Tara na’t Maglakbay: Isang Lakbay Sanaysay Patungkol sa Magagandang Tanawin Sa Bohol

          Ang Bohol ang isa sa mga lalawigan ng Pilipinas na palagiang binibisita ng mga turista taon-taon. Mula sa mga tarsier na nakakapit sa puno, hanggang sa Mala tsokolate nitong mga burol, ang Bohol ay isa sa mga natatanging lugar sa Pilipinas. Ang bohol rin ay puno ng mga kasaysayan magmula pa noong pananakop ng mga Espanyol na nagtayo ng kanilang mga simbahan sa lupaing ito. Pero kahit na maraming makikita sa bohol, ano ng aba ang pinagmulan nito, bakit ng aba “Chocolate Hills” ang tawag sa mga burol nito, at ano ng aba ang mga lugar na natatangi ;lamang sa Bohol.

Paano nga ba makakapunta sa Bohol?

          Sa una ay mukang mahirap makapunta sa Bohol pero napakadali lamang nito.

          Noong kami ay papunta sa Bohol mula sa Bataan, sumakay kami ng bus ng 30 minuto para makapunta sa daungan ng Orion para sumakay ng barko ng 50 minuto para makapunta sa daungan ng Manila. Pagkarating namin sa Manila sumakay kami ng bus ng tatlong beses para makapunta sa Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Ninoy Aquino at sumakay na ng eroplano sa loob ng isang oras para makapunta sa Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Bohol Panglao. Pagkarating namin doon, sumakay ulit kami ng bus ng 24 na minuto para makapunta sa kapitolyo ng Tagbilaran. Sa buong biyahe na iyon umabot ito ng higit pa sa anim na oras. Sa kabuuan gumastos kami ng P 3,131 para makapunta sa Bohol.

Saan nga ba maaaring mag check-in sa Tagbilaran, Bohol?

          Noong kami ay naghahanap ng matutulugan sa Tagbilaran, ang dami-daming mga pagpipilian, kung kaya naming  mag stay sa mamahaling hotel, doon talaga kami pupunta. Kami ay natulog sa La Panoramica Inn. isang linggo kami doon para malibot namin lahat at mapuntahan namin ang mga gusto naming puntahan.

Ano ang mga bagay na maaring gawin sa Bohol?

1.Bisitahin ang Chocolate Hills

          Ang Bohol ay binubuo ng mga magagandang tanawin kaya naman ito ay dinadayo ito ng mga turista na galling pa sa ibang bansa. Ang pinakakilalang pasyalan sa Bohol ay ang Chocolate Hills. Kay gandang tingnan ang mga maliliit nitong bundok na kulay tsokolate at halos perpektong pagkahubog ng hugis nito. Mayroong halos 1,268 na burol ang matatagpuan sa Bohol na kung titingnan mo sa view deck doon ay walang-hangganang mga kurba. Dito mor in malalanghap ang sariwang hangin na kay sarap sa pakiramdam. Nakakamangha na ang mga burol na ito ay nag-iiba ng kulay! Sila ay nagiging kulay berde sa panahon ng tag-ulan. Samantala, kulay tsokolate naman kapag tagtuyot.

2. Pagmasdan ang mga tarsier

          Tulad din ng Chocolate hills, shempre hindi mawawala sa paglalakbay na ito ang mga tarsier ng Bohol. Ang mga maliliit na tarsier na ito ay humahaba lamang ng 15 sentimetro at ito na ang pinakamahaba sa kanila. Makikita itong mga tarsier na ito sa isang santuwaryo para mapreserba ang mga uri neto. Sila ay sensitibo sa ingay at bawal din silang kuhanan ng litrato na may flash dahil baka sila ay magising nito at bawal din silang hawakan dahil sila ay maaaring maistress.

3. Bisitahin ang isla ng Panglao at magbabad sa dagat

          Maraming dalampasigan ang matatagpuan sa isla na ito at shempre kami ay nagtungo sa pinakasikat na dalampasigan, ang dalampasigan ng Alona. Ito ang nasa pinakatuktok ng mga dalampasigan sa isla ng Panglao. Dito makikita ang mga naggagandahang mga hotel, [pinakamasarap ng restawrant. Ito rin ay kilala sa mahaba nitong dalampasigan na puno ng puting buhangin at malinaw na tubig.

4. Pasukin ang kuweba ng Hinagdanan

          Noong una kaming nagpunta doon, ako ay natatakot pa dahil ako ay takot sa mga kuweba at talaga namang hndi ko maiwasang mag isip ng mga bagay an maaring mangyari sa akin sa loob non.

          Pero naging matapang ako at pumasok na kamio sa kuweba, nakapikit pa ako nung una pero noong nakita ko na ang kagandahang taglay nito, ako ay napanganga kasi ang lagi ng kuweiba sa loob, ang linis ng tubig at pwede kang manalamin sa tubig. Alam niyo ba na ang salitang "Hinagdanan" ay isang salitang Cebuano at ito ay tinawag din na Hinagdanan dahil aksidente daw itong nadiskubre ng isang magsasaka na naggawa ng hagdan para makita itong kuweba na ito.

          Habang papalabas na kami doon sa kuweba m,ay nakita akong kakaibang isada na doon ko lang nakita. Muka siyang tilapia pero mas maganda pa ang kulay niya roon, mas malaki ang mata at mas malaki, ito ang tinatawag nilang Katambak.

5. Kumain sa Heritage Crab House Seafoods Restaurant

          Syempre hindi mawawala sa paglalakbay ang pagkain! Ang Heritage Crab House Seafoods Restaurant na matatagpuan sa Tagbilaran City ay isa sa mga patok na kainan sa Bohol. Espesyal ang mga pagkaing-dagat tulad ng alimango, posit, hipon, lobsters, abalone at scalope. Maliban sa masasarap na pagkain kanilang inihahain ay matutuwa ka sa mga kakaibang antigong makikita mo sa kainan. Tuwing gabi ay mayroong banda na tumutugtog na nakakapagbigay ng nakakarelax na pakiramdam sa mga tao sa loob.

6. Bumili ng mga pasalubong

          Marami ring mga pasalubong ang aming nakita sa Bohol.

Peanut Kisses           Ang peanut Kisses ay isang Boholano recipe na kilala dahil sa kanyang hugis na kung saan ay naihahalintulad siya sa Chocolate Hills. Ito ay gawa sa mani at itlog na niluto hanggang sa ito’y maging malutong.

Calamay           Kahit na kalamay ay kilala sa buong bansa, wala pa ring tatalo sa Calamay na galing Jagna. Ito ay nakalagay sa balat ng niyog na tinapalan ng pulang bandana o pulang papel. Ito naman ay gawa sa malagkit, gatas ng niyog, at mani.

Broa

          Isang galyetas na mula sa Baclayon. Malambot ang tekstura na literal na natutunaw sa iyong bibig kapag ito’y iyong kinain. Ito ay magaan at malutong, perpekto para sa meryenda na may gatas, kape, o mainit na tsokolate.

Panglao is the perfect island to spend a few days or even a week just living life in the slow lane. When you feel a sudden burst of motivation to do something active, there are plenty idyllic spots for snorkeling, kayaking, and diving. During the low season, you can show up to Panglao without a booking and wander the beach looking for the best deal.

The Man-made forest of Bilar is a 2-kilometer stretch of mahogany trees that carpet the sloping ground where the municipality of Loboc meets Bilar. Travelers going to the Chocolate Hills from Loboc will not miss this.  The roots of the trees are beautiful to look at as they protrude from the ground and crawl over boulders and contour of the land, even reaching the sides of the road. Looking at them gives you the creeps. Like tentacles of a giant octopus, the roots seem to reach out and grasp the unwary passersby, as what happened in the “Lord of the Rings” movie.

After the forest, one passes two towns, the town of Bilar and Batuan, and arrives at Carmen town where the famous chocolate hills are sighted. Carmen is where you find hundreds of chocolate hills which are uniform in shape and size. A complex has been put up by the local government on top of the two highest hills in the area. The chocolate hills are the main Bohol tourist attraction. But before you get there, one passes the famous Baclayon church (the oldest church of Bohol), the Loboc church (the 2nd oldest church), the Loboc river, and then the man-made rainforest. One cannot help but be awed by such grandeurs!

I had a very smooth transaction with Joy, since the day I booked her we kept in touch and she helped me with all my queries and concerns about my upcoming trip.

She let me drive their Toyoto Innova. With it's appearance you'll still notice that it's still new, very well-maintained and has clean interiors. The car is fast and driving it is so smooth. We did not encounter any problems using it. Everything is automatic and it is a fuel efficient car so we were able to go to many places in Bohol without spending a lot in gas.

Maliban sa masasarap na pagkain kanilang inihahain ay matutuwa ka sa mga kakaibang antigong makikita mo sa kainan. Tuwing gabi ay mayroong banda na tumutugtog na nakakapagbigay ng nakakarelax na pakiramdam sa mga tao sa loob.

6. Bumili ng mga pasalubong

Maraming mga pasalubong ang aming nakita at binili sa Bohol.

Peanut Kisses

          Ang peanut Kisses ay isang Boholano recipe na kilala dahil sa kanyang hugis na kung saan ay naihahalintulad siya sa Chocolate Hills. Ito ay gawa sa mani at itlog na niluto hanggang sa ito’y maging malutong.

Calamay

          Kahit na kalamay ay kilala sa buong bansa, wala pa ring tatalo sa Calamay na galing Jagna. Ito ay nakalagay sa balat ng niyog na tinapalan ng pulang bandana o pulang papel. Ito naman ay gawa sa malagkit, gatas ng niyog, at mani.

Broa

          Isang galyetas na mula sa Baclayon. Malambot ang tekstura na literal na natutunaw sa iyong bibig kapag ito’y iyong kinain. Ito ay magaan at malutong, perpekto para sa meryenda na may gatas, kape, o mainit na tsokolate.

Itching for a new adventure these days? But still don’t know where to go? Don’t worry cause I’ll be showing you one of Philippines pride and gem of the south, Bohol.

Bohol is famous for chocolate hills, but there are other places to explore in this province.It is located in Central Visayas region. It is one of the popular tourist attraction because of its beaches, diving locations and resorts.

How to get there?

It’s my first time to be on a plane so here’s my mandatory shot :)

To get here, you need to take a flight from Manila going to Bohol in any local airlines. Be it Cebu Pacific, Air Asia or Philippine Airlines. Just watch out for their promos/seat sale/piso fare if you want a cheaper price.

As for us, we booked a ticket going to Cebu first (cause we’re going back to Cebu after this Bohol Trip) then rode a ferry (Ocean Jet) which cost P800.00 each/roundtrip.

Where to Stay?

You have a choice whether you want to stay in Tagbilaran or in Panglao island. As for us, we stayed in Bolod Beach Resort in Panglao.

Otherwise, you can check out Agoda or Booking.com for the best deals on other hotels, inns and resorts.

How to get around Bohol?

By arranged tours – If you want a hassle free trip or not a D-I-Y type of traveler, you can book an arranged tour beforehand. There’s ton of agencies which offers an affordable Bohol tour package . As for us, we choose Bohol Cebu Adventure Uysun Tours.

By motorcycle. There are a lot of rental shops in Tagbilaran and Panglao and you can rent a motorcycle for as low as $4~ (Php 200). Through this way, you will have enough freedom to go to any place you want in your own time.

By car. Car rentals are also possible and the rental shops are mainly found in Tagbilaran with starting cost of $31~ (Php 1,500).

By public transportation. There are tricycles, jeepneys, and buses that are very cheap and they can be found easily in the main streets. But they don’t typically have fixed schedules, so if you’re setting off from one far-off place to another and are pressed for time, it can be tough to hail one down. PLACES TO VISIT

BOHOL BEE FARM – This is where we took our lunch. Foods are pricey but we had no choice since we’re already hungry so we just ordered for a pizza and juice. You can try their organic restaurant and ice cream as well. Overall, the place was homey and cozy. Their staffs were very friendly and I just admired their beautiful garden.

Behind me is their souvenir shops wherein you can buy some of their delicacies.

  The most exciting part in this place is where we actually get to experience and see the BEES!

DAUIS CHURCH (Entrance Fee: NONE)

By the time we got there, the church is under renovation. Still we decided to take a photo inside.

PANGLAO WATCH TOWER

SHELL MUSEUM (Entrance Fee: P30 per person) The place was okay but humid, this is where you can find their collection of shells, but at their souvenir shop of  other products made from sea elements such as pearls.

  DAY 2 – Panglao Island Hopping  

Dolphin Watching

(Note: You should wake up atleast 5:30am so you can see the dolphins. It took us atleast 1 1/2 hours just to see them. I’m losing my hope that day but gladly, our tour guide was patient enough to roam the sea and find the wild dolphins.)

You can rent a boat for your island hopping tour. I forgot to ask them how much, as for us the boat its all ours! Yes, it’s a private boat. HAHAH :)

BALICASAG ISLAND (Marine Sanctuary Fee: P150/person) It’s a small circular, flat island where you can go snorkeling, swim and enjoy the beauty of the island especially for the sea lovers. The water is undeniably clear and rich in water resources. I love the vibrant colors underwater. Bring your own mask/snorkeling gears and aqua shoes if you don’t want to rent for a price of P500.00.

Unfortunately, we don’t have pictures derwater since I forgot to bring our camera :(

VIRGIN ISLAND – Virgin Island is clearly an attraction due to its long stretch of white sand beach during low tide which spans around 1 hectare. Trust me, the water here is as clear as Balicasag Island.

  DAY 3 -BOHOL COUNTRYSIDE TOUR

CHOCOLATE HILLS (Entrance Fee: P50/person) – Did you know the legend of this wonderful creation?  “They said that it’s a story story of two feuding giants who hurled rocks, boulders, and sand at each other. The fighting lasted for days, and exhausted the two giants. In their exhaustion, they forgot about their feud and became friends, but when they left they forgot to clean up the mess they had made during their battle, hence the Chocolate Hills.”

After you visit Chocolate hills, you may feel a bit tired. So I suggest, why not try their massage.
