Donna

I'm writing a fic about Donna Berzatto that I have been avoiding like the plague since the very first time I watched Fishes.

The reason being, for me keeping this -her- at arm's length: I find her character so very dark, so very toxic, and yet soooo "redeemable", with so much potential for light when she finally lets that happen to her. As Storer says: it's all in the details and the show is about the found family, so I always wondered: How could I make that fic a solid, happy ending, easy-to-read, Sydcarmy-themed fic, without falling into all the common places I could easily fall into? (Places I have already dived into in some of my other fics BTW, like i.e.: Therapy/rehab). And I could find no crystal clear answer, at least not one I could put the time and the energy into, which is what it takes to write a fic, even a one-shot. So, months went by and I couldn't let myself dive into her mind to figure her out well enough to write a whole fic about her that revolves around SydCarmy too, with equal focus.

All of that changed yesterday. Life imitates art and plot twists are as real IRL as death and taxes.

So here I am, writing my hopefully IC enough Donna into existence. Stay tuned. Or not, because it's not gonna be pretty nor condescending, it is meant to be Storer-friendly though, so... Let's see what I can craft.
