Logan loves being a “girl dad”

He adores his little princess

When she was a baby, he’d hold her all day long, ignoring people’s unasked for advice about “spoiling her” by holding her too much

“I’m going to spoil her for her whole life,” Logan would argue back, “This is just the beginning!”

And so it was

Your daughter’s first word was “Da-da”

And she would squeal with joy when he came home from work, squirming in your arms with her little hands out, reaching up for her Daddy

When Logan kissed you, she would smack his head and push you away by the forehead, babbling angrily

Logan thought that was hilarious

By the time she was a toddler, she was having tea parties with her Daddy every other day

Logan bought her some kind of high tech Easy Bake oven and she would make you guys all kinds of sweets

She had the best clothes, the best shoes, the best toys

You and Logan actually fought over who got to do her hair

She had a collection of bows in all kinds of colors that looked adorable on her

(ok, to be fair, everything looked adorable on her)

Logan let her draw on his face

He let her take your makeup and give him makeovers

He did spa days with the two of you, reading from the Business section of the paper outloud

Your daughter loved hearing about the stock market for some reason

Logan nearly burst into tears the day your daughter came home from kindergarten and declared she had a boyfriend

“He has brown hair and brown eyes like you, Daddy!” She reported

“I hate him,” Logan had said that night after she’d gone to bed

“Oh man, are you gonna be one of those weird Dads?” You asked back

“No!” He argued. “She’s a Delos, of course she’s gonna have lovers--”

“Ew”

“--but not like me! She needs a good man in her life!”

You melted

“Logan, you are a good man,” you said, petting his hair, “and she’s going to fall in love with someone who is just like you, because she knows how good you are...

...also, this boy she likes is barely 5; he is not a man.”

When you got older, and said you thought the girl in your 5th grade class was “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen”, you and Logan exchanged a look

“Huh,” you grinned, “you really are like your Dad...”

You and Logan gave her the talk together when she was a little older

And he made her promise to never lie to him, even if she thought he would be mad at her

“I promise,” she had said, linking her pinkie with his, “Besides, you know I don’t lie, Dad”

And she didn’t, especially not to him

Logan raised hell when the school said she couldn’t go to the dance with her girlfriend her freshmen year of high school

And he teared up when she came home the night they broke up, crying in your lap

He didn’t like her boyfriend after that, but you made him be nice to the kid nonetheless

And when your daughter came to Logan and asked how to break up with him, Logan stilled his excitement and gave her some advice

You and Logan sent her off to college with WAY more than she needed

And he paid for an apartment for her and your friends, saying the dorms were too disgusting for his princess

He sent her and your friends to Westworld as a graduation present

And when she came back, gushing over a pretty host, he sat her down and explained that they were just dolls

That had been a hard conversation, and he had to get very personal with his baby girl to get his point across, but after that

She hugged him, and he felt better

Logan was so proud the day she officially moved out

And he was even happier when she invited hergirlfriend to move in with her

On the day of her wedding, Logan is a mess

He jokes that he needs some Xanax, but really, he is overjoyed to see her so happy

He gives a speech that moves everyone to tears

And you can barely even see them when they do the father-daughter dance because you were crying so much

And as he watched her drive off with her bride, his arm around you, he smiles down at you...

...and thanks you for giving him such a beautiful baby girl and such a happy life.
