VCM II & VCMM Device Software (“VCI Software”)

VCI Software

Previously, installing IDS or FDRS would install everything that is needed in order to use a VCM II/VCMM with any of the Ford diagnostic software (IDS, FDRS & VMS). There is now a new package separate from

IDS and FDRS, called VCI Software.

This VCI Software package WILL NEED to be downloaded in order to use your VCM II or VCMM, regardless of whether this is the first time you have downloaded IDS/FDRS.

This will improve download and installation time, as previously you were downloading and installing these components with BOTH IDS and FDRS.

You WILL NOT need to download and install this package every release, only when there is an update to the loaded code on the device.

VCI Launcher

When launching the VCI Manager, you will be prompted to select which device (VCM II or VCMM) you intend to use.

Only the devices of the selected type will appear in the VCI Manager. If you wish to switch device type, you will have to close the VCI Manager and select the other device.

Note: If the device is already connected via USB, you will bypass the selection screen.

Changes to IDS

IDS now requires you to select your device type at the launch of IDS.

If you wish to switch devices while in IDS, you need to navigate to what was previously the Wireless device manager (the green arrows in the upper right hand corner), select the button at the bottom left which says “VCI Type” and select which device you wish to use. You can do this at any time while in the IDS tool.

Note: It is recommended if you previously pinned IDS to the task bar, that you unpin it in R115, and then re-pin it while on the device selection screen.

VCI Software Uninstaller

There is now a new component included in the VCI Software package called VCI Software Uninstaller.

This gives you the ability to uninstall all Ford Diagnostic components (IDS, FDRS, VMS, CFR, and VCI Software) from one central location, rather than having to uninstall each component individually.

This uninstaller can be accessed by going to StartFord Motor CompanyVCI Software Uninstaller. After following the prompts, you can select which software applications you wish to uninstall.

Note: If you are removing all components, it is recommended you select “Remove Uninstaller Data” to remove successfully all Ford components from the PC.

This article comes with an eastern European customer who bought Ford VCM 2 Diagnostic Tool (Item NO. SP177-2) that have this Module Programming & Configuration Timed Out Error.

Firstly, let’s check what he is saying:

Hi, Enclosed are a set of 7 pics, and Ill start with explaining what it is that I need to do...   The Original PCM is no longer available to us and so a manual programming of the PCM MUST be COMPLETED... Keys must also be set for truck to operate... All Input values are known and ready to be uploaded to the PCM... The Exact process of programming may or may not be correct So Correct any Flaud Step that maybe the reason that this is not working correctly

IDS The VCM2 is Found and Connected and Handshaking is establishe and Varrified by Acknowledgment through IDS Software...  Within the IDS GUI, after the establishing and the successful connection with IDS, and Downloading the PCM's Internal saved data... Next Selecting the "Toolbox Icon" (Left side top 3rd Icon) I select "Manual Programming" and hit the "Check", After a couple seconds an Error occurs:

I did attempt to download and install the Genuine Ford Update at www.motorsportservice.com but update Fails with "Wrong Version Found" This Update will update Ver 123.01 to 123.05 only (there is a Pic included on the desktop of the update) This Ver is 115.01

What I need to know is Can this IDS UPDATE, or Is there a work-a-round or method of programming a PCM With this Hardware/Software Comb as it sits out of the box... Please Advise...  Thank You in Advanced, your help is much needed and appreciated

Install Ford IDS V100.01 Software for VCM II Clone

The engine has released the newest software version of clone ford vcm ii IDS V100.01 recently. Here is the instruction of installation step by step.

Software Version:IDS V100.01 Tools Required: laptop with windows xp V100.01 CD

Step 1:Install VMware workstation Open ford ids V100.01(E)/VMware-workstation-full-10.0.3-1895310.rar

Accept the terms in the license agreement,click next. Choose the setup type that best suits your needs

Click next to install to this folder or click change to install to a different folder.

Check for product updates on the startup Help improve VMware Workstation. Select the shortcuts for you wish to place on your system.

Click continue to begin the process. Please wait while the wizard performs the requested operation, This may take several minutes. Enter License Key from the txt file “VMware-workstation-KEY-Notepad”

The setup wizard has successfully completed its operations related to VMware Workstation. Click Finish to exit the wizard

Step 2: Create a virtual machine Copy “en-windows-xp.rar” in ford ids 100.01(E) to Local Disk (D) Create a new folder named Ford IDS 100.01 Open VMware Workstation on desktop, and create a new virtual Machine.

Select the type of configuration you want. Install from: installer disc image file(iso): D:\en_windows_xp.iso

Fill in install information from the txt file “VWware-workstation-KEY”

Name the virtual machine “FORD IDS 100.01” and located in D:\FORD IDS 100.01. Specify disk capacity, and split virtual disk into multiple files.

Choose Notepad to open file: FORD IDS 100.01. Vmx,and paste the data.

Save the file. Open VMware Workstation. Power on this virtual machine. Always do not show the hint again. Step 5:Install calibration C81.

Choose destination location

Click install to begin the installation. Calibration is configuring your new software installation. The installshield wizard has successfully installed Calibration, click finish to exit the wizard.

Step 6: Install IDS-91.01_full

Open IDS-91.01_full Choose setup language. Preparing the setup. Accept the terms of the license agreement. Select the destination drive. IDs is configuring your new software installation.

Update the database . The installshield wizard has successfully installed IDS, and click reboot to restart your computer. Open IDS on the desktop, and fill in the field below then click on the tick button to continue.

Synchronize the computer date

Step 7:Install IDS-100.01 Open IDS-100.01 Follow the steps

Step 8: Test the software

Open IDS-100.01 Start new session-all other. Establishing communication to PCM

Select vehicle specification.

Open powertrain engine. Equipped air conditioning
