Did keith have a crush or like some type of feelings for James Griffin?

Because like I remember him being mentioned when keith was going in about people that he wanted to bite?? And considering that biting can be considered affectionate, is it possible that he felt something like that toward griffin?

Lmao yes!! Not in any way that Keith himself really recognised at the time, but it's my personal hc that though he and Griffin had a pretty volatile and antagonistic relationship, there was still something about it that pinged the galra part of Keith's brain like "ah yes,, a Challenger,, we must prove we are a Strong and Worthy opponent,, this is a Bonding Experience,," but obviously you can see how that perhaps did not translate all too well into teenage human hormones 😔

My Opinion on Lance from Voltron:Legendary Defender

Sooo I’m finally doing a post on everyone’s favorite character from Voltron, Lancey Lance the Amazing Ninja Sharpshooter. But sadly, Lance was thrown around like a dirty rag, and not shown any affection or attention by anyone (besides Keef <3), including the creators of Voltron. Dreamworks did Lance dirty, and I will never forgive them because of that.

1. Lance’s insecurities. Lance has shown that he is insecure many times throughout the show. For example, when he visits Keith to tell him that he wants to leave the team so he doesn’t become a burden to anyone, Lance explaining his feelings for Allura to the mice and NOT HIS ACTUAL FRIENDS WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM, and etc. If I’m not mistaken, Voltron is a KID’S show. This will probably influence kids to bottle up their emotions and to always try to make everyone happy, just like Lance attempted to do. Lance’s insecurities could have been handled with in a better way.

2. Lance and his ‘friendships’ with other characters. In the 1hr episode, “The New Alliance” we are introduced to Lance, Pidge, and Hunk, who are supposed to be friends (I mean in that episode they mostly spend time together, so it hints that they are friends?..) Anyways, as Voltron progresses, Lance is constantly made fun of, perhaps even bullied by the other paladins. The episode “The Hunted” is a perfect example of that. Near the end of the episode, Pidge (and I believe Hunk) make fun of Lance for his “natural stupidity” and Keith joins in saying “I know it’s fun to make fun of Lance” or something like that idk my memory is rusty. But Allura is the only one to come to Lance’s defense. Another moment is the “Garfle, Warfle, Snick!” episode. The paladins are playing against the Galra, and there is a point where ‘Zarkon’ says, “Hmm.. I’ll go with the dumb one!” which Lance responds by saying, “Whose that?”. During the episode Lance is constantly being corrected for saying the wrong answer or making a small mistake. Also, it seems like every paladin has a buddy with them. Pidge and Hunk are always together

Same with Keith and Shiro, and Allura and Coran. This leaves Lance being alone by himself, with no one to tag along with. I think the paladins don’t want Lance to be with them is because they think he’ll ask too many questions or something like that idk. Y’know the episode where Lance, Pidge, and Hunk all visit Allura and Lotor? Lance asks, after Pidge and Hunk leave him (what a surprise 😒) if they need help, to which they give Lance the silent treatment. Lance leaves with an upset expression on his face, and that made me FUCKING CRY. I thought he would at least hang with Pidge and Hunk because they seem like best friends in the first episode, but it seems like they’re not?.. Tho there is this one episode where the Garriosn Trio have fun by playing with a Galran robot they reprogrammed, but that is pretty much it. Lance being alone and made fun of breaks my heart, and not in a good way.

3. Allurance vs Klance. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. The old days of the Voltron fandom where shipping wars destroyed the show. But this time I’m dead serious when I say Allurance was one-sided. Allura has shown NO interest in Lance in the past 6 seasons whatsoever. Whenever he flirts with her she just gets annoyed and turns away from him. But now, all of the sudden, she has a liking for Lance after her dead ex-boyfriend Lotor died. On the other hand, Klance, actually has build-up and chemistry (as seen in the sunset scene, “We make a good team” scene, and so on.) Klance would have possibly been canon if weren’t for the toxic shippers in the fandom. In the end, Klance, despite all its popularity, was not made canon, and Allurance was rushed and made last-minute. Basically Allurance and Klance shippers were disappointed (at least most of them) because of how their ship was handled. But still, Allura would still view Lance as her second choice, no matter what. That’s why I support Klance,because I want Lance to be happy with someone who loves him back.

4. Lance’s Character Development. As a HUGE Lance stan, I was raging at how he was treated. First of all, the poor man barely gets any screen time. I mean he does get screen time, but it’s only when he’s with Allura or it’s just filler to lighten the mood in the episode. The only character development Lance gets is in Season 7/8, where he finally has a girlfriend. Dreamworks basically did this: “Oh! Let’s just forget about the other characters in the show and only give so and so character development and a character arc because they’re the most liked by the fandom!” (Cough cough PIDGE SHIRO KEITH IM LOOKING AT YOU THREE) I thought that this was straight up stupid. Why create a character if you’re not going to give them just as much attention than the other characters? At this point Voltron should just be named “The Keith, Pidge, and Shiro Show!”. It’s also angers me that everyone got what they wanted at the end of Voltron. Keith wanted to be loved by his family and all that bullshit and guess what? He’s helping other people do that (I kinda forgot what Keith did at the end of Voltron forgive me for any mistakes) Pidge was super smart and wanted to be a scientist; She became a scientist. Hunk wanted to be a chef; Now he’s leading his OWN FUCKING CULINARY CHEF ARMY. SHIRO WANTED TO BE AT PEACE AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? HE RETIRED. AND LANCE BECAME A FARMER WHEN HE WANTED TO BE A FUCKING GODAMN PILOT! I’m so sorry, but Lance retired when he was probably still in his late or early twenties. Not to mention he was constantly looked down upon and yelled at at the Garrison, so that’s prob one reason why he didn’t pursue his dream to be a pilot. But Lance should have lived his life and enjoyed it while it lasted before he retired.

5. Conclusion. I will never forget about Lance probably 70 years from now because of how lovable and funny he was. Some people have said that Lance was treated in such manner because the creators disliked him, others have said totally different things. It doesn’t matter about how you think about the character, it’s about how you develop and describe them. Lance McClain was betrayed, and I want to give him an extremely huge bear hug because of that.

I got one of my nephews to watch voltron and he pronounces kieth keef. He’s so adorable. His favorite character is Lance because blue is his favorite color. He’s colorblind, so he thought Alteans were an offshoot branch of the Galra. He’s so adorable.

Wow, I am overthinking this.

*giggle.* Imagine seeing Keef staring at you at 3am with big yellow glowy eyes and bat ears and fangs. And Lance walks in. And he sees it. And he almost proposes.

This seems to be a common thought that I have. Keith not being able to sleep so he hides in the kitchen?

Like, just think about it for a second. The castle is GIANT, bright, and everything looks the same. Also the walls are metal and completely smooth for probably 20 feet up, so they're unclimbable.

And when it's waaay early in the morning and your brain is fuzzy, people tend to do some weird crap. So Keef's Galra instincts would probably over. Which means kitty instincts. Galra= cat, cat=Galra, the words are synonyms in my head, I can't tell them apart.

SO. Naturally, he would want to go to a place with lots of small places, hiding spots, and climbable surfaces.

Sadly, his room is immediately ruled out. Despite it being a place intended for rest and security/familiarity, the canon images of the paladin rooms show that they are bare and do not have many potential hiding spots. There is a small trunk (?) next to the door, but Keith would keep his limited belongings in there and he seems to be too big to fit inside. Sure, his impulse would tell him to crawl inside, but the potential embarrassment of having to ask someone to pull him out outweighs that. His bed is exposed and there is no other furniture. Get some bookshelves! Please!

Ok the kitchen. NOW. I'm just gonna say, I don't love the design. Like, yes, I get it, for some reasons Alteans just HAD to be posh freaking minimalists and apparently never felt the need for the comfort of an enclosed space. If you're claustrophobic, this might not apply well to you, but I find that large spaces sometimes stress me out and I think better in a little corner or on a spot on the floor.

I think to start, the kitchen island thingy needs to be turned so that the person cooking is across from the door. As it is right now, someone could 100% sneak right in thanks to the door being conveniently placed right BEHIND the cook's line of sight.

Also, would it hurt to have the counter against a wall or something? It would divide the room nicely and make it look a a lot more cohesive and less like the animators were just trying to throw in a background for our characters. This is nice in some situations so that breathtaking backdrops don't take away from the characters, but have you ever noticed that they only appear in the kitchen maybe twice? That happened for a reason. If we had this dividing feature, you could put on a small table or some chairs along the long side of the counter! Why should our lovely Hunk have to cook in solitude? A good 50% of his character is centered around him seeing cooking as a love language and cooking with his loved ones.

Wow sorry I got off topic. Anyway, with these changes and maybe a bit more furniture and cabinets around the room (again, why are the walls so blank?) Keith would be very comfortable here. Maybe even comfortable enough to display Galra features because no one would expect to find him there so he would be well-hidden. Also, if the chairs along the counter were there, they face away from the door, so no one would see his Galra features.

Lets ignore the fact that this is a badly-drawn finger picture. But doesn't the whole room seem more put together? Lets say we take out the table for more space, it's still a much more effective use of this HUGE room that's being wasted by a random counter thrown in the middle.

If I may ask, perhaps headcanons/ideas of Ulaz adopting and raising a baby/toddler Earthling?

Why yes, you may 😊. That's actually a really cool concept and I could see him doing that 💖

~ Being the caring man he is Ulaz would definitely adopt a human baby

~ He always acts somewhat emotionless while around most people, but when it's just him and the baby he's a very affectionate adoptive father

~ If he needs help with something Krolia is the one to give him parenting advice bc she's taken care of a half human baby before (aka Keef) who was close enough to a fully human baby

~ Ulaz gives the baby plenty of regular baths, but occasionally he'll give them a tongue bath

~ He definitely carries the baby around in a baby sling all the time to keep them close

~ He's not ashamed to be seen out in public carrying his human son/daughter in a baby sling while also carrying a fully stocked diaper bag

~ Ulaz only trusts the other Blades to babysit his tiny human baby because they won't corrupt or harm them

~ He loves taking naps with the baby napping on his chest

~ Changing diapers is somewhat difficult because his hands are huge compared to a human infant, so he keeps his nails trimmed down a little more than usual

~ Ulaz prefers the baby to sleep in his bed, that way he can keep them close in case they need him

~ He's got plenty of little toys for the baby; he knows how important it is for babies to get a certain amount of mental stimulation every day

~ As the baby grows into a toddler Ulaz still carries them around in a sling bc they're clingy and he refuses to deny his adopted son or daughter the reassurance that he's there for them

~ He takes his time to encourage them to say their first word

~ He's so happy when their first word is papa

~ *cue happy galra sounds*

~ Toddler proofing his house for a human toddler is easier than expected, much to his relief

~ Ulaz' child had a somewhat hard time during their teething and transitioning to eating solid food stages, but with a little trial and error he helps them through their hardest days

~ Potty training was particularly difficult for his human toddler, but after a couple of months they get the hang of it

~ He's proud of them when they walk on their own for the first time

~ His toddler doesn't have very many temper tantrums unless they're sleepy or hungry

~ He prefers to raise them the galra way

~ The other senior Blades are honorary aunts and uncles to his toddler and the Paladins are more like distant cousins

~ Toddlers are known to sometimes take their clothes off, so Ulaz lets his toddler wear just their pull-up when it's just the two of them at home; he wants his them to be comfortable, especially if it's summertime

~ During shopping trips and when he takes his toddler to the park he packs plenty of snacks and a sippy cup of water

~ Ulaz might not have been a father before, but he does what he thinks is best when it comes to raising his child and it works very well

he trusts her and it scares her.

in another moment, at another time, she'd be proud she's managed to surpass keith's expectations. she's a brilliant girl, always wanting more, always with something to prove. and it's refreshing, empowering to be looked at like her words hold weight. to be treated like she's truly as smart as she is. that's the benefit of teammates close to her own age - they believe that she is capable and trust she is smart. here, amongst her team, pidge is no longer an outspoken child. but the trust it brings, so deep and so absolute, it terrifies her sometimes.

keith is asking for her opinion. its just the two of them, planet-bound. they're acting as support for a small militia who have held the line against the galra for months, all on their own. the people ( aliens, whatever. she reasons people just means those she meets who aren't trying to kill her, at this point ) are resilient and resourceful like she's never seen, keeping their planet theirs and free. they've been called in to help them remain so, in the face of the increasing intensity of galra attack.

pidge goes quiet sometime in their strategy meeting, and her face must betray that she's stuck on a thought that isn't sitting right, because keith notices. he's quick to suggest a break, and pulls her aside in the hallway to talk. he is asking for her opinion, and its at once all pidge has ever wanted and a greater burden than she knows how to bear. she's quiet for a beat, turns the thought over again in her mind, careful to be sure before she offers an answer. this is no longer some simulation or thought experiment. people's lives hang in the balance.

"i've just been thinking... why this planet? why such a dedicated attack on this planet?" it's a small, isolated outpost. such a steady, intense efforts to occupy this specific planet doesn't make much sense in the scheme of a war that is all about key footholds. why here? why now? there seems to be no reason for it, and pidge knows better than to think their enemy acts without a goal. "i can't say this is a trap or a distraction for certain, but it sure feels like one."

all her careful observations, her planning and strategy, it gives her some authority, she realizes speaking with keith. he trusts her to make a decision, and make a good decision. he trusts her to be smart enough to see what they don't, and to know what it means. maybe later, when the stakes don't feel so high, the thought will bring her pride. for now, she swallows any doubt, follows keith's lead and speaks decisively. like she knows this will all turn out okay.

"we can't afford to bring the others here, in case they're trying to draw our attention away from the fight somewhere else. this place isn't the galra's real priority. it can't be. so we should be able to manage with just the two of us." it feels surprisingly natural, speaking with conviction and being heard without hesitation. "we'll be ready. you and me - we can handle this."
