Vicky ne Khan ko Raghuveer se kehne ke liye kaha tha.

Vicky ne Mathur sahab se 2 crore rupay mangwae ek din ke baad aur uss raat ko commissioner Raghuveer ke ghar uss se milne gaya. Commissioner sahab Vicky ko dekh kar hakbaka gaya aur iss liye ke usske bhatije ne qubool kar liya tha ke ussne aur usske saathiyon ne milkar Vicky ki behen ka rape kiya tha aur khud Vicky ko bequsoor thehra diya gaya tha to commissioner sahab diplomatic muskurahat ke saath bahon ko pheylaaye Vicky ke taraf badhte hue kaha,

“Are are Vicky beta ao ao mujhe pura yakeen tha ke tum bequsoor ho, bhala tum jeise mahaan businessman apni behen ke saath eise ghinawne harkat kar hi nahin sakta ao baitho baitho.”

Vicky akela nahin tha, Mathur sahab, aur 4 account officers saath the usske office ke taraf se. Ek ke haath mein Vicky ne hidden camera diya tha sab film utaarne ke liye. Sofe par baithne ke baad ek zimedaar businessman ki tarah Vicky ne gambhir awaaz mein commissioner se kaha,

“I am here for business dear commissioner Sir. Mujhe pata hai aap kitne bade ghoos khaur hai aur main aap ko paise dene aya hoon ke aap apni naukri se istefa dein aur desh chorr kar hamesha ke liye Canada ya Australia chale jayein aur araam se baaki ke zindagi guzarein!”

Yeh sunkar Raghuveer ne ek ajeeb sa mukurahat choddte huwe kaha,

“Kia baat karte ho Vicky sahab! Bhala abroad jane ke liye aur baaki ke zindagi guzaarne ke liye jitna maal ki zaroorat padta hai woh kia aap doguey mujhe? Eisa to ho hi nahin sakta main nahin manta hoon ke aap eisa kar sakte ho? Aur mujhpar itni meherbaani kyun bhala?”

Vicky ne jawaab diya,

“Yeh meherbani sirf iss liye ke Inspector Khan jeise imaandaar officaron ke kaam mein aap rukawat bante ho! Desh ki taraki mein aap rukawat bante ho. Main hoon ke apne maal o dawlat se desh ke liye jo kuch ban padta karta hoon aur aap sakaari maal khate hue bhi sarkaar ke kaamon mein dakhal andaazi karte rehte ho. Main aap ko munh mange rakam dunga taake aap chale jaen aur hamare desh ko aguey badhne ka mawka milen!”

Raghuveer ne apne chehre par apne haath ko sakhti se ragadhte hue, apne peshaani par pasine ki ek patli se lakheer ko ponchte hue, apne gale ko saaf karke bola,

“K…..KI……Kitna paisa de sakte ho mujhe?”

“Jitna aap ne kabhi socha nahin hoga!”

“Phir bhi main sunna chahta hoon ke kitna doge?”

“Aap batao kitne ka khwaab dekh sakte ho”

“M m….. ma….. main kuch nahin jaanta aap saaf saaf bolo kitna doge aap mujhe?”

Tab tak jissko record karna tha woh sab record kar raha tha.

Aur Vicky ne jhoot mooth ke ghussa karte hue bola,

“Dekho commissioner saahab, ghar aaye lakshmi ko agar aap nahin swikaarna chahte ho to main chalta hoon mujhe waqt barbaad karne ka koyi irada nahain…..”

Yeh sunkar commissioner ki laalach badh gayi aur dogle muskurahat ke saath kaha,

“Aap ke iss bag mein kitne hein Vicky sahab? Kia aap iss mein mere liye maal laaye ho? Aap to multi billionaire ho, aap to kuch bhi de sakte ho…dekho agar itna de diya ke main baahar ke mulk mein ek ghar kharid kar baaki ke zindagi araam se jee sakun to phir thik hai main istefa de deta hoon aur aap mujhe maal de dejiye……”

to Vicky ne phir bhi poocha,

“Are aap boliye to kitna chahiye aap ko aap ki maang kia hai? Agar paisa kum hai main abhi aur mangwata hoon….”

Raguveer bola,

“EK….. hehehehe….. agar ek crore miljata to kaam ban jata Vicky sahab. Hehe”

Vicky ne bag usske goad mein rakhte hue kaha,

“Iss mein do crore hai Raghuveer sahab. Aap ek to kia 5 makaan kharid sakte ho iss se, rent kar sakte ho aur baaki ke araam se uda sakte ho.”

Raghuveer ne bag lete hi jaldi se ussko khola aur noton ko apne donon haathon se nikaal kar apne chehe par malte hue kehne laga,

“Are itne paise ane ke baad kaun uss sadele commissioner ki naukri ko karega ab, laat maarta hoon uss naukri par, nahin chahiye woh do paise ki naukri thoo!!”

Sab kuch record kiya jaa raha tha.

Bus, usske baad Vicky nikalne laga aur mudhkar Raghuveer se kaha, “Bhoolna mat, apni istefa abhi ke abhi jaakar rakh ana police headquarters mein.”

Aur jeise Vicky wahan se nikla, baahar Inspector khan wait kar raha tha uss record ki gayi video ki, jissko lekar woh minister ke yahan gaya aur sab dikhaya phir turant commissioner ko giraftaar karne ka warrant nikala gaya aur Khud Khan gaya commissioner Raghuveer ko arrest karne ko!

Ab kia kahen ke kia aalam tha jiss waqt Inspector Khan gaya commissioner Raghuveer ko giraftaar karne ko TV aur press walon ke line apne piche lekar! Raghuveer ke samajh mein nahin araha tha ke kia Karen ya kahe! Kabhi kehta ke “Main to istefa dene jaaa raha tha, main ab commissioner nahin hoon ….. Dekho Khan tum abhi bache ho tumko kuch nahin pata ke zimedaari keise nibhaayi jaati hai, yeh ghalat kar rahe ho, main, main tuumko seekhata hoon dekho kitna maal mila hai lo, lo tum bhi iss mein se maal batorlo aur nikal chalo dhire se…hehehe lo lo chalo baant lete hein hmm thik hai? Ache bache zid nahin karte, ao ao donon mil bantkar khaate hein ….”

Tab tak Khan ne hatkadi Raghuveer ke kalaayi mein pehna diye aur ussko khinchte huwe jeep ke taraf lejane lage jab ke Live TV broadcast ho raha tha sab kuch. Raghuveer apne chehre ko apne bahon se chupaane ki koshish karte hue jeep ke taraf Khan ke piche piche jaa raha tha……

However I did feel that an article written with a lot of soul searching on RK SJ music and sans RK, SJ's music with Lata playing the spoil sport in attributing all credit to RK would be appropriate in this context.Celebrations at the felicitation function of "Ram Teri Ganga Maili" Everything was nicely spruced up, as Lata's turn came for her speech, and she broke the calm, storming, the minds of a stunned audience, as Lata credited all of RK Film's music to RajKapoor irrespective of whoever the Music Director was, much to the embarrassment of Ravindra Jain, aghast at the statement, sitting tongue in cheek in the front row at the function hall. Possibly Lata spoke , being part of the creative process of the music of RK Films, surfacing the stark reality of RK's involvement and to a great extent in being the tune-smith who shaped and molded the RK style of music through SJ. But in reality was it the RK style of music that eventually got evolved or the SJ style of music ? is debatable, in as much as SJ strode royally even outside the RK orbit and scored brilliantly, returning back to their homeground, always with a refreshed stock, added versatility, finer nuances, experience and richness, much to the delight and benefit of RK which inspired him into newer ventures. Admittedly, RK was conscious of these ground realities and on more than one occasions stated the universally known truth, that SJS&H were the four pillars on which the RK edifice was built and stands with its head high dazzling in its awesome & shining splendour. "Take away the songs from my films and the soul is lost" an emotion driven Raj exclaimed, obviously giving conscious credibility to the intrinsic value of the contributors, making the Lata statement further, curiously ponderable in the light of Raj's own candid revealations. Over the years I was tossed between RK Films and its music, turning inwards soulfully in all earnestness, the debate whether RK Films have registered in you through it's music? or the music entered you, through the films? and gradually, the critical and sublime truth dawned on me that it was the former, through their dazzling display of music for all time and that is where SJ stands tall, with their head high, through their musical virtuosity, manifesting in all its shining splendour, irrespective of what ever claim or credit ,any one may think of. Let us further explore, to obviate any sanctity and credibility of Lata's statement, the contribution made by SJ outside the RK orbit, with some of the popular banners and celebrity Directors ,as you can mentally recall and work out a spontaneous evaluation of some of the most euphonious musical scores, enlisted . As we surf, we will find to start with, a very formidable Mars and Movies banner, embedded stealthily in your subconscious pysche , surfacing a deep & sensitive bond with SJ, which gave some amazing and fabulously, awesome music, giving you the semblance, as the nearest RK -SJ combo, if not superior. with Daag, Patita,Badshah,Seema, Kathputli, Apne Huye Paraye, Pagla Kahin ka, etc Others in succession with equally brilliant music composed to suit the theme and focus of the listeners / viewers. SJ with FCMehra : Ujala, Singapore, Professor Amrapali, Prince, LalPatthar etc, SJ with Kishore Sahu : Kali Ghata, Mayur Pankh, Kismat ka Khel, Dil apna aur Preet Parai, Hare Kaanch Ki Chooriyan, etc SJ with LVPrasad,: Choti Behan, Sasural, Hamrahi, and Beti Bete, SJ with Hrishikesh Mukherjee : Anari, Asli Naqli, Saanjh aur Savera. SJ with Subodh Mukherjee : Love Marriage, Junglee, April Fool. Sj with Bhappie Soni : Janwar, Brahmachari, Tum Haseen Main Jawan; SJ with others : Rajhath (Sohrab Modi), Yahudi (Bimal Roy), Zindagi and Arzoo (Ramanand Sagar), Teesri Kasam (Basu Bhattacharya), Hariyali aur Raasta (Vijay Bhat)' Dil ek Mandir (Sridhar) Films simply synonomous with SJ's music : Poonam, Chori Chori, Basant Bahar, Halaku, New Delhi, Kahin aur Chal, Begunah, Kanhaiyya, Main Nashe Me Hoon, Aashiq, Raat aur Din, Aas ka Panchi, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Suraj, Gumnam, Love in Tokyo, An Evening in Paris, Gaban,Mere Huzoor, Jhuk Gaya Asman and many others SJ;s legacy carried forward : Inevitably RK being obsessed and hooked on to this SJ Style, carried this legacy further to his forthcoming films and to vouchsafe success, only needed some MD, to conduct the music from these extracts of SJ 's from his stockpile, accumalated over the camaraderie sessions of yesteryears . Though getting into the sanctum sanctorum of SJ in RK Films was a huge prestige and considered privilege of many MD's, they soon realised much to their consternation, this bane as LP atleast backed out after Prem Rog, giving place to Ravindra Jain to face the aftermath of such feelings sitting in the front row at the felicitation function. Hence the tears which got hold of Raj's eye's on the day following Shankar's demise was symbolic of this trauma as he paid glowing tributes to his salad days composer in the vividh bharati programme on how spontaneously Shankar had composed then and there the opening lnes of "Hoton pe sachai rahtee hai " which as I recall are just the ideal lyrics and composition,humanity can ever conceive of , as Shailendra and Shankar have spontaneously cruised at.
