i have succumbed *throws my 'sonadow' fankid lore at you (note: i suck at summarizing so it's. very long.)

Her name is Nova Estelle, but since 'Nova' is a common name for sonadow fankids, I'll be using Estelle instead (tho she does prefer to go by Nova).

Estelle is an artificial biological lifeform created by G.U.N., made by using the remains of Shadow's (+ indirectly Sonic's) DNA and Black Arms DNA (present in Shadow and from what remains). Unlike Project Shadow (info shared between the ARK and G.U.N.), she was a top-secret project, highly protected and confidential. G.U.N. knew how Shadow would absolutely destroy them even before they could begin creating her so they had to keep it as hidden as possible. An accident happened in the facility which caused an explosion, leading to its downfall. Estelle remained preserved however and was in stasis until Shadow eventually found out about her.

In the abandoned G.U.N facility, Shadow found Estelle and freed her from her containment (she was around 3 years old then). Alarms sounded and alerted soldiers and it was soon swarmed with them. They thankfully made it out alive but Estelle was harmed as a stray bullet shot her ear (1). She's now mostly deaf (due to gunshots and explosions at a very young age) but one ear hears better than the other. Her first experience was literally getting shot at.

Due to Estelle still technically being a property of G.U.N., in order for Shadow to keep her, he had to sign an agreement with G.U.N. to (1) provide for Estelle and (2) allow him to legally be her guardian (even tho he could care less about the law). He reluctantly agrees but only because of her AND to repay his debts (not monetarily). Shadow now works for G.U.N.

Shadow is technically a single parent caring for his now 6 year-old daughter. Due to his agreement with G.U.N., he's forced to go on many tireless missions which leave little time for Estelle. Her usual caretakers / babysitters are Vanilla and Amy but when they're occupied, Shadow has no choice but to run to Sonic for help (he doesn't trust strangers, esp when it's HIS kid.) Due to how Estelle has grown a strong bond and attachment towards Sonic on the first day, Shadow decides to give him a chance at baby-sitting her when he isn't busy (which is most of the time). Eventually, he becomes her regular babysitter. Shadow always offers to pay him with rings but Sonic always denies them. Instead, he asks for more races (quality time, tho he wouldn't admit it).

Estelle regards Sonic as her second dad. She's aware of the complicated dynamic between Sonic and Shadow so she doesn't say it aloud. I hc Sonic naturally learns / knows basic sign language but Shadow had to learn it himself. Shadow is much more fluent than Sonic and teaches Estelle at a young age.

Estelle is homeschooled, hence an unfortunate extremely small social circle. She's friends with the other kids (e.g. Cream and Charmy) but besides that she's alone (only child). She makes do with this but it slowly eats her up without her realizing.

She loves astronomy because of Shadow. It's also the meaning behind her name that Shadow chose for her. vv

Shadow calls her 'My (little) shooting star' as a term of endearment. Sonic teases him about it.

Upon first impression, she's very meek and shy but she's an utter gremlin when she's comfortable with you (Sonic is fond of this, Shadow is NOT.) Grumpy baby. Very grumpy. Very spoilt. But she is mostly obedient just very… playful.

She's still very young at this time, not even adolescent. She's still learning about the world and how it works. All she wants is more company though.
