Interview - William Grefe - He Came From The Swamp
Interview – William Grefe – He Came From The Swamp
Q1: Did you ever think your films would be given the Blu-ray treatment like this? In all my emails and Facebook, people from all over the world love this Blu-ray edition. I’m hearing from strangers and people I’ve met over the years – it’s interesting how people love the old grindhouse movies. It’s a lost art. Arrow have called this boxset He Came From The Swamp – they won’t let me out of the…

Killer sharks and human jellyfish and living mummies, oh my! Arrow Video is proud to present the first ever collection of works by William “Wild Bill” Grefé, the maverick filmmaker who braved the deep, dark depths of the Florida everglades to deliver some of the most outrageous exploitation fare ever to go-go dance its way across drive-in screens.
Bringing together seven of Grefé’s most outlandish features, all new to Blu-ray, He Came from the Swamp: The William Grefé Collection packs in a macabre menagerie of demented jellyfish men (Sting of Death), zombified witch doctors (Death Curse of Tartu), homicidal hippies (The Hooked Generation) and seductive matrons (The Naked Zoo) – not to mention the ubiquitous go-go dancing college kids – to create one of the most wildly entertaining box-sets of all time!

STING OF DEATH (1966) | Movie Review | FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL
A spoiler-y review about a group of students vacationing in the Florida Everglades that comes up against a mad marine biologist's assistant who transforms himself into a Human/Jellyfish Monster hybrid and goes on a murderous rampage.
This was one of the VOD selections available in this year's lineup of the 24th (virtual) edition of the Fantasia International Film Festival held from August 20th to September 2nd 2020.
"Sting Of Death" will be part of a BOX SET released by ARROW VIDEO on November 24th 2020 which you can pre-order now titled "He Came From The Swamp: The William Grefé Collection". The VOD screening I watched was a newly restored 2K transfer from the original 35mm negative and looked quite good.
Directed by: William Grefé.
