Wayfinder Guided Home Achievment

Cool gw1 reference that helps get alts into Skywatch Archipelago easily that @moth-tea-merchant told me to make a post about, as maybe other people don't know this so YIPPEE here's some instructions

Pretty sure you'll have needed to complete the first few missions on one character in SOTO involving Skywatch to activate this.

What you'll need to do is hop to Adorea Waypoint [&BIUBAAA=] in the Plains of Ashford, and swim underwater to the other side of the lake

(Where the player icon is)

There'll be an underwater passage probably surrounded by drakes (Circled in red), swim through that until you see an object named Mysterious Book in front of an arch. Interact with it (There will be a white flash) and a portal to Skywatch opens up. The book is written by Elementalist Aziure, a character that featured in GW1 that taught you elementalist skills!

Go through and your character can now access Skywatch Archipelago, and you've also completed the Wayfinder Guided Home achievement!

The Astral Ward are an amazing foil to the Pact; because while the Pact wasn't sure what they were doing was right and ended up saving the world multiple times, the Astral Ward is convinced of its own moral superiority and yet they nearly committed genocide against the Kryptis. Many of the Astral Ward leaders are still xenophobic towards the Kryptis even after Peitha proved that it was a fascist minority that was the enemy, meanwhile Pact leaders are radically accepting of whoever wants to join the fight for good... even former enemies.

And Isgarren is a foil to Trahearne, especially in fate. Trahearne was just a scholar who wanted to do good versus Isgarren as a powerful wizard from the get-go, and yet it was Trahearne who gave his life towards the defense of Tyria while Isgarren spends most of his time holed up in the Wizard's Tower... reading fanfiction of himself. And I include the fanfiction detail because how self-obsessed can you be to not only have enjoyed fanfiction of yourself but then keep it under your goddamn pillow?!

I feel like while the ending of SoTO was rushed, it wasn't an accident or last-minute decision. That very ending where the Astral Ward chose to keep treating the Kryptis as potential crimminals was supposed to be eye-opening for what the Astral Ward actually was: a hypocrite's organization that has only stayed aloft because of the few and far between good people it's pulled into it's fold. And when you compare it to the Pact, it becomes more obvious it's shortfalls.

Here's hoping Zojja will become the Astral Ward's saving grace, because for me? There's not much else going for them.

Alright, I’ve personally been wondering what other people’s opinions on this would be, so

*I know IBS isn’t a true expansion but it’s got its own mastery line so I’m counting it

Replaying POF. Something really deeply funny about how alone the Commander feels going into path of fire. Like if the Commander has a character flaw it's hyper independence.

So the commander is going into the desert to fight the god of war and you only ask for a ride. That's it. And if you would have asked some Shining blade more than likely could have been spared, you could have gone to the pact for aid.

And Then half your friends who aren't busy or bedridden or mad af at you, show up any fucking way. Rylock just like "what up hear you where tussling with the god of war, I want in" he has zero clue that it's the same dude he met in the mist he's not even there for atonement his just there for vibes.

Speaking of just vibes. Coming in with "I was bored heard you where here so like what's up? Where are we going?" Canach is like "I don't have an evil woman to boss me around.... Sup commander" once again no atonement, he already did that. He's just bored.

Then we have our bravest little toaster Kasmeer. This bitch is a believer. A

But one thing about Kasmeer Meade is that she's your friend and guild mate first and foremost, and a believer in the six second. Kasmeer believes in you more than she believes in the gods she was raised to believe in. I just wish they explored that more in story.

Kasmeer believes in you more than gods. She believes in her friends more than gods.

Canach would bet on you everytime.

Rylock believes in your leadership more than the most important thing which is his legion. Which he was tribune for.

Which is why it's night and day from what's going on with SOTO. All the sudden no one gives a fuck about where you are. And that's why it's jarring and over all doesn't feel right.

Kinda fucked that the Astral Ward made the kryptis agree to a deal where no kryptis are allowed to enter tyria but they have to let the ward into nayos to keep a constant military watch over them at all times. And then isgarren has the AUDACITY to call the commander naive. I don't even care if next expansion peitha turns out to be the most untrustworthy traitorous villain in all the history of tyria i support her no matter what because fuck the wizards. 🖕 If she turns evil good for her I'll become evil too my loyalty is now to the midnight king 💕

are they heretical, cursed to be denied by the spirits before they had a choice?
