The good news about being around me is that I am always carrying chapstick. The bad news is there's a 50/50 chance it's tinted ahahah. But yeah! You've been here so many times and yet.

Truthfully it does not bother me as I was born and raised here and to me this is The Way Things Ought To Be. When JIll moved here from a humid place, I just tossed a wet towel in the hamper and she goes, "You're gonna get mildew!!" and I said 'lol no I won't' lo and behold, the towel was dry a day later. Things don't' mold on my kitchen counters. I can leave an orange or whatever there and it never molds, it just becomes a dried husk. I had to teach Jill that you absolutely have to put loti9on on your face in the morning, my very masculine grandfather slathered gold bond on his face twice a day, it is for survival. (Her first year with flaking cheeks she relented)

Honestly, the only thing that bothers me is when I go to any place with humidity, it is so gross and bizarre to me. I was in the Uk and freaked out one morning, going, "Why is every piece of my fucking clothing wet??" My hair is cut and styled for a dry environment and just...sadly flops over. Misery.

I look forward to repaying the Drowning on Land that your fine country gave me. I will have to pass you a water bottle and some lotion when you get off the plane and just say, "Good luck." Because your hair is curly, you may have to borrow some of my mom's conditioner. Dry weather is murder on curly hair.

oh i am fighting a losing battle against the 25% HUMIDITY IN THIS HOUSE. I CANNOT GET IT TO GO HIGHER. MY NOSE IS SO DRY I CAN SMELL MUCUS. YEAH IT'S GROSS.

4:30am and all keyed up from my daughter coming into the room covered in blood from a nosebleed.

So there was much soothing to be done and blood to clean out of sheets and comforters and mattress protectors (but, thank fuck, no stuffies).

Had Mars laughing about the whole situation in the end, so I consider the soothing a success. And it appears that almost all the blood came out of the two most important items (sheets and comforters). All considering, I think things went as well as one could hope for.

Still pretty keyed up though. Definitely going to have to chill for a bit before even attempting to sleep again.
