Henshin Ninja Arashi (bottom image) was intended to be an Edo period version of Kamen Rider (both characters were created by Shotaro Ishinomori).  In recognition  of that, the Oni Armor (top image) that appeared in Kamen Rider Hibiki bore more than a passing resemblance to everyone’s favorite ninja chicken.

Henshin Ninja Arashi not being super well remembered compared to Ishinomori's other toku, at least among western fans, is ironic given, according to Japanese Wikipedia, the sheer AMOUNT of shit Toei threw at the wall in desperate pursuit of ratings.

when the category we're getting into is like "ishinomori toku from the 70s that wasn't rider or sentai" and the question is which one is most 'well known' this image forms in my mind

I really hope this leads to renewed interest in Hotel. I would love to see the original manga translated, since from the bits & pieces I've seen, it's possibly Ishinomori's most fundamentally humanist work. No tragic ruminations of lost humanity; no fascist cults with dark conspiracies; no "is Kei from Detective K technically a trans man?"; no robots struggling to develop their own humanity; no whatever the hell Henshin Ninja Arashi was.

Just humans working at a hotel.

But then again, maybe it does have all that as well. It depends on whether or not Ishinomori had an editor that would tell him to tone things down.
