#Honorary Air Commandant Catherine Duchess of Cambridge
Text
Once upon a time there were only three (3) Cambridges: HRH Wills, HRH Catherine & HRH little Georgie
On July 8th 2016 HRH Prince George marked his upcoming 3rd birthday with his very first official UK Engagement.
The little prince accompanied his parents to the Royal International Air Tattoo in Gloucestershire. This air show at RAF Fairford is the largest event of its kind in the world. The celebrations mark the 75th anniversary of RAF Air Cadets, of which HRH Catherine is Honorary Air Commandant.
Although this is an official work day for my mum, Air Commandant HRH Catherine, as the only child in family, it is my duty to ensure that she sees & tests out EVERYTHING at my first air show.
We arrived and mum thanked everyone on behalf of Gan Gan, and for the family. People are watching us all over the world. On social media, some mums are upset about my attire. Please, someone take this msg to the editor over at that DM.
"No, I Prince George do not feel cold or chilly. It's humid today and I feel comfortable. How nice of you strangers to offer advice to mum and dad. Come see for yourselves."

First Stop: Up the steps and inside the Royal Australian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft. This is more than a plane, it's a flying house!
I met a nice pilot who held me in front of the open cockpit window so I could wave to our people.
Something odd happened to mum. I figured out how to climb back into the window and I raised my voice to talk to my people. Although I was holding on tightly, mum's face changed and her voice changed too. She yelled my name and told me to "come down out of that window!"
Pa called her a momma bear and although the pilot thought it was funny, we cut our Hercules tour short for safety precautions.
That's ok, I gave the house in the sky "Air Force C-130 Hercules" a thumbs up: kid tested & George approved.👍

Kid tested George approve 👍 More aircraft waiting to explore. Let's Go!

My EARS! My GUMS! My Ear Defenders! This level of noise was beyond anything I've ever experienced, except on the BP balcony. I'm teething & this noise hurts! Please excuse me while I scream for help. Someone get me outta here! Hurt! Hurt!
Tumblr media
Dad was right. Those Defenders helped me cope and then cuddles with mum made everything all better. We share a special bond. I'm her little koala bear.
Tumblr media
Dad's turn to have fun with Georgie. He showed me the Squirrel helicopter and the cockpit of a Red Arrow Hawk! Cool toys for me to play when I'm taller.
Tumblr media
I had a grand time showing mum & dad the sights & sounds at the annual air show. Kid tested, George approved 👍

The Duchess of Cambridge’s Stats - Third Quarter
In the third three months of 2021, the Duchess of Cambridge disappointed me daily completed only 13 engagements, averaging around 4.3 a month. In the same period last year, she completed 22 engagements. In July, Catherine was ‘pinged’ by the NHS Track and Trace app and it is believed she had to self-isolate for 9 days. During the same three months, the Cambridge family took their annual summer break. Her busiest month was September - which was second to last year as her busiest September ever without a tour - during which she completed 10 engagements. During September, she was also in 1 released photo/video/tweet, and was spotted 3 times. Catherine undertook 3 engagements in July - all at Wimbledon - and also attended the Euro 2020s final alongside her husband and eldest child. She didn’t complete any engagements in August.
Of her 21 patronages, she has visited or completed work for 4, totalling 7 engagements in total. In July, Catherine completed three engagements on behalf of both the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and the Lawn Tennis Association. In September, she completed four engagements - two on behalf of the Royal Foundation, one engagement for the Lawn Tennis Association, and one in her role as Honorary Air Commandant of the Air Cadets.
Of her 13 engagements, 7 have been solo and 3 accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Cambridge. In September, she attended the world premiere of the 25th James Bond film, ‘No Time To Die’, accompanied by her husband, as well as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. For all of her Wimbledon engagements, Catherine was also accompanied by the Duke of Kent, in his role as President.
11 of her 13 engagements have taken part in England. The other 2 engagements took place in Northern Ireland. Of the England-based engagements, 7 were London based, while 1 took place in Carterton and 3 took place in Cumbria.
Five of her engagements have been focused on sports - helped by the Wimbledon-based engagements in July. 2 of her engagements have been specifically linked to her Early Years Initiative, while a further 2 have been based on mental health specifically. She has also undertaken engagements around the themes of culture and the military.
Clotheswise, her most worn designer has been Emilia Wickstead and Poivre Blanc, while five of her clothing items have been unidentified. Her most carried bag designer was Mulberry, while she has carried only three other bags from different designers within this period (Josef, Tusting, Jaeger). Her most-worn shoe designers were Jimmy Choo and Emmy London, followed by Aldo, See by Chloe, On Running, Aquazzura and New Balance. Her most worn jewellery designer was Liv Thurlwell with 4 wears, followed by Halycon Days with 2. Her most worn accessory has, again, been Amaia Kids face masks (with 4 wears), while she has also worn her Wimbledon pin and Ray-Bans 3 times. Catherine has not worn any headgear within this period.

Patronages of HRH Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge [12/16]
In December 2015, the Duchess of Cambridge received her first military appointment, one which linked to her husband’s military career. The Duchess was made honorary air commander (or commodore) of the air cadets, a branch of the Royal Air Force. She took the role over from HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, who had held the post previously for 62 years. This was the only patronage the Duchess took on in 2015, due to her pregnancy and her maternity leave.
The Air Training Corps is a predominantly youth organisation, which is sponsored by both the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Air Force, and is no longer a recruiting organisation. Furthermore, most of the staff are volunteers, although some of them are paid. The ATC is community-based and open to anyone aged between 13 and 20 years. It is organised into more than 900 squadrons around the country and it the largest operator of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
In the two years since she has been patron of the Air Cadets, Catherine has only made a few visits to events. Soon after her patronage was announced, the Duchess helped to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadets, wearing the famous RAF brooch on loan from HM The Queen. She has also been to visit various Air Cadet branches over the years. It was also to an Air Cadet branch where she, along with her husband, took Prince George to his first official engagement on British soil: RAF Fairford.
After the patronage passed from the Duke of Edinburgh to the Duchess of Cambridge, Air Commodore McCafferty said: “We are absolutely thrilled that HRH The Duchess of Cambridge has agreed to be our Patron.“Her links to the RAF Family are already well established and her desire to support youth development is well recognised around the world.“We hope that by acting as our Hon Air Commandant she can see at first hand the amazing work of our adult volunteers who deliver a truly world-class cadet experience to many thousands of young people.”
