Y'know, I knew when I posted this that the Marxio Bros would definitely have some fans out there. But they just don't do anything for me, I'm afraid. I wasn't interested in them reading the comic as a kid and that hasn't changed seeing them now. At least the art makes their mech look great?

I imagine Grouchio is the Mario jack of all stats equivalent, Chicio is the one with the fluttery jump and bad traction and Harpio has that horn (it can clear out all enemies at once on the screen) he has been seen with but jumps really badly. He is super OP in theory but was added late during development and can’t actually clear all stages due to his bad jumping (compare Lori from Jazz Jackrabbit).

La hazaña de Alison en Eugene: 46s.29 y título mundial

En la noche de este martes 19 de julio, en el estadio Hayward Field de Eugene, Oregón, considerado uno de los “templos” del atletismo mundial, el brasileño Alison Brendom Alves dos Santos acaba de concretar una actuación excepcional. Conquistó los 400 metros con vallas en 46 segundos y 29 centésimas, pulverizando su récord sudamericano (tenía 46s.72 desde su bronce olímpico en Tokio el 3 de agosto del año pasado) y el récord de los Campeonatos Mundiales, donde ahora se constituyó en el primer hombre de su país en llevarse un título a lo largo del historial, además de aportar la 14ª. dorada para el atletismo sudamericano. Alison terminó con una convincente ventaja sobre el subcampeón olímpico y recordman estadounidense Rai Benjamin, quien marcó 46s.89, quedando el bronce para su compatriota Trevor Bassitt con 47s.39. El francés Wilfried Harpio, a pesar de trastabillar sobre la llegada, consiguió el cuarto puesto con 47s41 y luego se ubicaron el estadounidense Khallifah Rosser con 47s88 y el jamaiquino Jahel Hyde con 48s.03. El noruego Karsten Warholm, campeón olímpico y autor de un fabuloso récord mundial de 45s.94 en los Juegos en Tokio, terminó ahora 7° en 48s.42, en un dramático desenlace: prácticamente se “hundió” en la recta final, cuando parecía que llegaba con posibilidades. Defendía el título logrado en dos oportunidades –Londres 2017 y Doha 2019- pero evidentemente no se encontraba en su mejor forma, después de la lesión en el muslo derecho, el 5 de junio, al iniciar su temporada de competencias en Rabat. El octavo puesto de la final correspondió a Rasmus Mägi, de Estonia, con 48s.92. Warholm, un ex decathleta y luego especializado en 400 vallas, había sufrido su última derrota en esta prueba en setiembre del 2018 en Ostrava, República Checa. “Fue una carrera muy dura", reconoció ahora Warholm en Eugene. "Tuve una lesión, pero para mí siempre es luchar y darlo todo y dejarlo todo en la pista. Espero que mirando hacia atrás me sienta orgulloso de ello aunque prefiera llevarme una medalla". A diferencia del noruego, que arribó con dudas a este Mundial, Alison venía pletórico de triunfos y de confianza, invicto a lo largo de sus pruebas internacionales del 2022. “Es impresionante ganar el título mundial en esta pista. Poco después, Warholm ganó aquella final olímpica con wr, delante de Benjamin (46s19) y Alison (46s.72). Pero ahora, es el turno del brasileño, el nuevo rey de la disciplina.
