Okey so i study literature and there's the guy dude called Michel Foucault who is in fact a pain in the ass to read and understand But he talked a lot about spaces and in that he formed the term heterotopia™ which is like space within space, room that is part of the rest but at the same time not at all. Maybe because it has different rules or a different timeorder or because it houses parts of society that just don't fit in.

This can for example be a jail or a museum or even a hallway. It always depends on the function of the space.

And what i find really interesting about Klune books (namely hitcs and utwd) is how well he incorporates these heterotopias like marsyas Island is such a deviational heterotopia. And Charon's crossing obviously as well, i mean there is a different concept of time and it also has a specific function (crossing) which makes it a liminal space as well. (Tho as far as i can tell every liminal space is also a heterotopia)

And he takes these places that have specific functions and are always apart from society and tunes them into homes and I can't put this into words but this is imo a deepy queer experience or dream (see cottage core, see found family, see queer squattings, see general view of the society on the queer community)

And that is on the one hand so incredible and beautiful but most importantly so funny because if you heared the word "Heterotopia" without context for the first time noone in their right mind would think of queer books first that word sounds like a place where you can buy sport jerseys very cheap or smt

Joji as the most timid and shy among the 88rising crew and even if he seems wild they still consider him as the sad and soft boi when he's backstage/ Joji behind the scenes at HITC or his own concert.

He never got used to this. He was standing in his own green room, with flowers sent from various friends off to the sides, and snacks gotten just for him, even a jar of red vines with his name marked on it as a joke from August. It was ironic to have it even called a green room. It was really just cinderblock walls with black painted on it, and mirrors and lights that lit up his somber reflection when he looked in it.

He could hear the sounds of the Higher Brothers screaming in their own room. They always seemed to get excited before shows, and usually Brian and Keith joined them. August was probably out back with Don, getting the crowd excited before they could enter the amphitheater and flirting with the girls.

“Joj. You okay?” That was her nickname for him. She had caught him staring off too hard into the mirror and fumbling with an ear piece that was anywhere near but his face.

“Oh. Yeah.” He broke into a smile as he turned his head to look at her, and gestured up to his head with his fingers. They didn’t have to say anything to both know that he was caught up with himself. “Can you plug me in, Nik?” That was his nickname for her. Contrary to how Brian loved to tease them, they weren’t seeing each other. George didn’t love her, and she didn’t love him. They were both just introverts that would rather spend moments before their concerts meditating, he guessed.

She smiled herself, and closed her laptop, and stepped behind him on her tippy toes (she was 3 inches shorter than him), her hand slipping under his arm for the wire to clip to the earpiece she was settling with perfection. George never understood how she always got it on the first try.

“Nik?”

“Yeah, Joj?” She patted the cherry blossom on his shoulder as she got the ear piece settled, and stepped back to the futon in the corner, sliding her laptop against sweatpants.

He turned, and looked at her for just a moment as he tried to remember how to breathe. “How do you do this?”

She rolled her eyes, a thumb reaching to lightly brush against her perfectly pencilled eyebrow. “Joj.. You’ve been doing this for over a year now.. You’d think you’d be used to it.” She flapped her hand, as if it was just a trivial but vital question like whether the stove had been left on. “You and I both know that once you look at the crowd cheering for you, you’ll get that stupid cocky grin, and you’ll scream some stupid joke that I won’t understand, and the crowd’ll go wild.” She held both of her hands up against her head, and for a minute she looked like a reindeer, as she mimicked the sounds of the crowd with an enthusiastic but wheezed, “Aaaaaahhhhhhhh”.

George smirked, while Niki rambled on. “And then, you’ll come off stage all sweaty, and Brian and Sean will cheer you on, and the whole crowd’ll go out for drinks after, and you’ll go back to.. This.” She gestured to his face, swirling an imaginary circle.

George’s smirk dissipated. “I’m that bad, huh?”

Niki shrugged. “You keep to yourself.. I like that. Brian likes that. I think Sean respects that too.. But I think you’d do a lot better hanging out with MaSiWei and Melo.. They’d at least get you out of your self deprecating funk.”

George hadn’t considered that. It did sound like some kind of sport locker room pep talk going on just down the hallway. A knock was heard on the door, and Sean popped his head in. Sean was the only fucker that George knew who wore sunglasses inside, all the time, unironically.

“Hey, the show’s starting. Keith’s opening, and.. well, you guys’ve got the schedule.” He grinned, a bright cocky smile that George always recognized. It was the smile that a coach gave knowing they were going to win, or the smile of a farmer proudly cleaning his crops for market the next day. “You guys ready?”

George forced a smile. “Yeah.”

“You’re gonna do great, Joj.”

Huddersfield Town's move for Borussia Dortmund defender Erik Durm is in danger of falling through, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Huddersfield had lined up a move for full-back Durm, with Terriers boss David Wagner a big admirer of the player from his time working at Dortmund.
