#Repost @auschwitz.study.group ・・・ Auschwitz now and then project Photo 1/5 throughout today In the photo you can see the old town square of Oświecim (Auschwitz) just before the Nazi occupation. The market square was renamed Adolf Hitlerplatz when the Nazis invaded and this location was equidistant between the Auschwitz mother camp and Auschwitz 3 Monowitz. In the background, you can see a BATA retail outlet. During the war, BATA employed Auschwitz slave labourers to work in their factory only a short distance from here.
