Szerintem francia bélyeg még talán nem is szerepelt a blogon, legfeljebb közvetetten. Na de most, ráadásul egy egész érdekes, szerintem kevesen hallottak itthon az illetőről. Ez egy 1994-es emlékbélyeg Laurent Mourgouet halálának 150. évfordulójára. Na de ki is volt ő? Egyrészt a fickó a bélyeg bal alsó sarkában, de amúgy meg híres bábjátékos ÉS fogász. Ehhez jó a sztori mindjárt mondom, viszont ami fontos, hogy nem szimplán csak játszott, hanem bábokat, egyedi karaketereket készített, melyből a leghíresebb a bélyegen jobb felén nagyban látható Guignol, aki egy selyemművest formáz meg. Na de, hogy is történt ez?

Mourgouet Lyonban született, szerény selyemműves családban 1769-ben. Hamar befogták, sokáig még olvasni sem tanult meg, aztán a Francia Forradalom kitörésekor a selyemkereskedelem nehéz helyzetbe került, így házaló ügynök lett. Aztán a század végén kitanult a fogász mesterséget, ami ekkoriban lényegében csak a foghúzást jelentette, a pénzt a fájdalomcsillapítókból keresték az 'orvosok'. Ekkor jött az ötlete, hogy a szerencsétlen delikvenseket bábjátékkal szórakoztassa, elterelvén kicsit a figyelműket. Egyre ügyesebb lett, és 1804-ben teljesen otthagyta a fogász szakmát, és csak a bábelőadásokra koncentrált. Eleinte olasz karaktereket 'vett kölcsön' és franciásított, de aztán fokozatosan fejlesztette ki saját karaktereit a lyoni mindennapok emberéből. Guignol 1808-ban jelent meg és vált a legikonikusabb karakterré, kicsik és nagyok körében egyaránt, és idővel Lyon egyik helyi szimbólumává is. Laurent örökségét számtalan leszármazottja vitte tovább generációkon keresztül, az utolsó Mourgouet aki a Guignolról elnevezett bábszínházat üzemeltette Lyonban, 2012-ben hunyt el, természetesen mások viszik tovább az örökséget, és a mai napig vannak előadások.

A bélyeg tehát az 1844-ben bekövetkezett halál kerek évfordulójára készült majd 14,5 millió példányban, ennek megfelelően, bár szerintem kifejezetten jól néz ki és különleges, nem képvisel nagy értéket, így használtan 50-100 forintért kapható.

The second doll turning 10 today, Guignol. He’s more a minor character and the engineering is wonky but still a fun doll to have around. I think I will put him onto my “want to repaint”-list as soon as that one is shorter again, I have improved a lot since the last time.

if they know even half of what's happened to you, they should be thanking god every day that you're still alive. I just keep hearing him say it. all these things he knows; what it's like to have a monster in the family; what it's like to have your best friend die at school; what it's like to be the last person somebody spoke to on the phone; what it's like to be at the club in 2002 with how much you want to die written all over your body and the dull, sick, hypnotic glow of it in your eyes; what it's like to write a suicide note at the age of ten. that's not even - like, that's all canon. like what the fuck

Portable! Guignol ( Yugure’s witch form) is more of a skull faced reaper hood figure being controlled by puppet strings, while Rebellion story!Guignol is more of a wooden puppet being crucified to a space pattern cross with a large torn up space patterned reaper hood surrounding him.

Random BL Superlatives: 2023 Edition

It's the end of the year and I'm feeling the need to give out some awards! We talk a lot about best show, best actors, best writing, best directing, blah blah but I gotta be honest, these are the categories that really spoke to me this year. In no particular order:

Best supporting garment: Porsche’s sweater, A Boss and A Babe

This man managed to perform one of the hottest scenes of the year with that bowl cut monstrosity on his head. Respect must be paid.

BUB gave us so many gifts, but I will always be most thankful for the business gay performance concept (BGP), a term that is highly relevant in discussions of the bl industry.

It's not only the succinct phrasing, but also the delivery method.

Best ex who deserved better: Alan, Moonlight Chicken

Yes, I will be staying on the Alan apologist beat in 2024, thank you for asking.

The moment this show captured my full attention.

Best WTF ending: The End of the World With You

Best weapon: sparkle murder dust, Khun Chai

Truly the MVP of this show. I can't find an actual gif of the dust in action (too violent to be depicted) so enjoy these pretty men instead.

Best great character trapped in a bad show: Boston, Only Friends

Best bl horror: Grand Guignol

I just need to make sure all you jbl fans know that this movie exists and that Issei fucked Mr Unlucky!!! IYKYK.

Best character comeback: Phupha, Our Skyy 2

Denny in that layby, watching the cars come in. oh, he said with real astonishment, I do - I see it, I really do look kind of like him. only from some angles, and only the old Denny, the thing I fell in love with, not the bizarre shape of him now, recognisable/unrecognisable. and who cares, I guess, none of that's important. I just - do know. I remember. I remember him in that cheongsam with the black lipstick he wore for me and how beautiful I wanted to find him and how sick I felt instead. I told Guignol about the time I discovered that album and asked Denny if we could fuck to it and he was like 'um, no thanks, that album's really old news' and Guignol stared at me for a solid ten seconds of incredulity and then said I really think that's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard in my life. which was/is always nice. but.

but, I get it. he hated himself and he moved like that, a cobra sway in the half darkness. I'm the seed in your head/if you're good, then you'll dream/if you're good, if you're bad, if you're good, if you're bad. I don't know what I'm even writing about at this point. just getting back some more old things, maybe.
