"STAND BACK, ALL! SOMETHING TAKES SHAPE WITHIN THE SWIRLING MIST!!"
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on the complete gatefold LP/poster artwork to "PTOOFF!," 1968 debut album by English psychedelic/garage/freak rock band THE DEVIANTS. Jack Kirby and/or Marvel-esque artwork by Pete "Kipps" Broxton.
"The lysergic wildness continues inside with an incoherent scene and the promise that "APSARAS" — is an Epic forthcoming — a marvel of the Universe— an illustrated saga of a Godwoman":
"The Free City of DEGSPA, in which rule the Enlightened One's of the Universe. They have been studying for thousands of Earth-years, the millions of solar systems. Today is the meeting of the greater council in which the friends shall be present to discuss the various problems confronting the Controllers of the Universe."

WELCOME TO TEX-MEX CUISINE HEAVEN IN THE SUPER-SEVENTIES -- HUNGRY YET, AMIGO?
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on THE greatest LP gatefold sleeve photo/artwork of all time? It's gotta be the Tex-Mex food porn/spread featured as LP gatefold artwork to ZZ TOP's 1973 "Tres Hombres" album.
ZZ TOP/FUN FACT: The spread was served at Leo’s Mexican Restaurant on South Shepherd in Houston, Texas. Leo rode with Pancho Villa before going into the restaurant business and had photo’s of himself, Villa and his bandoleros all over the walls of his place.
Anyway, was looking through my two-disc ZZ TOP collection earlier this morning when this most glorious image caught my stomach and I unawares. Yup, now I'm seriously craving some Tex-Mexican food -- the more inauthentic, greasier, cheesier, unhealthier, THE BETTER!! haha!
"Tres Hombres" album cover design by Bill Narum. Photography by Galen Scott.
