hey there! i was looking through your tumblr backlog and realize how you guys really kind of have a thankless job, so i wanted to stop and say thank you for everything you do!! badass is my favorite bl series ever and i never would have found it unless you guys didn't make it available, thank you so much!!

Ahahaha, well, you are very welcome. Scanlation is a labor of love for masochistic perverts perfectionists, I think. 😂. Ahhh, so happy that you love Badass, it’s one of our very favourites too, even if the redrawing sometimes makes me question my sanity haha. Of course, now the lovely Kimchi helps out with the cleaning, she gets to question my her sanity instead. 😎. I should be able to start typesetting chapter 6 shortly too, as our translator for the series is back from the shackles of university work, and for once, we have plot! Not quite sure that I think of that. 😂

So like these art post about "Hero scans" I thought it was a manga now I'm confused. I'd like to ask about he name Hero Scans, what is it specifically ?

Haha, you mean on our group’s credit pages? Well, Hero Scans is the name of our scanlation group, and as we don’t tend to watermark we just include our group pages with our releases so it’s really fast for people to see that a release is ours. Making them is basically me indulging myself with artwork that I love, so we have quite a few of them. 😂

The name comes from the fact that the group was formed originally to work on Hitorijime My Hero. Though the original group leader moved on, I took over the group, and we no longer work on Hitorijime... we kept the name.

Badass is just, well, badass. 😎 Ahaha, while we do work hard to make our translations as good as possible, trust me when I say that the original Japanese is witty and hilarious. We’re just working with the excellent text that Sensei is providing. ❤️. Thanks for letting us know how much you enjoy it!

So that’s where the name came from! Ive always loved that the teams called hero scans cuz y’ll saving us from real life with these amazing scans :D but also cuz it’s simple and direct

Ahaha, you’ll be feeding our egos and savior complexes with such praise. ;) Speaking as the one who works to find cool ways to make the words ‘Hero Scans’ look good on a page, the fact that the two words are short and very close in length gives me lots of room to play with. If we had a longer super cool name, I’d be fucked. 😂
