dan and phil minecraft server!

as promised i've set up a creative server for us all to play around with. the goal is basically just to build a bunch of dan and phil stuff, kinda like some of those roblox games, and then in theory we'll show it to dnp although i'm sure they'll ignore us. we can try though.

i haven't planned shit out at all because i think it's more fun if we just go in and do whatever. if it gets too messy we can always move things around later using worldedit

(the server is unfortunately java only, at least for now)

my only rules so far are don't be a dick, don't ruin anyone else's builds, don't deliberately crash the server and don't make anything you wouldn't want dnp to see on the off chance that they actually do

right now the server can in theory hold up to 20 people at a time, which i think should be enough but if the servers struggle due to plugins or if somehow a lot of people want to play at the same time i Can upgrade it. i think this should be fine though, but we will see. i doubt that many people will be on at the same time, usually anyway

also again i have not set up much yet, so the server might reset a few times if i remember things i've forgotten to add

Hello! we are a hermitcraft inspired java minecraft server with focus on community, building and trading!

We have; mega bases, an active small scale player base, events, shopping district and even just some casual fun

we pride our group on all being friends, we VC, work on projects together and are always there to give helping hand

our seasons last a year, with this being our fourth year- the new season starts on march 1st! but you are able to sign up whenever you wish

Hello g/t folk and lurkers!!

If a modded g/t Minecraft server existed, would you be willing to join? I know there was some discussion and thought about it last year, but would people actually be willing to play on it if the server was up and running with Fabric?

Like, it’d probably be a server with a size mod and the bits and chisels mod so people could carve into the walls and make tiny structures. I feel like it would be a fun casual server to mess around with.

(Probably should note it would be Java edition because I have no idea how to setup cross compatible servers)

Shifting Stars Intro Post

Shifting Stars is a Warrior Cats based Minecraft Java Edition RPG server. I've been working on it for about a year now as the sole developer. It still is pretty far from finished, but I figure it might be fun to post about it here.

Features such things as thirst and energy mechanics, a leveling system, diseases/conditions, custom mobs, weather and seasons, and so much more!

I'll be posting about every feature individually over time. I'll be posting about stuff that's already been finished for awhile, but I'll also post the new updates as I finish them.

Also none of this stuff uses client-side mods so you won't have to download anything extra in order to join.

Grian opened his eyes carefully. Instead of his nook in the Hub, he was sitting in a small grassy meadow.

The idea of having a fic told through a coding script has been floating around in my head for a few months now? Originally, the idea was to have the entire fic written in code, using things like loops and if-statements to tell a story, but i quickly ran into problems with the code not working.

So, I took my story concept (At the time vaugley about Grian’s relationship with the Watchers and Hermitcraft) and then decided to instead make it into a story told through Grian’s Com, with him trying to hack in (So just the lines of code and then the last scene with Doc and Etho). I ended up adding the written bits inbetween because I wanted to add more backstory!

(Side ramble: The end scene was inspired by a story i wrote a while back for with one of my Hermitcitizens! Uhh it changed a lot from the original scene but I do think the vibes are still there!)

Back on track and onto the actual coding part of the fic! The lines of code Grian uses to hack in where written in JavaScript, because Java wasn’t as easy to read/understand. The hacking code was also just what I learned from bitburner because I don’t know how to hack!

The rest of the code was just written in Java because it’s Minecraft commands, even if its not fully realistic.

For the actual whitelist, I used the list of server members at the time (including people who where whitelisted but not particularly) which was probably one of the more tedious parts of writing, especially trying to organize it in a way that made sense

And then the actual formatting I don’t know HTML code very well so I decided to find a skin to use instead of making one! I couldn’t find a single skin dedicated to code scripts, and I knew that I really wanted to add one, mainly because i wanted it to look nice, and look like it was actually lines of code. Eventually I found UltraViollett’s Minecraft Chat skin. So, I just edited it a bit, and then did all the formatting (which was a lot of going back and forth between drafts to make sure it looked good!

Btw, wynncraft is a vanla server in minecraft that's free to play* and requires 0 mods :D (*as long as you have a copy of Minecraft Java)
