We meet again, Bohol!
As beautiful as the Philippines is, many destinations offer mostly sand and surf. But not Bohol. This province is known for unique attractions that you can’t find anywhere else in the Philippines.
Sure, other islands in the Philippines are worth recommending, too, but most boast one or two of the following — white beaches, incredible sites, diverse wildlife, interesting history. Bohol has them all. From wild encounters with dolphins and tarsiers to the incomparable views of the Chocolate Hills, Bohol is a province that is easy to promote. It doesn’t need much sales talk.
We stayed at Coastal View in Panglao, then we transferred to On Board Beach Hostel and Resort for some quiet alone time near the beach. The wedding was at South Palms Resort, and I can attest that this is probably the most exquisite hotel here, next to Bohol Beach Club.

I was tasked with the daunting task of speaking in front of everyone. I wasn't really prepared to cry, so I let the "funny" me take over. Let me share to you guys my speech during the wedding.
"Kamusta naman ang lahat? Nakainom na ba? Kung Hindi pa, ito na yung time. Haha. For everyone's reference, I'm jasfher ako yung favorite friend ng groom and bride. Jk. Haha.
Jk. Haha
Okay kidding aside, sige maybe I'll just start ho I met the bride and the groom. Tagalog yung speech ko so pasensya na. To our foreigner friends, welcome to the Philippines. Haha.
Si brux and karla orgmates ko from UP travel society. Hindi ko din alam paano nabuo yung barkadahan namin, pero I guess we all just clicked and nagkakaayaan na lang kumain, gumala, tumambay ganyan, and the rest was history.
Yung siargao kasi grabe talaga yun gabi-gabi kami lasing as in tumatakbo kami nina karla sa kalsada tapos hinahabol kami nina brux. Haha. Grabe talaga yun. Nung South Cotabato naman, natry namin yung highest zipline in the South East Asia, may nadaanan kaming apat na waterfalls ganun kataas. Tapos ang dami naming change costume nag T'boli traditional costume kami, tapos nag abaya and hijab kami nung pumunta kaming Grand Mosque. Very dubai ganon. Haha.
Indeed a matchmake in heaven walang distance distance. They will really make way to communicate, and show their love for each other. The yin to each other's yang.
So medyo ang haba na no? haha so summary and summary? Haha. Nakita ko silang nag grow, both literally and figuratively. As in kung may masasabi akong couple na tested by time and distance ay sila talaga iyon. In between those laughters, I know genuine love is there. Sobrang happy ko na nagkatuluyan kayo, and from day 1, alam kong kayo na talaga. I know madaming taon taon pa tayong pagsasamahan, at andito lang kami para sa inyo. Congratulations, Karla and Brux, and i only hope the best for you both. Mahal na mahal ko kayo 💕
Cheers to the brucals!" Probably the best and most heartfelt wedding I've been to. Cryfest. Literally shed buckets of tears. So this is how it feels like to see your close friends get married. I was so lucky to have witnessed this momentous event in our barkada (god and tanda na namin haha)

Summer is waving: Boracay remains AirAsia Philippines’ top island destination for 2024
Boracay, 16 February 2024 - Boracay continues to remain AirAsia Philippines’ fast-moving getaway destination for individual and group travelers prevailing over Bohol, Cebu, and Puerto Princesa.
Tumblr media
Latest AirAsia data shows that 250,000 guests have already planned and booked their flights to the island for travel from February, March, April, and May. This is already 72% of last year’s 377,000 guests flown to the island. The increasing figure is expected to contribute to Boracay’s economy, especially since the Department of Tourism and the Local Government of Aklan expect over 2.3 million tourists to visit the island this year.
“Boracay is top 3 in our most visited domestic destinations. It is not just the summer when we see an influx of guests flying to Boracay, but all year round. During the pandemic, this island was a haven for remote work set-up. Now, the island has regained its fame for short and long vacations”, AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.
To provide more convenience, especially for guests who are planning to extend their vacation on the paradise island, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline’s travel partner - TravelOnlinePH officially opened its Travel & Service Center right on the epicenter of Boracay to cater to tourists who would like to either have their tickets rebooked or book other flights elsewhere, find cheap hotels, activities, and other travel offerings, with the assistance of dedicated travel experts.
Tumblr media
Situated at Station 2, AirAsia’s Travel & Service Center is very accessible to guests since its location is also within close range of mid-range hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, and bars.
“Guests fly to the island to unwind and spend their holiday and we intend to always make their flight booking concerns hassle-free. TravelOnlinePH has always been an offline reliable partner and we extend our warmest congratulations as they achieve this milestone,” Dailisan added.

my dad called and asked me to join them in batangas.
no choice naman. basta I wont drive. so ayun my brother came over this morning and we went together.
i slept all the way. my brother was kind enough not to bother me with mundane conversations. i mean, he knows I lack sleep, tired and wanting rest.
they should understand.  I work 12 to 14 hours a day. kahit bakasyon, I work. I got this compulsion from my mom who never spent an idle time in here life. work was her stress reliever. work made her forget.
someone recently asked why I am always at the beach? and how much do I pay sa resort? the thing here is, i don’t book fancy hotels. magastos. besides  people know me for being frugal so much I wont buy stuff unless it is on sale.
and we do not have a slew of beach properties left and right. i have to correct that notion. we only have two. the one in Nasugbu and the other one in Bohol. The house in Zambales naman is owned by my grandfather and by that means “commonly owned” by the whole family - no one gets to own it nor sell it.

Famous Tourist Spots In Bohol
1. Chocolate Hills
Tumblr media
The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills, but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers. They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name.
It's magical, calm, stunning place.
Need to climb stairs to experience stunning view from top. Around 230 steps, there is parking and toilets and some space. Police assistance also available there and ATV rentals also available to experience multiple hills and to roam around in the forest. Totally worth visiting.Often dubbed as an ‘Eighth Wonder of the World,’ Bohol’s Chocolate Hills is a famed tourist attraction which continues to draw attention for its unique and scenic characteristics.
Curious why it’s called the Chocolate Hills when it’s not really made of chocolates? It’s because these hills, which are usually covered in green grass, dry up and turn chocolatey brown in color during the dry season. There are more than a thousand hills spread over an area of 50 square kilometers in the towns of Carmen, Batuan, and Sagbayan in Bohol. And, while the hills do vary in size, looking at these from afar, it seems like they’re almost symmetrical in shape. This results in a majestic landscape that might make you think it’s a man-made creation.
2. Bilar Man Made Forest
Tumblr media
The Bohol Mahogany Forest, more commonly known as the Bilar Man-Made Forest, is a dense forest stretching two kilometers along the border of Loboc and Bilar towns in Bohol. The forest is mainly made up of white and red mahogany trees. It is part of a reforestation project started over 50 years ago.
When one enters the forest, one will notice that the temperature changes abruptly, especially during the hot season. Once one is under the shade of the trees, everything cools down.
The man-made forest’s density is thanks to the consistency in the height of its trees and the considerable spread of their branches. The young trees grow straight up towards the sky, which is largely obscured by the branches and the thick leaves. The roots of the trees are beautiful to view as they extend from the ground and climb over boulders and curve around the land, even reaching the side of the road.
3. Hinagdanan Cave
Tumblr media
Illuminated by natural light, Hinagdanan Cave is majestic. Once the sunlight comes in through the holes on top, you can see the wondrous view of this cave. Also, the stalagmites inside the cave amplify its beauty.
•Beautiful rock formations inside the cave.
This cave is classified as a karst. In other words, it’s made of limestone. To reach the cave, you need to go through some steep steps. And sometimes, the path is slippery. But don’t worry because there’s a metalic railing that you can hold on to if you lose your balance.
4. Loboc River Cruise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cruise promises an enriched heritage experience. The refurbished boats are fitted with details in the Visayan vernacular architecture. Guests will enjoy a more elegant, culturally attuned journey through the waterway. The boats are now wider. Polished wooden floors, stained glass, capiz, and callado details have been installed on the vessels,”.
Tour operators are accepting advanced bookings, not only for the river cruise but for other tourist destinations in Bohol.
5. Alona Beach
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Located on Panglao Island, there lies a small yet serene stretch of tropical paradise – Alona Beach. This famed tourist attraction quickly became a crowd favorite among local and foreign travelers looking for a relaxing escape from the city. Its wonderful white sand beaches, stunning reefs, and crystal clear waters will surely leave you fascinated.
Why anyone is sure to love this beach?
Its white sand beauty, crystal clear waters, and numerous tourist-friendly activities make Alona Beach one of the most popular beaches in the Philippines. It’s also now home to a number of hotels and restaurants – ranging from budget-friendly accommodations to luxury attractions – that offer a great time to travelers while on the island of Panglao. Apart from being a relaxation hub, below are just some of the many reasons why travelers keep coming back to Alona Beach.

MINI STAYCATION
1st: Our favorite guilt free ice cream from Bohol! I had the avocado flavor and they’re pretty good. The durian as well. They also use cassava cones. Not the regular ice cream cone. Looking forward to try all the flavors 2nd: We had breakfast buffet at F1 hotel then we went out for a walk and ended up having iced coffee at Toby’s 3rd: View from the hotel plus my favorite view (my love)

Located inside the botanical garden where Donatela Hotel’s tasteful, charismatic villas are located, Tarsier Paprika sits atop a cliff, overlooking the great Bohol Sea beyond. It is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque restaurants in Bohol, a place you’d surely recommend to others because of their exceptional service, quality food, and unparalleled ambience.
This makes it ideal for partners and friends alike who would like to witness a gorgeous view of the sun setting against the shimmering waters of the sea. With Tarsier Paprika’s world-class flavors backdropped against a romantic landscape of al fresco dining, no wonder this fine dining restaurant has been the go-to place of those seeking solace in the arms of Panglao Island. We were lucky that this place was only a few minutes away from our hotel.
It’s best to be seated outdoors because of the view and the atmosphere, but they also have a room if you wish to be seated indoors. While waiting for your order, you can walk along the beach side path by going down the stairs; there, you’ll see the Bohol Sea up close and personal.

For our last meal in Bohol, we ate at Moss. From the moment you step into Moss, you’ll be captivated by the stunning interior design that blends modern aesthetics with traditional elements. The carefully curated decor, ambient lighting, and comfortable seating arrangement create an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere.
The attention to detail and the flavors in every dish were remarkable. They take pride in using only the freshest and finest ingredients sourced locally to ensure the highest quality in every dish. Whether you’re a seafood lover, a meat enthusiast, or a vegetarian, their diverse menu has something to tantalize every palate. What a way to cap our Bohol trip!

AirAsia Philippines Launches 1st P1SO Sale for 2024 with over 300,000 seats available
AirAsia Philippines is keeping a more competitive ticket pricing and the most enticing travel experience for guests, especially with summer fast approaching.  This is amidst various factors affecting travel in 2024 such as inflation and fuel prices.
Tumblr media
The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline is implementing ways to cushion the effects of volatile fuel prices following the Civil Aeronautics Board of the Philippines (CAB) memorandum of an increase in the Fuel Surcharge for the month of March at Level 6 from this month’s Level 5.
Depending on the destination, a level 6 Fuel Surcharge would mean an additional PHP185 to PHP665 for domestic flights and PHP 610.37 to PHP 949.51 for international flights. However, the airline is reminding guests that tickets bought within this month will not be affected by the Fuel Surcharge next month.
“AirAsia Philippines will continue to diversify its product offerings to cater the changing needs of our guests especially those belonging to the Gen Y and Z who are expected to travel more this year, and will be on a lookout for the lowest deals to save money”, AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.
As of February, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, and Puerto Princesa remained the top destinations travelers are looking forward to visiting domestically, while Bangkok, Incheon, Taipei, Narita, and Osaka remain on their bucket list for international travels.
To make travel more affordable, AirAsia Philippines is launching its very first PISO Sale for 2024. From 19 to 25 February, guests can enjoy a one-way base fare of PHP 1 for all domestic and international destinations for flights from 1 September 2024 to 18 June 2025. Over 300,000 seats will be made available for flights originating from AirAsia’s Manila, Cebu, and Clark hubs.
“PISO Sale is our commitment to ensuring affordable flights to our guests, especially those who are on a tight budget but would like to have a memorable travel experience. We remind our guests to be on the lookout for exciting promos and deals for flights, hotels, meals, and other ancillary products by visiting only our legit e-platforms - Fly AirAsia (Facebook), Superapp (MOVE) or via AirAsia’s official website (www.airasia.com)”, Dailisan added.

AirAsia Philippines supports tourism surge with the return of PH festivals
*AirAsia Philippines flew more than half a million guests for the first half of January
*AirAsia offers 2024 Blowout with all-month-round discounted one-way base fare of PHP68!
AirAsia Philippines strongly supports the vigorous return to the streets of colorful Philippine festivals such as Sinulog, Ati-atihan, and Dinagyang with discounted fares and an exciting blowout this January!
Festivities are known to captivate local and international travelers to visit different localities in the country. In January 2023, AirAsia Philippines flew a total of 580,000 guests to top destinations such as Cebu, Bohol, and Kalibo. This 2024, AirAsia has already flown 520,000 guests for the first half of January alone and projects a strong demand to also support the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) target of increasing tourist arrivals in the country.
Tumblr media
“AirAsia Philippines would like to open 2024 in a positive and festive mood. The Philippines, composed of 82 provinces, offers an array of festivals, which are worth exploring. At AirAsia we know that this is more than just the usual get-together — it’s a celebration of culture! During these important milestones, our guests can always rely on AirAsia’s affordable, reliable, and safe air travel. We would like to be that airline that would make every Filipino festival happen,” shared AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson and First Officer Steve Dailisan.
To entice more guests to visit their favorite Philippine festivals, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline is offering an all-month-round discounted one-way base fare of PHP68 to PHP98 to all of its domestic destinations! Aside from that, guests who will book their flights via the Superapp or airasia.com, until 12 February 2024 will get a chance to win vacation packages, free flights, hotel vouchers, and airasia points with the AirAsia 2024 Blowout!
Dailisan said these exciting deals along with AirAsia Philippines’ improved on-time performance (OTP) for January 2024 – averaging 93% for the past 7 days will attract more guests to fly with the World’s Leading Low-Cost Airline.
AirAsia Philippines is looking to fly more foreign guests from other ASEAN countries, especially with the scheduled merger of AirAsia X and AirAsia Philippines (and other AirAsia areas of operation). Seen to materialize in the months to come, this move is expected to consolidate all medium and long-haul flights which could create more opportunities for foreign travelers to explore the country as it will connect the Philippines with neighboring destinations.
Book your flights and favorite inflight add-ons including meals, refreshments, hot seats, and baggage options, and stay up to date on the latest travel advisories, guidelines, and deals through the airasia Superapp and AirAsia’s official website (www.airasia.com).
