Japanese idol groups have a literal soul purifying effect on me. As in, if I were a magical girl in the Madoka universe and my soul gem had gotten as dark as night, I could watch some idol performances and get it cleaned up real good and real fast. It's amazing. Bless each one of those girls.

I can't help but wonder if all the executives at Upfront are men in their 50s-60s, or if they assume all H!P wota fit that demographic because new members are consistently styled like idols from the late 80s and early 90s. Take Murata Yuu, for instance - in the latest Tsubaki Factory group photo she looks like she stepped out of 1992. Wtf? It's frustrating when you look at other girl groups like Nogizaka, Hinatazaka, EbiChu and Little Glee Monster who welcomed new audition members.

There are 10 akb pending graduations at the moment and I can only guess that one of these scenarios happened

-the rumor that management wanted to downsize is true and it is being…heavily suggested let’s say that the excess team 8 girls leave

-management flat-out told the members that the amount of promotion they’re getting now is all they’ve ever gonna get (since the focus is on getting money from individual popular members over doing anything with the group brand at this point) and the girls were told to take it or leave it

-the same as the one above except no one’s directly said anything its just that girls like the more recently transferred team 8 girls realize the writing on the wall and are dipping

Honestly it could be any of these imo but it makes the group pretty much too depressing to follow especially my kami oshi graduated 🫠 anyway time to stan like ske or hinatazaka I guess they’re the most stable of like any of them rn

O temor dos wota

Graduação. Sotsugyou. Sempre que você vê uma notícia sobre um grupo que você gosta e tem esse kanji aqui: 卒業, parece que o corpo gela, a espinha dói, o coração erra os batimentos. Às vezes a bichinha ficou 10, 12 anos no grupo. Às vezes ficou 1 ano. Mas dói.

Pior que isso, é quando não tem formalidade nenhuma. Só sai e pronto. No Morning Musume, claro, se você não dá uma de Yaguchi Mari e Fujimoto Miki, você ganha um vestido bonito e se der sorte, um center. Um solo, uma despedida bonita. Provavelmente vai cantar Never Forget, mas e daí? Agora... no Hinatazaka46 é um diplominha mesmo, igual de escola. Um programa de despedida no Hinatazaka de Aimashou. É, se não fizer igual à Iguchi Mao. Aliás, parabéns à mamãe e que o bebê esteja com saúde.

Mas, tem casos em que a idol graduada some. Tchau. No Morning Musume tivemos algumas... Kamei, Aika, Zukki... e, óbvio, estão entre as minhas favoritas. Mas também tem aquelas que graduam e param de cantar, o que é um luto por si só (eu sendo OgaMako oshi).

Pelo menos, hoje em dia, a maioria vira YouTuber ou Influencer de Instagram e vez ou outra fazem uma publi, e às vezes aparecem em algum evento comemorativo. Mas, no geral, pro fã, a graduação é um evento triste e desgracento.

i just finished watching this video that came up on youtube. what stood out to me was the mention of the ubiquity and consolidation of the internet. because there's only a few places to congregate and talk about the stuff you like, there's a intersection of very different interests that sometimes bleed into each other.

for example, take how kpop fans have interact with 48g. if we were back in the 2000s, everyone would just congregate on their own forum with no random back and forths that usually happen on twitter. everyone had their own corner of the internet to discuss their niche interests but now popular sites force everyone to be together.

i never really thought about it until i got into 48g seriously. it's my first real "fandom" since, like, 2009-2011-ish. i like to browse stage48 because it's nostalgic to a before time where you didn't have to engage with people who weren't fans of what you liked.

i wish there were places where that still happened. discord is close but since it's chat heavy, there are things that will get buried and not searchable. tumblr was great for fandoms in my opinion. yes, there were times where you'd get people from different fandoms coming in and talking shit but if you kept your shit tagged you didn't have to interact with "antis."

that's why i'm on here talking into the void. twitter can just be so mindlessly negative and all i wanna do is just enjoy bnk/48g/hinatazaka without the drama.

It’s the first meet and greet of the 32nd single and I’m so glad to be able to meet many new people for the first time! Of course there were many of you that I’ve met before and seeing you made me feel at ease (says the slightly shy Ikeda) I love you all

Spring knit, it was delightful

 I was able to make many wonderful announcement, and I received many congratulations so it was very wonderful and happy day!

As thanks I’m going to give you all a lot, the reason that I’m able to work so hard and do my best is because of all of you 🤲🏻

The other day I went to pay a visit to Hinatazaka46-san’s “4th Hinatansai”

Ever since ‘Hey! Ohisama!” in the blink of an eye the whole of Yokohama stadium was covered in Hinata colors and it made the members really shine…

It was a lot of fun and I was really excited, it was a wonderful performance. During the 4th generation member’s ‘Seishun no Uma’ I was unconsciously reminded of our audition because of how wide everyone’s eyes were👀

 I’m so happy that I got to see them ( っ◜~◝c)

Hinatazaka-san’s blue color and Ohisama’s yellow together, I really love it.

 The relationship between the group and the fans is lovely.

 I can also shine for the people watching, I want to be that kind of idol that is able to be wrapped in warmth like that, and it made me want to perform. Thank you for the wonderful live 🌈🤍

 I’m going to do my best for the Under Live in two days, please look after me!!!!!
