Fresh Fruits Export from Pakistan
Green export production is easily acquired and exported around the world, thanks to export facilities and staff in all major continents. To give the best approach to Fresh Fruits Export from Pakistan, our organization combines years of experience with some new ideas. We take pride in operating professionally while still providing personalized service. Understanding customer requirements, we feel, is critical to the successful implementation of export projects. We try to meet and surpass our customers' expectations by providing the highest quality products and services.
As agriculture is Pakistan's largest industry, it can also help to improve the country's trade balance. It's a big industry that has to be broken down into different sectors, with a few less-explored regions in particular. As a result, we’ve chosen Fresh Fruits Export from Pakistan. There is a sizable horticulture export industry in Pakistan, despite its agricultural economy, which is only a minor player. In 1998, the worldwide horticulture market was valued at $77 billion. Fruit and vegetable sectors accounted for $60 billion of the $77 billion global horticulture import industry in 1998, while fruit and vegetable juices contributed $6 billion.
Cut flowers accounted for $5 billion, bulbs for $4 billion, and spices for $2 billion. Fruits took the lead with 40% of the vote, followed by vegetables with 38%, and fruits and vegetable juices with 8%. As a result, Fresh Vegetable exports from Pakistan make up a significant portion of the horticultural industry (86 per cent). Flowers take up to 6% of the market, followed by bulbs at 59%, and spices at 3%. Nature has blessed Pakistan a lot with land and a vast climate that are favourable to the cultivation of a diverse range of fruits and vegetables.
Punjab contributes 59.6% of the country's total yearly agriculture production, followed by Sindh at 8.6%, Balochistan at 25.6%, and NWFP at 6.2 per cent. Pakistani fruits and vegetables are very much in high demand around the world. Pakistan exports fruits and vegetables to the United States, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, India, and Sri Lanka at the moment. Mango, kino, apple, dates, pine nuts, oranges, and guava are some of the most popular fruits, while potato, onion, mushroom, garlic, and chilli are some of the most popular vegetables. Looking at the data, it is clear that Pakistan is significantly reliant on a single market for each commodity.
Following England and Saudi Arabia, Dubai is the most important market for Pakistani mango. For Pakistani fresh apples, Sri Lanka is the only major market. The buyer specifies his terms in this circumstance. To acquire decent pricing on Pakistani fruits and veggies, it is necessary to explore new markets around the globe. The Export Promotion Bureau is working hard to find new markets and help prospective exporters to expand their business. The most exportable fruit in Pakistan is kinoo, which accounts for 32.5 per cent of total exports to the Middle East, followed by Indonesia (22.5 per cent), the Philippines (16 per cent), Sri Lanka (11.6 per cent), and the remaining 17.4 per cent to other markets in the country.
Citrus fruit is ideal to protect guys from prostate cancer, according to recent London-based research (Dawn 1 1.11.2001), which Pakistani producers should capitalise on. Only 97 per cent of fresh apples are exported to Sri Lanka. There is no other market for apples under bad conditions. To keep up with the rising pricing, exporters must look for new markets. Citrus fruit is ideal to protect guys from prostate cancer, according to recent London-based research (Dawn 1 1.11.2001), which Pakistani producers should capitalise on. Fresh fruit and vegetable markets in Europe are vast and mature, with consistent demand. Europe's continued reliance on overseas sources is due to the necessity for year-round availability and desire for novel exotic goods. The off-season, as well as the increased demand for avocados, blueberries, mangoes, and sweet potatoes, provide the best chances. Competition for these items is typically severe, and ever-stricter rules, particularly in Northern Europe, put pressure on you as an exporter.
As much tropical product is dependent on specific seasons or tropical temperatures that are not available locally, Europe imports a large amount of fruit and vegetables. The majority of European buyers strive to develop a year-round assortment and seek perfect partners to help them do so. As an exporter, your best prospects will come when there are supply gaps or when you are a counter-seasonal supplier.
Producers all across the world, including those in Europe, are attempting to extend their season by introducing new types. Late hybrids such as Nadorcotts (or W. Murcotts) from Spain, as well as South Africa, Morocco, and Peru, are now responsible for much of the increase in mandarin production. Your window of opportunity may be influenced by these shifts in varietal choice.
To maintain a long-term business connection with our customers, we believe in "best quality at a competitive price." For additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Remodels, new builds and add-ons are booming. In July alone, the City of Palo Alto issued about 200 building permits for various home upgrades, everything from simple lighting improvements and installation of electric car chargers, to kitchen and bathroom updates, to the full deconstruction and rebuilding of a home.
So what goes on behind those (brand-new) closed doors in the neighborhood? Sometimes what's not visible is what makes the biggest impact when renovating a home: whether it's literally hidden away in the walls and ceiling, or more figuratively in the careful choice of materials and finishes — even in prepping for the technology that will keep it all running smoothly.
We talked to three local architects about about some of the newer materials, ideas and practices they've been incorporating in their work.
Tali Hardonag: Build and finish sustainably
Palo Alto architect Tali Hardonag, who has worked extensively on green building projects, draws on sustainable practices in her work, which among other considerations, includes the sourcing of materials.
When it comes to the fixtures and finishes of a home, she said, clients are thinking more about whether materials are sustainable. "Bamboo has become very popular, for example. Concrete surfaces, recently also porcelain, which we're familiar with as small tile pieces for the wall, is now coming in huge slabs so you can use it as a countertop material with no seams in it," she said
Innovations have made LEDs a more versatile option, closer to suggesting the warm glow of an incandescent bulb instead of its previous, perpetually chilly glow. "When you dim it, it actually does change the color (to a warmer hue). It used to be a specialty but now it's more affordable and available in more and more fixtures," Hardonag said.
Many clients are interested in incorporating LEDs or solar panels into their remodel, Hardonag said. To get the maximum benefit of these energy-saving components, she emphasizes making the home itself energy efficient.
Higher-grade insulation — and the variety of systems for delivering it, from framing alternatives like structural insulated panels (SIPs) and other wall systems — play an important role in increasing energy efficiency. She said that more efficient insulation, such as spray foam, which is denser and creates a better air seal, also offers the opportunity for smaller framing. For example, she noted that previously, a vaulted ceiling would require framing out significant additional space just to accommodate traditional insulation but now she can build it with a shallower frame.
In addition to better insulation, Hardonag draws on an array of materials and strategies to make homes more energy efficient, including "cool roofs, high-energy value windows and glass doors, appliances and light fixtures that are energy efficient."
Cool roofs deflect the sun's heat and can save energy. Materials used for cool roofing include some composition shingles, depending on their makeup, and metal. Roofs made of metal offer additional benefits in easily accommodating solar panels and in being recyclable, if homeowners ever want to remove the roof.
Davide Giannella: Choose the right materials
Thoughtful choice of materials can put workhorse elements like roofing, fixtures and climate control systems and insulation on the cutting edge of architectural trends.
"I'd say greener products, special synthetic woods, modern cabinetry from Europe, newer HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), more sophisticated insulation, metal roofs, computerized appliances and perhaps acrylic panels (are the future of building)," said architect Davide Giannella, of Acadia Architecture in Los Gatos .
One of Giannella's recent projects, located off Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto, was a complete teardown and rebuild of the existing home. The five-bedroom house features imported cabinets, laser-cut metal panels for railings, and, to improve energy efficiency, rigid foam insulation and radiant ceiling panels for heating and cooling.
Giannella kept to the traditional roofline of the home's original colonial style, but modernized it with standing-seam metal roofing. "It lasts forever, it's fireproof, and it's sharp and modern. It's more expensive in the beginning, but it doesn't need to be repainted or refinished," he said.
Metal makes a sturdy roof, but it also provided this home with exterior railings that are both secure and striking. Laser cutting creates delicate, intricate patterns in metal panels that are thin, but still strong enough to be functional, Giannella said, noting that the process lends itself to customization. Powder-coating the metal means it won’t rust.
“It’s a solution that has been around in the commercial realm for a while,” he said.
Giannella also recently completed a new build off Skyline Boulevard in the Los Gatos hills that used SIPs, a form of prefabrication that assisted in expediting construction while increasing energy efficiency, sound insulation and reducing construction waste.
"The owners, being extremely hands-on people and strong believers in sustainability, very tech-savvy, were the actual proposers of the SIP framing concept," he said.
Conventional framing uses individual wood studs, assembled onsite, while SIPs are pre-made panels created from foam core sandwiched between two boards. When they arrive at the build site, the panels are bolted together, quickly creating an insulated frame.
"SIPs are a framing solution that is ideal for less temperate climates, places where the temperature swings are more dramatic than we usually find here, so they tend to be more widely adopted on the other coast," Giannella said, but noted that with stricter energy standards in California, there's growing local interest.
Prefabricated homes are becoming more widely used throughout construction in the past five years, said Giannella. Just last year, Rialto-based Plant Prefab built and installed a prefabricated home on Waverly Street in Palo Alto.
With prefabrication, homes are built offsite in climate-controlled facilities and shipped to construction sites in modules, which allows homes to be manufactured regardless of season or weather conditions. Onsite, the homes are stitched together in a matter of weeks, reducing construction time and neighborhood disruptions.
Malika Junaid: Get 'smart'
Malika Junaid, founder and principal at M Designs Architects in Palo Alto, said she's seeing more customers interested in smart homes, which use internet-connected devices for remote monitoring and management of appliances and systems, including heating, lighting and security.
She completed a remodel project in Menlo Park in 2016 that, while not fully automated, was built automation-ready for the clients to have the capability of expanding to a fully functional smart home. She said, however, that if the project was completed today, it's highly likely that additional automation would be included.
"We have the capability to tap into automation and making security systems easier to use — things that were difficult at the time," she said. "Nobody wanted to take a risk. Now, there is so much with cams and automations to control shades, locks and doors and there is competition to reduce costs. Technology has made things easier. Lifestyles have changed and the technology is there."
Artificial intelligence-enabled and drone security systems are starting to make their way into the market, Junaid said. Companies like San Francisco's Sunflower Labs plan to use home-security drones, and Palo Alto's Cherry Labs is employing AI to monitor and report, for instance, if a person falls and is unable to contact emergency personnel.
"There are endless possibilities," she said. "AI automation and security systems are really cool and we're looking forward to using them, but they need to be vetted more for cybersecurity and data breaches, and the industry needs to assure us securities are in place. Figuring out how these technologies are going to keep you safe is going to be a big thing — and big question for all of the homeowners."
Junaid said customers are also asking for charging stations and floor outlets to reduce the number of electrical cords cluttering a room, and she said she's seeing more homeowners opt for LEDs in the past two years to assist with the look, feel and intensity of lighting throughout a home.

Growing up in the islands of Batanes in the Philippines, I am no stranger to natural terrains and formations that can easily take anyone’s breath away. In fact, I’m quite hard to please when it comes to such things; but of course, this does NOT mean that I do not appreciate nor acknowledge the beautiful sights that I see in my travels — because I do! However… in order for me to be in utter awe and wonder, the landscapes must be far incredible. To date, there have only been a few places that has made me felt this way and on top of that list would have to be the far-flung yet stunning Faroe Islands.
Right from the moment that I landed there, I have felt as if I was sucked into a grand fairy tale — every where I looked, there would be something that will draw my breath in awe, as I constantly question myself if I was still on Earth!
Yes, it was that majestic and surreal.
It might still be an understatement to say that the Faroe Islands are a natural masterpiece; but either way, it is my hope that you will see the outstanding beauty of this place in the flesh!
I bet that you have this now on your travel bucket list and surely, it would be my pleasure to help make your travel planning easier… and so, with this post, I give you the ultimate travel guide for the Faroe Islands — complete with infos, tips, resources, and itinerary that you’re free to customize depending on the length of your stay or the style of traveling that you will do! Faroe Islands : 5-Day Itinerary
» PRE-TRAVEL GUIDE
But before we go on, let me give you some quick and basic facts about the Faroe Islands…
It’s a self-governing small group of islands under the external sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark. The Faroe Islands or Føroyar are quite far from Denmark; truth be told, its 18 rocky and volcanic islands are closer to Iceland, Norway and Scotland. But one important thing to mention is that though Denmark is part of the European Union, the Faroe Islands are not.
TRIVIA: One of the inhabited islands, Koltur, has only one resident! (…Or two, because I keep seeing conflicting info online; but some of the locals said that there’s only one left there. Maybe they were talking about 1 family which are these 2 residents.)
TRIVIA: The Faroese language is said to be one of the North Germanic languages and it is closely related to Icelandic and the now extinct Old Norse Language. Anyhow, English is widely spoken especially by the younger ones.
TRIVIA: The name of the islands first appeared as Faereyjar (in 1225) which means “Sheep Islands” that was given by the Viking age settlers from Norway in the 9th century.
When is the best time to visit the Faroe Islands? Weather here can be quite unpredictable. It’s common to somewhat experience all 4 seasons in just one day! But yes, generally, sunny days here are rare because the islands are mostly windy, cloudy and chilly. For starters, expect cool summers (with an average temperature of 13°C) and mild winters (with an average temperature of 3°C). I went here in the summer around end of June and the days can really have long hours of sunlight with the sun setting after 11PM or even later! (The longest day will be in June 21 spanning at almost 20 hours). As for winter, it can be as short as 5 hours — imagine that…
With all that said, it’s best to visit the archipelago around June to September to enjoy the green scenery. Don’t forget to pack your jacket! ;)
How to get to the Faroe Islands? By air. There are currently 2 airlines that fly to the Faroe Islands. First is Atlantic Airways that has 2 flights per day from Copenhagen, Billund, Aalborg, Bergen and Reykjavik. Flighs cannot be booked through travel websites so you’ll have to book directly on Atlantic Airways website here. The other one is Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) that just started having daily flights to the Faroes.
By sea. Smyril Line’s ferry, M/S Norröna, sails to the Faroe Islands from Hirtshals in the north of Denmark and from Seyðisfjørður in Iceland. It doesn’t sail as frequent though so make sure to check by its website for the scheduled departures.
What kind of clothes should I pack? If you’re coming around May to September to the the Faroe Islands, you should pack for chilly weather so your bare essentials should be a sweater, a raincoat, and a set of good comfortable (hiking) shoes. If you’re like me who can get cold quite fast, go and pack a warm hat or even some gloves just in case!
Of course if you visit around winter or the colder months, your clothing essentials will be different. The same goes for when you’re coming here mainly to camp or hike.
Where to best stay (for accommodations)? The central city of Tórshavn is where you will find most of the accommodations and it’s a strategic place to base yourself in for all your adventures around the islands. (Of course it can get cheaper if you get places outside of Torshavn, but for the best capital picks, they would be the following). Luxury: Hotel Foroyar / Mid-Range: Hotel Hafnia or AirBnB / Budget: Kristjanshavn or AirBnB
How can I go around the islands? By car. Driving your own car is highly recommended (to make the most of your time!) and you can arrange a rental online before your arrival on the islands. Rest assured, you can rent a car (from small cars to SUVs) on-the-spot when you land at the airport since there are stalls there by Sixt, AVIS, HERTZ, and Unicar. Once you start driving around the Faroe Islands, be mindful of the driving conditions and rules because for instance, there are one-way tunnels in the islands and you have to make way for incoming vehicles (you can find all the details in here).
By bus. The main inter-town bus that they have is called Bygdaleiðir (they’re easy to spot since they’re big and in the color of dark blue). To see the complete timetable of the buses, go here. It helps to note, however, that public transportation is expensive in the Faroe Islands, so it’s best to buy a travel (multiple-ride) card beforehand with Strandfaraskip Landsins (the mother company of Bygdaleiðir) at the airport or at the main bus terminal in Torshavn. This travel card already covers busses and ferries around the islands (except to Mykines Island) and can cost 500 DKK ($70~ / Php 3,500~) for 4-days or 700 DKK ($100 / Php 4,900~) for 7 days.
By ferry or by helicopter. Since this place is made up of islands, some are not connected by roads so you’ll sometimes need to hop on a ferry. The schedules for this can be found on Strandfaraskip Landsins. Now if a helicopter ride seemingly sounds expensive to you, don’t worry! Here in the islands, the service is subsidized by the government so it’s quite cheap and it is serviced by Atlantic Airways (see timetable here, and remember, booking in advance is mandatory). With these affordable helicopter rides, I say take advantage of it!
By bike. Some districts like the capital, Tórshavn, can be explored on city or sports bikes. You can rent these from Visit Tórshavn that is located in Steinatún in the city centre. The cost for a day can start at DKK 150~. To book, just send an e-mail to [email protected] or call (+298) 302425.
What tour operators can I contact? In case you don’t like to DIY your trip and want to have someone take care of everything for you, I suggest that you book through local operators in order to help support the local economy. Some of them are as follows:
62°N Tours
GreenGate
MakeTravel
MICE
Should I get a visa to visit the Faroe Islands? Even if the Faroe Islands are connected to the Danish immigration policies, like I’ve already mentioned above, there are some differing factors to take note of. So…
If you come from a Nordic country: showing off your document of identification with photo is enough to enter the islands.
If you come from an EU (European Union) or Schengen country: if you’re an EU citizen, you may enter with just your ID card with photo. However, EU residents are not part of such scheme because you must be a citizen (so for instance, it follows that if you have a Danish residence permit, you still need a visa to the Faroes). If you have a Schengen visa or Danish visa, it is NOT applicable for entry to the Faroe Islands — you still need to apply for a separate visa that is specific to the islands (the requirements will be similar to obtaining a Danish visit visa).
If you are of any other nationality: naturally, you need to apply for a Faroe Islands visa (remember: NOT a Schengen visa) at the Danish embassy in your country of residence — unless your nationality is exempted from getting a Danish visa then you can enter the Faroe Islands.
Helpful Faroese phrases the official language of the faroe islands is faroese which is a Germanic language that descended from Old Norse. Since they are within the Kingdom of Denmark, the locals also speak Danish. Rest assured, most of the people can speak English (sometimes even German and Norwegian). All in all, it doesn’t hurt to learn a few of the local phrases.
Hello: Halló (hahloh) Thank you: Takk fyri (Takk fi-reh) or Takk (Takk) Yes: Ja (Ya) No: Nei (Ney) Goodbye: Farvæl (Far-vyel)
I’m sorry: Orsakið meg (Or-sha-kee mey) Excuse me (getting attention): Orsaka (Or-sha-ka) Excuse me (begging pardon): Umskylda (Um-shil-da) How much does that cost?: Hvat kostar tað? (Kvat kost-ar tay?) Is there someone here who speaks English?: Dugir nakar her eingilskt? (Du-cheer nak-ar her ain-gilsk?) Help!: Hjálp! (Yolp!) Cheers!: Skál! (Is-kol!)
Now, before I begin with the itinerary guide, if in case you’re more of a visual person, you can already watch my video below to get a ‘ brief peek’ into what the islands can offer.

Explore parts of Vágar and Streymoy Islands
After you land and pick up your rental car at the airport, I highly advise that you don’t go straight to Tórshavn yet (which is likely where your accommodation will be) because there are some nearby spots around the airport that are worth looking into!
You might be thinking, “I can visit those later!” — sure you can, but the thing is… they’re quite far and to save time, I think it’s best that you visit them ASAP while you’re in the vicinity. (Otherwise, you can visit them on your last day on your way to the airport, depending on your scheduled flight back.)
If you want to see one of nature’s mind-blowing ‘optical illusions‘, make sure that you drop by Lake Sørvágsvatn (also called as Leitisvatn). It is the largest lake in the Faroe Islands and it has been dubbed as the “lake over the ocean” — this is because if you go up a certain angle, it will appear as though the lake is floating directly above the ocean! The lake is just 40 meters above sea level with a magnificent waterfall at the end of it that’s called as Bøsdalafossur.
To get here, set your GPS and near the location or by the church in Miðvágur, you will find signs to “Trælanípa/Bøsdalafossur”. Follow these signs until you find a parking spot. You will then find a gate and you must start walking from here to the south towards the ocean by following the gravel path. The hike takes about an hour (one way) and in order to get to the spot that shows the iconic ‘illusion’, you must go to the southern tip (not on the southwest end of the lake). You will know if you’re in the right place when you see 3 small sticks sticking up or if you see a steep hill. (Doesn’t matter if you end up at the wrong vantage point because every angle is stunning here! But if you really want some more specific instructions, go to this page and scroll to page 36 to 37.)
• • •
This is yet another iconic landscape in the Faroe Islands which is just an 18-min ride away from Vagar Airport. As you will see from the photo above, the Mulafossur Waterfall is a grand sight! It is nestled within this small village of Gasadalur and there are 2 ways to see it: with minimal effort and with some effort. What do I mean by this? You can see this glorious spot by car as you do some short walking from the main road; or if you’re a dedicated hiker, you can do a hiking trail that the villagers used to take before the car tunnel was built.
TRIVIA: Gasadalur used to be one of the most isolated places in the islands. Residents had to hike through 700-meter mountains just to get in and out of the village! After the car tunnel was built, access to the town got a lot better, but to date, the residents here still number at only 18!
Since I didn’t have much time (and a bit tired from my flight), I opted to just drop by here with my car as I enjoyed the waterfall and do a bit of strolling in the village itself. If you want some more detailed tips for this place, like how to find the trail that leads to this vantage point and how to do the longer hiking trail itself, check out my guide found here: Gasadalur & its Mulafossur Waterfall

But of course it can get cheaper if you get places outside of Torshavn, but for the best capital picks, they would be the following. Luxury: Hotel Foroyar / Mid-Range: Hotel Hafnia or AirBnB / Budget: Kristjanshavn or AirBnB
I stayed over at a guesthouse with a local though and unfortunately, it’s not really a place you can book — but I wish it was because the house was in the traditional style and it was so cozy with a great view of the sea and a river!
• • •
Like a natural amphitheatre, Saksun is a splendid remote hillside village that is known for its serene atmosphere. The place where it lies now used to be a deep inlet in the sea (fjord) and during low tide, you can walk along the lagoon’s sandy shore which is found at the foot of the village.
Whilst here, make sure you check out the village’s church and Dúvugarðar, a farm that houses 300 ewes — which also functions as a museum.
• • •
This is the largest waterfall in the Faroe Islands at a hight of 140 meters. Located near the village of Haldarsvík, this waterfall has two cascades that falls down to the sea. If I may share a tip, it’s best to come here after some heavy rainfall because that’s when it becomes even more spectacular!
TRIVIA: Fossá in Faroese means “river with waterfalls”
• • •
As the night falls, you can choose from an array of restaurants that speckle the city of Tórshavn; but if I may suggest, go and dine at Barbara Fish House! It has a great menu that consists of Faroese seafood dishes; plus, the place itself is quite charming given that it is built into the rocks.
Kalsoy and Gjógv
Rev up your car, wear good shoes, pack up some food and sail to the nearby island of Kalsoy! You can spend a whole day here to explore its various sights. If you still have time by the end of the day, you can drop by the charming village of Gjógv.
Kalsoy is like a flute-shaped island due to its thin shape. You can reach it by ferry along with your car by driving from Tórshavn to the port of Klaksvík (this is a 1-hour drive). It’s best to catch the first or earliest ferry to Kalsoy’s Syðradalur port so that you’ll have enough time to explore the island. To check the timetables, see this page (take note of the departure times as well so you can time when you will have to drive back to port). Take note: it’s not possible to book in advance so you have to pay on the spot (DKK 160 for one vehicle), and if you’re coming with your car, make sure you arrive there 15 minutes before departure.
Once on the island, there’s no need for maps because there is but just one highway with lots of tunnels — make sure that you watch out for sheep because they can come up anywhere and block the road, seemingly seeking for some sort of showdown.
First, I recommend that you go straight to the north to Trøllanes not only to see the surroundings of the village but to also hike up the mountains to see Kallur lighthouse because the view here is superb. I actually had a hard time finding the trail that leads to this place because there are no signs that lead me to it. Thankfully, my companion and I saw a tour group by the road who were headed to the lighthouse and they gladly invited us to join them.
Basically, somewhere on the road before the village, you will find a small red gate along the fence. This is closed but you can open it — most of the gates in the island are closed not for people, but for sheep. Once inside, you just have to climb up the hill toward the north direction until you see the white Kallur lighthouse. With this in mind: make sure to wear good and comfortable hiking shoes! Rest assured, the climb up isn’t that hard but it can get a bit steep.
On the way back, make sure that you stop by the village of Mikladalur to visit Kópakonan, or the “Seal Woman”, which embodies one of the popular folktales in the islands. Made of bronze and stainless steel, it stands above a rock near a waterfall with a great backdrop of the mountains and the sea. The legend that surrounds this is quite sad and dark though and you can read all about it here.
TIP: Pack your own lunch and snacks because I personally had a hard time looking for a restaurant in Kalsoy. There was a canteen in Mikladalur but it only served snacks.
• • •
Just an hour away from Tórshavn, this is the northernmost village in Eysturoy island. Nominated by the Nordic Council for the Nature & Environmental Award in 2014, this well-preserved town is nestled by mountains on all sides and filled with traditional houses that are made of timber and turf roofs. For those who are fond of hiking, there are also several trails for you to do here! What’s one thing that you absolutely must NOT miss? it would be the natural harbour that they have which is a picturesque gorge.
• • •
Once you’re back at the capital, have some more classical Faroese dishes — but this time around, try some fine dining at Aarstova!
All about mountains
The way I see it, the Faroe Islands is a hiker’s dream paradise! In fact, almost all of the best landscapes can be seen via hiking.
But for those who don’t have the stamina for such things (like me), don’t fret because there are hiking trails that are at an easy level. …Yet if you could push yourself — by all means, do so! I have personally done a difficult hike up the mountain of Villingardalsfjall, and I was so glad that I pushed myself to do it even if my legs were about to give way because the view that I saw up high was one of the most jaw-dropping landscapes that I’ve ever seen in my life!
» READ: Hiking Trails in the Faroe Islands
Anyhow, if you think you can’t really do any moderate to high level hikes, you can spend this day visiting the villages of Saksun or Gjógv if you haven’t managed to do so in the past days. You can even revisit the past spots I’ve mentioned if the weather became a lot more favorable for this day.
(Hiking difficulty: medium) Towering at 880 meters, Slættaratindur or “flat summit” is the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands so it’s an absolute must-see! According to Guinnes World Records, this is the world’s longest sight line because due to the light bending effects of the atmosphere, the largest glacier in Inceland called as Vatnajökull can be seen from here on a clear day (aside from the fact that you can have awesome views over the whole Faroese archipelago). For complete hiking instructions, go to this page and scroll to page 22 to 23.
• • •
This is the hike that I was talking about — as a non-hiker, this has been one of the most difficult hikes of my life but also one of the most rewarding (together with Norway’s Trolltunga)! The whole hike to the top takes 3 to 4 hours with a distance of 6 kilometers yet at a steep height of 841 meters. I can talk on and on about this place, but I think it’s best that you read my blog post below to read more about my experience as well as to see the other views you will witness from its summit:
Hiking Faroe Islands’ Stunning Mountain of Villingardalsfjall
• • •
Good news: this does NOT involve hiking. The top of this mountain plateau near Hotel Føroyar can be reached by car and reaching its amazing viewpoint will only take you a 30-meter walk.
A Mykines kind of day
Mykines island is a favorite in the Faroe Islands! You need a whole day for this mostly because the transportation to the island usually only happens in the morning, and the ride back in the afternoon. Regrettably, when I visited here, the weather wasn’t good. In fact, once we arrived at the island, we were stranded in a small cafe together with other tourists as we waited for the heavy rain and strong winds to pass.
It still ended up as a great day though because we met a lot of interesting individuals — one of which was a well-known harp player from Ireland who was on tour at that time and who gladly played songs for everyone. Still and the same, before leaving the island, my companion and I braved the rain so that we could at least glimpse at the cute puffins that live on the cliffs!
Anyhow, it’s my wish that you get a good day so that you can see the great sight below.
There are 2 ways to reach Mykines: by boat or by helicopter. Remember how I said that helicopters are subsidized by the government of the Faroe Islands? With that in mind, I highly suggest that you take a one-way helicopter trip to this island by booking in advance! I say one way because Atlantic Airways’ helicopters mainly service a round trip route to Mykines in the mornings only from Vagar Airport. To see the complete timetable, see this page. For the boat or ferry, timetable can be found here.
Once on the island, you can hike from the old turf-roofed-filled village to the lighthouse which is at the western end of the islet of Mykineshólmur. If it’s summer time, make sure to visit some clifftops to see an endless sea of cute puffins nestled in the burrows. After all, this is called as the “paradise of birds” so take advantage of this fact and do some birdwatching while you’re there!
As you wait for your ferry back to Torshavn, take your time exploring the small village. One important thing to take note of though is that if you take a helicopter to the island from Vagar Airport, the ferry will land somewhere else and it’s at the port of Sørvágur — so if you parked your car at the airport, you have to do a 20-minute walk back, or you can take the 300 bus. (Details here).
TIP: Much like Kalsoy, it’s advisable to pack your own lunch and snacks. There’s a small cafe in the middle of the village but it mostly serves light food.
NOTE: Just recently, a new policy has been set that tourists have to pay DKK 100 to travel to the Mykineshólmur lighthouse for maintenance of the birdlife and nature on the island. This fee includes a certified guide to ensure that everyone sticks to the path and not disturb any of the local fauna. For more information, you can contact the Visit Mykines office.
• • •
Assuming that it’s summer, by the time that you come back to the main island, it will still be light outside so if you could, make a stopover at Kirkjubøur. One notable attraction that you must see here is the huge black building at the center of the village that is called Kirkjubøargarður. It’s arguably the oldest inhabited wooden house in the world with over 17 generations of the same family that’s living there (there are sections that are turned into a museum). It even once housed the episcopal residence and seminary of the Diocese of the Faroe Islands.
You could also visit the old churches that they have such as Magnus Cathedral and Saint Olav. And if you go by the shore, you will see two old stone houses.
Before capping the night, while you’re already in the area…
• • •
I highly recommend this restaurant since I have dined here myself! What’s special about KOKS? Well, it has been awarded as the best restaurant in the Nordic countries in 2015 by the Nordic Prize; plus, it is also the first and the only Michelin star restaurant in the islands. The restaurant which only uses local ingredients is housed in a private house that has been turned into a guest room, and it has an open kitchen where you can watch the chef and his assistants cook (but there is a bigger kitchen in the back).
Dining here is obviously not cheap, but if you have the money to spare, I urge you to give it a try. I’ve dined all over the world and this is one of the best places I’ve ate in. Besides, they surely know how to do pairings!
Basically, dinner here is a tasting menu and you can choose to pick your own drinks or choose their wine pairing or juice pairing set — YES! You read that right, juice pairing! This might sound boring to you but their juice pairings were simply phenomenal. I never though that fresh juices can be mixed in such ways that would perfectly complement a dish. Aaaah… simply put: I hope you get to try it to experience a truly gastronomical feast!
Explore the rest of Tórshavn
We’re now on the last day and I think it’s time to fully explore and enjoy the main capital of Tórshavn. Let yourself get lost in the city’s small streets; if not, you can take your pick from the array of activities below…
Tinganes is an area where you can see a beautiful clutter of red wooden houses. These are one of the oldest parliamentary meeting places in the world that once functioned as a meeting place for Vikings. Today, it houses the office of the prime minister. You will rather find the Faroese parliament — the Løgting (‘Law assembly’) — a few streets down. What’s great about this area too is that there are enough signs and plaques to explain the history of the place.
• • •
Go over to the waterfront and you will this store that’s housed in an old factory building. They sell products made in the islands itself such as traditional clothes, wool sweaters, postcards, posters, and other design products. For sure, it’s worth looking into!
• • •
You can experience a magnificent horseriding experience in and around Tórshavn and you can do it with the tour provider, Berg Hestar, who uses Icelandic horses. The experiences vary in difficulty and price range but take note that it’s only allowed for 7 years and older. To protect the horses, there’s also a weight limit of 95 kilos. To book your spot(s), check by their website here.
• • •
This experience will grant you a unique perspective to the Faroe Islands as you sail by the most remote and breathtaking sights that the islands have to offer — one of which is to circle around the nearby island of Hestur. RIB62 tailors tours upon request every day of the weak so feel free to contact them for inquiries. (Departure for this boat tour is from Gamlarætt which is 15 minute away from Tórshavn).
Wondering where to dine in the Faroe Islands or the local dishes that you must absolutely try?

Overall
It’s clear to see that the Faroe Islands has an untouched beauty that’s worthy to be seen and explored! I guarantee you that it is the kind of place that will fit your fancy, NO matter the kind of traveler that you may be.
Besides, it’s a destination that a lot of travelers have NOT heard of yet, so why not be one of the “forerunners” (like me) who will sing its praises? Through that way, the Faroe Islands could soon be known by more people, thereby paving the way for its popularity — which they so rightly deserve!
How about you?
What do you think of the Faroe Islands?
Would you like to visit? Why or why not?
Or have you visited here before? How was it?

GTA Online Guide: How to Play, Easy Money Tips, Build Rep Fast
Need to attempt GTA Online, however aren't exactly certain what you ought to do? Here's an abundance of data and tips on the best way to begin, how to win great cash - and how to abstain from getting slaughtered by imbeciles! Presently refreshed for PS4 and Xbox One!
While GTA Online is an enormously multiplayer web based game, you in reality just play with 29 other individuals at some random time (on current-gen reassures, less on PS3 and Xbox 360). It includes essentially a similar open world as the single-player form, and you're allowed to wander any place you need. Notwithstanding, explicit missions and exercises are instanced – ie, you get put into a region where just you and whichever different players you've assembled up with legitimately can see one another.
For additional on GTA Online, head on over to our GTA 5 and GTA Online Guides Hub. Over yonder you'll discover information on GTA Online Heists and GTA Online Gunrunning.
What is GTA Online?
While you're meandering around the open world, you're reasonable game for different players, so remain on your toes. On the off chance that you need to play Online solo, load the story mode, and essentially select GTA Online from the menu as "welcome as it were." Playing solo limits your character's advancement to some degree; the most ideal approach to play is to connect with different players at the earliest opportunity and generate whatever instanced action you're keen on. That way you can keep off the beaten path of griefers, and essentially focus on finishing missions and having some good times.
There are measures set up to debilitate players from continually executing different players, however actually, in the gta v online cheats event that somebody needs to be an ass, they will. So when you're in free meander, look out for stuff like getting killed the minute you leave an emergency clinic in the wake of being killed. Autos can likewise be booby-caught, so treat enticing looking vehicles with alert and take a gander at how they're left. In the event that it doesn't feel right, proceed onward.
To capitalize on GTA 5, you need companions to work with. Step up to the plate and welcome individuals to go along with you. More often than not, individuals are more joyful to cooperate than waste cash and time battling one another.
What to do when you land in GTA Online
Watch for white spots
They're different players you're imparting your server to. In the event that you see one moving toward you at speed, prepare. They may very well escape for cops, or just going through on their way to a vocation. Yet, they may likewise be a griefer determined to bust some skulls, so discover spread, haul out your firearm and remain chilly until you realize what's up. One thing to recollect: most stores and organizations are sans pvp zones, where players can do little else than affront you. So look for shelter on the off chance that you have to, and sit it out until the individual proceeds onward.
Discover a few companions. Or on the other hand toxic acquaintances. Either will do
The most ideal approach to play GTA Online is to welcome individuals to go along with you as a gathering – or basically trust that somebody will start a gathering welcome. On the off chance that the general population you're playing with are a bit poop, you should gta v money cheat need to go off and do a portion of the performance exercises laid out underneath. However, in the event that it turns out they're very helpful, you can continue playing with them by utilizing the post-work casting a ballot menu to replay the earlier activity (profoundly prescribed if it's simple or potentially worthwhile), or begin another one.
Gathering exercises produce 20% more rep than solo runs. Additionally, it's constantly worth playing a mission again to get an ideal score, as it's constantly simpler the second time around, and on the off chance that you do get everything right, the Rep reward is sweet.
Keep in mind that on the off chance that you are a forceful player and slaughter a great deal of different players, you'll become an abundance target and will probably be chased down for cash. Likewise, in case you're a dick and holler at individuals, you'll all around likely get adversely positioned. In spite of the fact that it's initial days, it appears that Bad Sports are tossed into servers with similar players – which may be fun on the off chance that you like that kind of thing, however ought to be dodged on the off chance that you would prefer not to battle for yourself against 15 other individuals who simply love being jerks.
Try not to get the primary vehicle you see (except if it's a decent one). Discover one that you can live with, as the main vehicle you stall out with until you purchase another.
First goal: Steal a great car
When you touch base in Los Santos out of the blue, don't take the primary vehicle you see. Glance around for one that you like - on the grounds that the principal vehicle you take is the one you need to use until you can purchase another one. Not at all like the single-player game, you won't almost certainly discover premium vehicles at first, so search for something that is better than average enough to live with, and won't irritate you as time goes on.
When you gain more money, you can take a vehicle you need to keep to a Los Santos Customs shop, go to Loss/Theft Prevention and purchase a Tracker for it. It's $2,000, yet it makes the vehicle yours - and lets you effectively recoup it should it go "missing". Get protection as well. It's costly, but at the same time it's justified, despite all the trouble over the long haul for reasons that will turn out to be clear. Like some joke taking your ride and stopping it at the base of a store.
The Pokemon Sword and Shield Interview: "We Knew at Some Point We Weren't Going to have the option to Keep Indefinitely Supporting All of the Pokemon"
We converse with Game Freak about the fight capability of Dynamax, the choice to limit the quantity of accessible Pokemon, and…
The Online variant of Los Santos is a pitiful hive of filth and villainy, and isn't the kind of spot you need to stroll about outfitted with only a self-loader gun. So except if you're Martin Riggs (find it, kids), your quick goal ought to get your hands on a not too bad firearm with the goal that you can at any rate secure yourself, or take part in some hostile battle should the open door emerge.
Accepting you have enough cash, the "best" firearm to purchase is the one you're most agreeable and compelling with. So that should settle on it a basic decision: purchase whatever firearm you utilize the most in the single-player game.
Third target: Buy a carport
While expensive, this is the following thing you have to get. It's the place you can store your vehicles, and you truly do need to do that.
Remember to agree to accept Rockstar's Social Club. On the off chance that you do, when you get a carport, visit the Legendary Motorsports site on your telephone and purchase a free Elegy RH8. This thing is a great base vehicle for Street Racing.
You can develop your notoriety an assortment of ways. On the off chance that you're a certain driver, you can irritate the cops and after that avoid them to gradually and relentlessly develop notoriety. Simply ensure you don't hit multiple stars except if you're extremely certain, as you'll finish up squandering a great deal of time attempting to beat the warmth.
Doing tasks and for the most part helping individual players makes you a "Decent Sport" and will definitely gain you Rep and reward money. Along these lines, amusing however it might sound considering you're playing a standout amongst the most vicious amusements around, oppose the compulsion to go around like a numbskull, shooting everybody you see. Also, be lovely to individuals, regardless of whether they're definitely not. A few players rush to geek rage, and on the off chance that they do, simply quit out of the gathering and abstain from getting sucked into their babble.
Okay cash: Stealing vehicles
In the event that you simply need to do things solo, the most secure introductory approach to make cash is to take vehicles. Voyage the avenues searching for basic ordinary vehicles, which are worth great cash. When you've jacked your ride, head to the closest Los Santos Customs shop. Try not to drive like a blockhead: the more minty crisp the vehicle is the point at which you arrive, the more it's value. Autos sell for between $3-$8k, which on a long haul normal works out about $4.5k per conveyance. A decent, enduring pay, especially on the off chance that you appreciate driving and don't think of it as a granulate.
Enormous tip: don't go taking top of the line sports vehicles, as those aren't sought after. SUVs and Coupes are typically excellent cash. Cars and econoboxes are commonly worth less.
Likewise recall that you can just offer one vehicle for every in-game day, so implies one at regular intervals or something like that. Watch out for the clock, and you can keep the green coming in, especially in the event that you join it with another okay action.
Another method for creating money for vehicles is through Simeon. Check your telephone normally for his instant messages wherein he'll request explicit vehicles. Convey that vehicle to him, and you'll win a pleasant wad of cash. Also, once more, be cautious when taking the vehicle to the drop-off point. Speed of conveyance isn't as significant as ensuring your stolen ride touches base in flawless condition.

20th June 2017
Tuesday morning and it was time to get up for my first day at Momentum Energy. I was nervous, as I always am. I don't know how Steve does it. He goes to a different job almost everyday, meeting new people, doing different things. He says that it is nerve wracking, I know I couldn't do it. It's like starting a new job every day. The address is 628 Bourke street which is about a 15-20 minute walk. I could get a tram if I wanted but you can't really justify using public transport, in rush hour, for a small journey. I could do with the exercise too. I went downstairs at 0800 and had my breakfast. Steve came with me and we sat together. I left around 0830. It's so cold outside but walking makes you so warm. Your nose ends up going bright red, as does your cheeks. That's how you know it's winter. I got to the building around 0845. I was slightly early, how I like to be on first days. First impressions and all that. The building was quite tall - I was going to level 13. It's really quite posh and the lifts looking amazing. They're in pod shapes. It looked like something from Harry Potter. I loved it. Around 0950 I went up in the lift. I went to reception and signed myself in. I took a seat and waited for my boss "Nick" to get me. He arrived after about 5-10 minutes. First impression: meh. He walked me down to level 12 as Momentum Energy work on both, it's just that reception is on 13. I will be working on level 12. I was given a visitors pass for now, I was told to go back in the afternoon to get my new one as I'm going to be here for a while. Nick walked me round the building, showing me where the kitchen and toilets were. He then walked me to my seat. I was introduced to my team (of 4). I was sat next to a lady called Vidyha and she was showing me the ropes. After an hour or two of watching what my role was, I was annoyed. It's data entry and the systems are confusing - to a stranger at least. Vidyha has been doing the role for 5 years so it's completely second nature to her. Unfortunately, she wasn't great at showing me what I was doing and why. She just expected me to remember and know it. Vidyha works part time, so at 1330, she left. I was sat next to another team member - Sidak. Sidak was lovely and went through everything again but much slower. Just explaining the reasons why we do things. Much better. I had my lunch around 1400. Apparently, we get two 15 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon that are paid for. We also get half an hour unpaid. Sounds great. I forgot to bring lunch with me, so I sat in the kitchen on my own with my bottle of water. I could've gone outside but I felt to nervous too. When I got back to work, Sidak was too busy to have me sit with her so I had to sit with another team member - Kayly. She was the other temp from Robert Half. She's lovely, from Canada on her second year. She wants her residency badly but she can't because they were taken away a few months ago. I learnt a lot from Kayly because she understood where I was coming from - as a complete stranger. It's not their fault that they're so quick and knowledgable, but they aren't very good at training here. Some people are born to train, some aren't. Hey ho. It was difficult learning so much information in a short amount of time, also from 3 different people who do things in different ways. My head was hurting. They were so unprepared for me arriving. I didn't have a chair and when I did, I was given an old beaten up chair. Not like everyone else's posh chairs where you can adjust the height and back. I didn't have a computer log in or anything. My roll is 'Sales Provisioning'. Which basically means I sort out all the bills and rates for customers. It's very repetitive and will be very tedious I imagine. I just want to know everything now and get on with it. Nick came over at 1550 and told me I could go home at 1600. Half of me was disappointed because I needed the money, half was pleased to leave. I got my stuff together, said goodbye and thank you, and left... I walked home and went straight to my room. Steve was sitting there waiting for me to notice something. It took me a good 5 minutes to realise he had collected his new glasses. They looked great. He's really, really happy with them which is ideal for someone who hates wearing them. Michael saw Steve trying the different pairs on for me to see and asked to see his sunglasses. I tried to explain that they were for Steve's eyes as prescription wasn't helping Michael understand. He asked if he could try them on and Steve said yes. He put them up to his face and said "oh fu**" with his cute Italian language. He then realised how blind Steve is. We couldn't stop laughing. A few weeks ago Steve played a prank on Michael. Dan had won fantasy football and his teammates sent him a dildo as a well done present... (Don't ask, I don't get it either). It had see-through plastic round it. Steve got it out of the box and places it on top of the lockers where Michael keeps his phone and what not as he sleeps on the bed above me. Michael was asleep and his alarm went off. He reached over and picked up the dildo without realising. About 5 minutes after, he got up and looked at it and went "what the f***". He started laughing a lot when he realised what he grabbed. He kept on saying to Steve "beautiful". Michael only knows beautiful as a descriptive word - I'm sure he means different words most of the time but we go with it. It's not his fault he doesn't know. I help him along the way when he asks. Michael was tired and got into bed. He had done a 10 hour day at the restaurant, starting at 0600. We left him in the room and went downstairs. Steve and I put our stuff down with the rest of the group and started to make dinner. We were having: turkey mince, green beans, broccoli and rice. I opened my expensive ($2.50) bottle of Aldi wine and shared it with Steve. We've really started to like wine and we would love to go to a winery to learn more. We want to find out our favourite wines/flavours. We're looking to go to one in Tasmania. Steve wanted sweet chilli sauce with his dinner and the hostel provides it for free. It's a twisty squirty top that was obviously blocked. We found this out when Steve squeezed the bottle so hard, the whole lid came off and the bottle emptied everywhere. Luckily, not too much went over his dinner so it was edible. The majority went over the table. How do you clean up sweet chilli sauce? It's ridiculously thick and sticky! I went through 4 cloths and threw them into the bin. After that, we were able to eat. I ended up drinking the majority of the bottle and feeling very drunk. School boy error: drinking on an empty stomach. Steve ended up putting me to bed at 2000, make up off, pyjamas on. I fell asleep like a light.

Recipe for success – how UK food firms can crack the US

Image copyright Graze
Image caption Graze found that its nut packs were a bit hit in the US
While curry-mad Britons can’t get enough mango chutney, it seems that Americans can’t stand the sticky stuff.
That was what popular UK snacks firm Graze found out pretty quickly when it first expanded to the US in 2013.
“Our plan in the US was to initially launch our entire British range and see how everything went down,” says Graze’s chief executive Anthony Fletcher.
“Some things Americans loved, and some they absolutely loathed… [such as] mango chutney. They were saying ‘what is this acidic yellow blob?’.”
Revenue potential
For many UK food and drink companies cracking the US is the holy grail.
With its population of more than 326 million people, the giant American marketplace can offer British grub and booze businesses huge revenues.
But as the UK’s largest supermarket group Tesco can attest, being a success stateside is far from easy. Back in 2013 it sold its six-year-old Californian venture Fresh & Easy after losses totalling more than £1bn ($1.4bn).

Media captionHow snack food firm Graze cracked the US
So how exactly can a UK food and drink firm conquer the US? We asked a number of companies who have done just that to reveal the secrets of their success.
Graze’s Antony Fletcher says that his company sat down and formulated a plan whereby they would study their US online sales data to quickly work out exactly which of its snack food packs Americans wanted to buy, which ones they didn’t like, and which ones could be adapted to better meet US tastes.
“We are very lucky in that we sell via our website,” he says. “And we get 15,000 product ratings an hour, which gives us a huge advantage – we can find out very quickly what people like and don’t like.”
Differing tastes
So, launching in the US with its entire range of products, within days Graze found out that American customers loved its packs of mixed nuts, but couldn’t cope with things like the already-mentioned mango chutney, or the firm’s “deconstructed Jaffa Cakes”.
The latter wasn’t bought in the US because American consumers didn’t know anything about Jaffa Cakes, the popular UK orange and chocolate-topped mini-cakes.
Graze soon trimmed back what was available to US customers, and used their reviews to change the formulas of other products, such as its barbeque sauce. It also quickly introduced some US specific lines, such as “Creamy Range Kern Pops”, which is popcorn with a “creamy, zesty kick”.
Mr Fletcher says that Graze also studied how long the various US delivery firms took to get its snack boxes to customers’ doors, so that it could chose the quickest in each state.
Today US sales account for half of the company’s £75.8m annual revenues.
Marketing changes
David Wilson’s claim to fame is that he introduced the vegetarian version of chicken nuggets to the US market.

Image caption Quorn brought its meat substitute nuggets to the US
Back in 2000 he was a co-owner of the then company that owned meat substitute brand Quorn.
At the time the product was primarily bought in the UK as a substitute for beef mince, and made by users into dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese or chilli.
Seeking to crack the US market, the plan of Mr Wilson and his colleagues was to instead market Quorn in the US as a chicken substitute, including the introduction of Quorn nuggets.
Mr Wilson moved to New York to take charge of the move, and after the nuggets were picked up by upmarket US supermarket chain Whole Food Market, Quorn has never looked back in the country.
Lengthy research
Today Mr Wilson still lives in the States, and runs a business called Green Seed Group that helps and advises UK and other foreign food firms that wish to launch in the US.
“The first thing that any food business that wants to break into American needs to do is research.” he says.
“And by that I don’t mean take a week’s holiday in Florida or a weekend in New York, you have to move to the US and absorb its food culture. You need to visit supermarket after supermarket, and restaurant after restaurant to study the marketplace.

This is the 14th story in a series called Connected Commerce, which every week highlights companies around the world that are successfully exporting, and trading beyond their home market.

“The sensible thing is then to go to the big food fairs. First just as a visitor, and then buy a stand. You then need to see if you can attract buyers for independent stores first. The likes of Walmart won’t even look at you unless you are already showing some sales success in the US.
“And hire a US-based expert to help you find potential buyers, and guide you on labelling laws etc.
“The one thing that is much easier and cheaper these days is marketing. Back in my Quorn days it could be expensive, but now firms have social media.”
UK organic tea and herbal supplements firm Pukka Herbs also recommends that fellow British food firms attend trade fairs – both in the US and elsewhere overseas – so that they can meet potential buyers.

“We met our first overseas buyer at a trade show in Germany, and then we went to trade shows in the US in 2009 to show off or teas, and we got picked up by a wholesaler in the north east of the country,” says Pukka Herbs co-founder Tim Westwell.
The company was first founded in 2001 and the US market now accounts for 10% of its turnover.
British ex-pat Tracy Claros founded her business, the Sticky Toffee Company, in Austin, Texas, in 2003. Today her company has annual revenues of $4m (£3m), and her stockists include Whole Foods Market, Costco and Walmart.
Her advice is offer something new, and be patient.
“Come with a unique, well-branded product, and be prepared to be here for the long haul,” she says.
UK beer firm Brewdog is one company taking this long-term approach in the US, so much so that it has built a brewery in Ohio to make its presence permanent.

Image caption Tracy Claros has introduced Americans to the joy of sticky toffee pudding
Mr Wilson from Green Seed Group adds: “Cracking America starts with having a unique brand offer that fits in with the American lifestyle.
“It is all about a good market strategy, sound financial backing, and quite a bit of patience. If you get it right, the prize is huge, but if you don’t it can be an expensive misadventure.”

It was fucking freezing out, Kimishita thought bitterly to himself as he tried to puff some warmth into his frigid fingers. He shouldn't be out here, not really because the shop didn't close for another hour or so and he was pretty sure his father still needed help. However, food had eventually called both their names and the old man had insisted. Kimishita frowned, his brows pinching together as he took in the fall foliage and yellow street lights. Now that he thought about it, neither of them had eaten since breakfast – since the sky was a brighter blue. They'd been doing that a lot lately. Skipping meals to fit in another hour of work. To squeeze in more customers with malfunctioning or broken machines just to make ends meet. It'd been tough on the old man ever since mom left and took half of the clientele with her. Apparently, she had fallen out of love. His father had gone on a huge spiel about a week after it happened - told him that everything happened for a reason and mom was a good person but it still ended up leaving a bitter taste in his mouth because it was bullshit. If she was such a good woman, she would've stayed. At least that was his opinion. Kimishita shook his head and a leaf fell from his hair. It startled him enough to make him annoyed with himself. It wasn't like Kimishita to scare over stupid things – or anything at all really but a lack of sleep had taken its toll on him. It made him jumpy. Even now, his body was buzzing with fatigue and he felt tremors run down his legs due to sleep deprivation. Kimishita rubbed his eyes and stifled a yawn as he came up to the nearly run down store front and pushed through the doors. He could stand to rest after this, probably, but then again the last time he got a full eight hours of sleep, his mom had left them high and dry in the middle of the night. It had blindsided him and he'd quickly learned that sleeping equaled out to vulnerability.
It didn't matter, though.
He had other concerns at the moment like what to pick up for dinner. His dad probably wanted something quick, Kimishita mused as he scanned over the aisles before his attention was drawn to a stack of big ramen cups. That'd do just fine. Ramen would always be less expensive than shitty frozen meals anyway and in their financial situation, every penny mattered. He gathered up two cups and strolled up to the front where a teenaged girl and a cyborg were manning the register. The guy like looked bored to tears and he could've passed for a full on human if he hadn’t been able to see the chip and analyzing scope in the green iris of his right eye. He placed the items on the counter and mumbled a quiet, “this is it” before he remembered his dad wanted a pack of cigarettes. He made it a point to ignore the idle chatter the girl tried to start up without being too rude about it. He was normally polite to strangers but today just wasn't a good day for it. His spine stiffened when he felt a pair of eyes on him and he scratched the back of his neck in discomfort as she turned away and busied herself with trying to find the specified cigarettes on a wall stuffed full with them. He could feel the cyborg beside her boring holes into his brain and he didn't have to ask to know that the synthetic human or S.H. was gathering his data and background information. This guy wasn't even being subtle about it with the way his curious green eyes slid from side to side and his amazingly tall figure turned itself a little too much in his direction. Rude. Kimishita couldn't help but scoff as he pushed his money in the girl’s palm and took the bag. It almost felt like an invasion of privacy but whatever. It wasn't like he'd find anything interesting anyway. He was pretty boring being only twenty-two with no criminal record or massive achievements. And apparently, the cyborg agreed because he visibly went from interested to disappointed in about thirty seconds. Kimishita chose to ignore the twinge of irritation and thanked the girl instead. He breezed out the doors, standing still for a moment so his eyes could readjust to the dark. Not that there was much to adjust to. The store had been as dim as ever in the chilly night atmosphere and Kimishita made short work of the walk back to the shop, passing by thin trickles of people and random strays along the way.
He couldn't have been gone for more than fifteen minutes but the shop’s door already had its sign flipped around to 'closed'. Kimishita squinted and glanced at his watch, there was still like … forty-five more minutes of work left. And if they did get any extra customers, they'd certainly be pissed to find them closed so early. He let it go, though, choosing instead to appreciate the early night and maneuver around the shop tables piled high with steel parts instead of bugging his dad about it and immediately hauled himself up the stairs. He definitely wouldn’t complain. He set the bag on the tiny kitchen table just big enough for two (not fucking three) and honestly, he should have eaten after going through the trouble. But if the old man’s loud snores coming from down the hall were any indication, they had worked much too hard today and sleep was a better option. Besides, they'd both missed out on dinner for nearly a week now – one more night wouldn’t hurt.
Right?
Yeah, it was fine, Kimishita decided and grabbed a sticky note, scribbling down a reminder for his dad to eat breakfast and pressed it to the coffee machine before heading to his room. His feet ached from standing in one place for hours on end, trying to fix some old lady’s archaic cleaning maid and his back hurt, muscles twinging around his spine from hunching over an old steel worktable. Kimishita groaned when he stretched out the sore muscles running along his body and flopped on the bed – a sigh left his lips when his head hit the pillow. He didn’t even bother to shower, change or brush his teeth. He was more tired than he realized. Exhausted, he admitted as his eyelids grew heavy and he eventually drifted off.
**
The next morning, Kimishita found himself waking up to sunlight searing his eyes and a super sweaty back from sleeping with his damn hoodie on. It felt gross as hell and as Kimishita grabbed his phone to glance at the time, he found himself being grateful that the shop was appointment only on Saturdays. It would give him a chance to shower after breakfast. Kimishita grimaced while he peeled off his damp hoodie and threw on a striped t-shirt. When he got to the kitchen, it was mostly quiet save for the thrumming of their old coffee maker and the sticky note he’d written last night had been taken off and put on the counter with a “You eat too Atsushi - Dad” messily scrawled on the bottom. Kimishita sighed and shook his head. His dad should be worrying more about himself. After all, he’s the one working his fingers to the bone and starving himself. Mom’s damn fault, Kimishita’s brain supplied out of nowhere and there it was again. Anger and agitation intermixed with his blood and he had to breathe.
Breathe deeply. In and out.
In and out because it was too early and he was too fucking old to be worried about how much of a traitor his mother was. Only little kids got worked up over parental issues. Besides, she was a ‘good person’. She was still a good person and as if to prove it, she had tried calling his cell phone countless times in the five months since she left. He would never answer. He’d just sit there and let it ring. Let Mom stew in her feelings and mistakes until he was satisfied which was never. Kimishita sighed. There wasn’t much of a point in being pissed off this early in the day. It was Saturday, a weekend, and he wasn’t going to let thoughts of her ruin it. Nope. He made some toast and slathered some butter on it, putting three slices on a paper towel before turning to pour himself and his dad two cups of coffee once the trickling came to an end. His dad was a honey-only-no-other-flavored-shit kind of guy but Kimishita, himself, couldn’t stand the stuff unless there was at least half-and-half lying around the house.
He nudged open the door after gathering the steaming coffee cups and was in the middle of saying good morning when he noticed a synthetic human lying on the table. His dad was stooped over the figure with black rimmed glasses and a frown.
“Atsushi” His father called, eyes still focused on whatever was troubling him. “Get me wire cutters and a soldering iron.”
“When did we get a synthetic?” Kimishita asked, confused, as he set their coffee off to the side and reached up to the shelf to grab the requested items.
“This morning …” He supplied, “… a friend of mine, his son, found him shut down next to a dumpster a few blocks away. The previous owners must not have wanted him anymore.”
It was unfortunate, Kimishita thought, how some people treated these synthetic humans – like animals or in this case, like garbage.
“So, what are you gonna do with him?” He asked as he blindly shuffled through the box of tools with a hand until he found the soldering iron.
When he didn’t get a response, he sighed. This was what his father was really passionate about and he already knew it’d be a morning where the coffee would end up cold and alone. Older models of synthetics could take a very long time to fix – depending what was wrong with them – and the newer models were a complete bitch. It was a pain in the ass, in his opinion. Kimishita was about to prompt him again, tell him to pay attention but the words died in his throat when he walked up to the table. He swallowed and blinked, his eyes wide in disbelief when he took in the auburn hair and long body and Kimishita was willing to bet his paycheck that if the synthetic opened his eyes, they’d be a forest green. No way … Kimishita held out the tools. His mind was busy trying to figure out the why and how of the whole situation because that nosy guy was watching over the convenience store with the short girl just last night. Twenty-four hours ago, he had a home and he didn’t look anything like this.
“It’s a shame isn’t?” Kimishita’s dad asked and began to prod around for what exactly Kimishita wasn’t sure. “Poor kid … we’ll have him fixed right up.”
Sometimes, Kimishita thought that if compassion had a physical body, it’d look like his father.
“Uh, yeah.” He replied stupidly, agreeing mostly because he knew his dad would be doing most of the work. This particular synthetic looked much too new and way above Kimishita’s meager skill set. He fleetingly wondered how a simple, small-time convenience store owner could ever afford something, or rather someone, so expensive but he didn’t mull over it too long because his mind was still reeling over the fact that he saw this guy just last night and now he was in his father's shop after being neglected with a broken, hissing and sparking arm and other injuries. Kimishita stepped around his dad and leaned over, his heart racing the slightest as he took in the inhumanly clear skin all synthetics seemed to have and for a moment he wondered what parts of him were real and alive. How far had scientists gone when creating his life? Kimishita frowned, his eyebrows tight in apprehension. He was inches away from poking the synthetic’s cheek. Moments away from feeling the skin there when those green suddenly eyes flew open. Kimishita stepped back, startled and sticking his hand to his side like he’d been burned and watched, wary until his eyes fluttered shut.
Kimishita’s dad laughed.
“Startled you, huh?”
“Tch, no.” He lied and rubbed his neck to try and hide the flush that was building there.
“That’s good then.” With a knowing glance, his dad retracted a hand from the nape of the cyborg's neck. “These new models have a sleep function so they can wake up on command.” His dad commented. “I could have worked on him in sleep mode. But I haven't the foggiest idea if he has pain receptors and the boy's been through enough, in my opinion.”
Right. Working on a synthetic with pain receptors is different than performing on one without them and Kimishita was somewhat relieved that his dad had thought to totally shut him down. The guy didn’t need any more unnecessary pain. Being abandoned hurt enough as it was. Kimishita tried again. His fingers were calloused from years of working as a mechanic's assistant but he didn’t think it mattered much because when his fingertips finally grazed the synthetic’s cheek, it was soft. He couldn’t help but gently press into the skin, watching it indent under his pointer finger. His long eyelashes brushed against the bottom eyelid like ash and something about it was interesting until his father fucking snickered and he realized how creepy he was being and how fucking weird he must look touching some stranger.
“Are you curious enough to get started on his arm?”
Kimishita flinched.
“Fine.”
This was simple enough that he didn’t need to ask what to do. He’d fixed arms before, at least. He rolled up his sleeves and grabbed a welding mask off the wall, setting it down on the second table behind him. He didn’t need that, not at the moment anyway. Kimishita sighed to himself as he looked at the forearm that was pretty much hanging by purple and blue wires and slithers of synthetic skin. They didn’t have any skin around the shop but at the very least, he’d be able to get his arm working again. Kimishita took hold of the arm, surprised by its density and gingerly rotated it, searching for the metal joint that was supposed to be his elbow and thankfully it was still there. That would’ve complicated things if his dad had to special order one stupid elbow joint.
He had only just begun to remove the detachable skin when his phone beeped. Fucking hell. Kimishita glowered at the name that popped up. Of course, it was Indou. Only Kazama had worse timing. Grumbling, he shoved the phone back in his pocket and began the task of removing the skin. He'd look at the text later. He worked the frayed edge of skin up with a gloved finger, mindful of the wiring. It was easier than it looked, lifting the skin. Kimishita slowly peeled it back and pulled a bit harder where it attached in smooth snaps underneath to expose a full metal arm. It was weird because this kind of thing felt and looked more real with each passing year but the uneasiness he used to experience as a kid having to do this kind of work had long disappeared. Kimishita’s breath was steady, his heart beat a steady thrum as he picked up the soldering mask and grabbed the previously sparking wire with high precision tweezers. If the tall synthetic had pain receptors, he'd probably been in a lot of discomfort before finally shutting down.
And how long had that been? Just how long had this guy been sitting injured until some dude’s son had found him? Speaking of which, Kimishita made a mental note to ask about the son's identity later.
Kimishita proceeded to bond the wire back together after checking it with a voltage detector. This was the easy part and after he finished the first one, he started fixing a new wire and so on and so forth. He eventually found a rhythm, sweat collected along his hairline from the heat building in the small shop. They’d soon have to turn on fans and crack open a window to keep the air circulating. He worked through it, though, fanning the collar of his shirt every now and then and it was relaxing in a way - the repetitiveness. Kimishita narrowed his eyes as his gaze kept wanting to travel up to the guy’s face as he worked – wanting to take another glance at those stupid eyelashes and high cheekbones for a reason that was entirely beyond him. He wouldn’t though because he wasn’t a fucking creep and he barely knew him. Correction. He didn’t know him at all. He had only seen him for the first time last night while buying ramen and cigarettes. He barely acknowledged the nosy idiot at the time and maybe he should have mentioned that fact to his dad earlier. That he'd seen him before. His dad seemed concerned about what could have happened and where he came from. It was evident in the way he tensed his shoulders and locked his jaw as he shined a light into the small open cavity in his side. It looked nasty, Kimishita noticed as he glanced over. There were angry, mottled bruises a few inches above the wound where his real flesh must have started but thankfully, the skin that was torn was the synthetic bit. He would’ve had to go to a hospital or emergency care clinic if it wasn’t and those places weren’t exactly known for being cyborg-friendly.
**
They must have been there for hours on end, soldering and clamping, welding and bending until his dad finally straightened up and popped his back with a grunt. The shop had grown dim by now and the automatic lights came to life. Kimishita was much slower than his dad at fixing machines and synthetics so when the old man had started covering the metal of three ribs with a brand-new plate and pulling the skin back into place, Kimishita was still just trying to connect the thicker cables. They were giving him trouble and he probably needed help but couldn’t find it in him to bother asking for it. His dad had worked hard enough and besides, Kimishita was supposed to have been proficient with this kind of shit by now.
“I know you’re still working,” His father started with a small smile, “but we should boot him back up. We need to figure out if anything is wrong with his computer system.”
Kimishita drew his head back, incredulous. “Hah?” He said and clicked his tongue after taking off his mask. “What happened to you being worried about pain receptors and all that?”
His dad frowned, forehead creased in thought for only a second and shrugged. “You're nearly finished.” He started, “Besides, pain receptors on synthetics aren’t remotely as strong as they are on a full human. You should know that already." He jokingly reprimanded. "He should be okay to wake now.”
And obviously, that was that because before Kimishita could respond, his dad was already reaching over to prod that same part of his skull just as he did earlier and it only took a few seconds before Kimishita could hear the soft whirring of robotic parts. It happened pretty fast - about seven seconds and Kimishita couldn't help but be impressed by how quickly he booted up. He stood back and crossed his arms as the cyborg spurred to life and his eyes snapped open.
He looked dazed, then alarmed – all too alert as he shot up and looked around.
“Where the hell am I?” He asked, gritting his teeth and wincing when his disjointed arm awkwardly swung.
Kimishita opened his mouth to talk and it was quiet for barely a beat before the cyborg started yelling.
“Hey!” The tall synthetic shouted and hopped off the table, green eyes blazing. He didn't even give them a chance. “I asked a question! WHERE AM I EVEN-”
“You’re in a repair shop!” Kimishita snapped and pointed a finger to the sign inside.
“Atsushi,” His dad tried, “stay calm-”
But Kimishita wasn’t having it.
“We just spent the whole day repairing you! Look at your leg, bastard!”
The synthetic was startled at that. His eyes widened in a vague sense of understanding before he looked around the shop in wonder and then finally glanced down at his newly repaired leg. He dropped his jaw in disbelief and Kimishita watched as he moved his leg. It bent at the knee like it was supposed to and by the looks of it, it didn’t hurt at all.
“Oh” Was all the hunk of metal said and Kimishita found himself growing irritated.
This guy stressed him out.
“Yeah, oh.” He mocked, recoiling a little at his father’s glare. Right, he had to be understanding. He supposed the guy would be on edge after all he'd been through.
“So,” His dad cleared his throat and smiled, “What’s your name, kid? Are you in any pain?”
Maybe it was that he was being treated humanely or had been called a kid but the synthetic stiffened. His back was rigid, good arm practically glued to his side as he looked at Kimishita’s dad and his tone softened.
“My name is K54567850. I'm a company subtype.” He muttered and Kimishita was about to roll his eyes until he spoke up again. “My other name is Ooshiba Kiichi and no, I’m not … I’m not in much pain.” He frowned and stared down at his damaged arm. If he wanted to say more, he didn’t.
“Who was working on my arm?” He asked instead.
“I was.” Kimishita glared at the cyborg, now known to be Ooshiba, silently daring him to say something rude.
And he fucking did.
“It still looks like crap.”
Kimishita growled and his fingers itched to snatch Ooshiba by the shirt collar and maybe even punch him in the face.
“Listen here,” He snarled. “I’m not even fuckin’ finished yet but-”
“Language” His dad languidly scolded. He grabbed the coffee cups and stale toast, already turning to head upstairs to the apartment. “Come get me when you're finished fixing up your best friend."
He knew his father was teasing as fucking usual and that it was absolutely pointless to say anything so instead of replying, he returned his attention back to the tall synthetic after glaring down his father’s retreating figure. His scowl deepened.
“Like I was saying earlier, you idiot-"
"I'm not an idiot!"
"I’m not finished yet but I could leave your damn arm hanging off to sway with the wind if you want.”
Ooshiba huffed and turned up his nose and he was going to cross his arms over his chest until he remembered his injury a little too late and yelped when it dangled like a pendulum. Well then.
Kimishita smirked at the other’s put off expression.
“Whatever. Just fix my arm.”
“Sit your ass down then.” He retorted and waited while Ooshiba did as directed and easily heaved himself back on the table. Kimishita cracked his own back and rubbed his neck as he took another look at the large cables that were supposed to act as muscles. He didn’t need to ask if the guy had any pain receptors. He’d been cringing enough for it to be obvious but …
So, do you wanna be shut down or … can you deal with the pain?”
“Um, I’ll just deal with it.”
Kimishita shrugged. “If you say so.” He agreed and resumed his work on Ooshiba’s arm. It was oddly quiet after that, the only other noise in the shop being Ooshiba’s somewhat labored breathing and the sound of evening traffic as he rotated the dislocated limb and forced the joint back into its socket with a ‘pop’. It must’ve hurt because Ooshiba sucked in a sharp breath and gripped his thigh with his human arm until his knuckles turned white and Ooshiba’s jeans wrinkled under the pressure.
“Fucking hurts.” Ooshiba hissed.
Kimishita actually felt bad for him and pointed to the slab of steel. “Almost done. Grab that with your robotic arm and just let it hang.” He instructed and when Ooshiba did, he was pleased to see the tension cables stretch out.
“It’s heavy.”
“Stop complaining.” Kimishita chided and started to mend the cables stretching from the hinge of his elbow to the ball joint of his wrist. He finished one and repeated the steps over again. And once again in the repetition, his gaze wanted to wander the faintest bit. He stayed focused however and did a fantastic job ignoring how Ooshiba's eyes were searching his face and watching his every move.
“Okay,” Kimishita announced once he finished up the last cable, tested the tension and closed the area back up as best he could. “You’re missing some skin, but it's all done.” He wiped sweat from his brow and cleaned off his hands with a rag before looking back at Ooshiba who was busy looking absolutely thrilled as he swung his arm in a large circle and flexed experimentally. Kimishita couldn't help but wonder if Ooshiba even remembered him from last night. After all, the other hadn't brought it up at all. But then again, neither had he.
“C’mon” He sighed. “We gotta see my dad.”

During the lockdown, this Bengaluru company is using an app to bring farm-fresh produce to seven cities
India’s farming community hardly had the time to celebrate the bumper harvest that followed an unusually wet winter, before it got hit by the nationwide lockdown to stem the spread of Coronavirus.
Unlike sectors where goods can be held in storage for a reasonable amount of time, agriculture thrives on fresh produce being sold within hours of being picked from the farm. Bengaluru-headquartered Ninjacart, reportedly one of India’s largest fruit and vegetable supply chain companies, has moved in to ease the plight of farmers and help people stay indoors, with an app-based fresh produce sales plan.
Targeted at residents of apartment blocks inChennai, Delhi, Gurugram, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Ninjacart ensures location-specific vegetable and fruit sales for the duration of the COVID-19 lockdown. Customers need to download the Ninjacart app from Google Playstore (it doesn’t have an iOS version), and fill out an online form with details of location, identity proof and so on. Ninjacart then assigns a mobile seller to the registered apartment block (with a minimum order of 50 kilograms per building).
“The COVID-19 pandemic really caught all of us by surprise,” says Ninjacart co-founder and CEO Thirukumaran Nagarajan, who prefers to be known simply as ‘Thiru’. “From a supply chain business, we have transformed ourselves into a company on a par with an essential service provider — just like you need hospitals to be working during lockdown, you need fruits and vegetables to be available daily too.” The COVID-19 effort has seen the five-year-old company change its operations as well, says Thiru. “So far, we have covered 1,000 apartments in six cities, with the help of 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers and staff. With many of our drivers being on the road for 12 or 13 hours daily, besides all our other executives and labourers putting in long hours, we realised that we had to provide them food, and if necessary, accommodation as well, to help them carry out their duties effectively. This was totally new for us,” says Thiru.

An electrical engineer with an MBA from IIM-Kozhikode, Thiru was part of several technology startups before co-founding Ninjacart with Sharath Loganathan, Vasudevan Chinnathambi, Kartheeswaran KK, Ashutosh Vikram and Sachin Jose. “Though I have moved away from my core degree, the Engineering mindset helped in solving a lot of operation-related problems,” says Thiru. For him and his team, selling fruits and vegetables with greater transparency was just an opportunity waiting to happen.
“Farming is an emotional profession, and that’s why our relationship with our growers doesn’t end with our transaction; we keep working on other aspects like their farming outlays and crop plans to make sure that they can make a profit on their harvest,” he says.
At present, Ninjacart has more than 50,000 farmers under its umbrella in as many as 20 states, and supplies fresh produce to over 60,000 local groceries and restaurants in Chennai, Delhi, Gurugram, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Mumbai is temporarily out of service during the COVID-19 alert. Which in logistical terms, is around 1,400 tonnes of produce graded and delivered within 12 hours, using data analytics and technology.
Perhaps, the biggest game-changer has been the removal of the commission agent from the agri-business model. Says Thiru, “Besides increasing the farmer’s revenue by at least 20%, we also ensure freshness. From the time we get it from the farmers until when it reaches the retailers, the consignment is not touched.”

MetroPlus had an opportunity to see the agritech company at work at a collection centre on Chikka Thirupathi Road in Bengaluru, a week before the COVID-19 alert was issued in March. The open-plan centre smells fresh, just like the greens that farmers from approximately 25 villages in the vicinity kept bringing in mini trucks for grading. “We have certain criteria for our produce, in terms of shape and weightage, which farmers have to adhere to, which is why we have a manual grading process,” says Ninjacart executive Naveen Reddy.
As we watch, a mini truck carrying capsicum and baby snake gourd gets readied for dispatch to retailers. Crates are fixed with radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags that help in seamless end-to-end operations. The consignment is weighed and a statement of accounts is given to the farmer. All payments are made by electronic transfer.

There are 14 such collection centres dotting Bengaluru, which Ninjacart considers to be its toughest market yet.
“Bengaluru is the horticulture hub of India. It is tougher for us to show a stark differentiation in the quality of the market and our product here, since so many fruit and vegetable farms are located close to the city. But having made an impact in Bengaluru has helped us replicate our business model in other cities,” says Thiru.

This ends with asking for money or donation. Once you have paid money, they tie a Moli Dhaga (red thread) on your wrist which will ward off rest of scammers. People may approach and asks you to hold a flower or petal. This is a “sales” pitch for a scam. It may look harmless; it’s best to ignore and move on.
How To Avoid Scam
Buy a Moli Dhaga from the market before heading towards the lake and tie it around your wrist. You can seek help from your local hotel staff for procuring one. This thread will send the scammers a signal that you have already been “scammed”.
You don’t have to pay any charges for visiting any temple or ghats so don’t fall for any pressure techniques.
You can walk around ghats barefoot; there is no prohibition if you take off your shoes and socks.
Choose early hours of the morning when visiting Pushkar Ghats.
Don’t respond to offers for accepting flowers/ petals or performing religious ceremonies.

At Google I/O, organizers used a 360 degree camera to record keynote speeches so virtual attendees could watch live from all over the world. From renting out a large, multi-level warehouse in a secret location to creating more than a dozen themed spaces, SpaceX provides an example of an event worth looking forward to all year. Wrapping Up: Event Marketing Example Takeaways
Just to review the big picture, here are some of the common threads between these great event marketing examples that you can apply to your next gathering.
Throw an event based on your audience’s interests. No need to guess - with modern event software, data can be collected, analyzed, and assessed to help provide clues as to what event you should consider hosting for clients and prospects.
Have a clear “why”. Even if your entire goal is to provide a fun and memorable experience, take a page from the examples above and make sure you have a specific focus.
Incorporate your brand’s mission and values into every event you throw. As we’ve seen with multiple types of events, most of the companies in this article used their own company’s messaging for inspiration to create truly unique experiences.
Now, go make something wonderful happen.
