How to Reach Yulla Kanda: Complete Travel Guide to the Serene Himalayan Gem
Nestled in the untouched beauty of Himachal Pradesh, Yulla Kanda is a hidden trekking gem known for its mystical lake, remote landscapes, and breathtaking views of the Kinnaur region. Located at an altitude of around 4,800 meters (15,750 feet), it is believed to be the highest lake in Himachal Pradesh and is often regarded as the “Abode of Lord Shiva.” Despite its beauty, Yulla Kanda remains largely unexplored — which adds to its spiritual and adventurous allure.
If you're wondering how to reach Yulla Kanda, this detailed guide will help you plan your journey from major cities, understand the route, and prepare for the trek.
Where is Yulla Kanda Located?
Yulla Kanda lies in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, near the village of Yulla. The nearest town for access and logistics is Poo (or Pooh), a small town located on National Highway 5, roughly 70 km before Kaza and close to the Indo-Tibetan border.
How to Reach Yulla Kanda – Step-by-Step Guide Step 1: Reach Shimla or Reckong Peo (Base Towns)Option A: Via Shimla (Popular Route)
By Air: Nearest airport – Jubbarhatti Airport, Shimla
By Train: Nearest major railhead – Kalka (then take the Kalka–Shimla toy train or bus)
By Road: Regular buses and taxis available from Delhi/Chandigarh to Shimla
From Shimla, continue your journey by road toward Reckong Peo, the district headquarters of Kinnaur (approx. 220 km / 8–10 hours).

Jio Is Still a Disruptor, 5G in India Is a Few Years Away: Ookla Co-Founder
Tumblr media
The Indian telecom sector is going through a tough phase nowadays. While players such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are struggling hard to bear their long-standing losses, the government in its Union Budget 2020 tabled on Saturday hiked the revenue estimate from the debt-ridden telecom sector by over two times to Rs. 1,33,000 crores for the year 2020-21. This is primarily on account of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues that major telcos need to pay to survive in the country. Ookla Co-Founder and General Manager Doug Suttles sees such an environment quite challenging for telecom operators but an exciting one for consumers. “This market, as I've always said, is one of the most interesting to follow because it's so different than most other markets,” said Suttles, in a telephonic conversation with Gadgets 360. “And with the recent happenings with the AGR dues coming up and the attempts to push 5G trials all at once, it's getting even more complicated than it was even a few months ago.” Matured players including Airtel, BSNL, and Vodafone Idea are finding it difficult to convert their user growth into profits. This is, however, unlike Reliance Jio that entered the race a few years back — with the soft launch of its network in December 2015 and public debut in September 2016 — and emerged as the only contender achieving fruitful results. Despite being the youngest entrant, the Mumbai-based operator that has the backing of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited has managed to become the largest mobile network in India. As per the data provides in the earning results for the quarter ending December 31, Jio is claimed to have over 370 million subscribers. This reflects a net addition of 14.8 million subscribers since the end of the last quarter in September 30. On the income front, the operator posted a 62.5 percent year-over-year (YoY) rise in its net profit to Rs. 1,350 crores for the December quarter. Jio made its initial success by bringing affordable data-powered prepaid plans, though it's been offering tariffs in line with other operators of late. Nevertheless, Suttles believes that it still has an upper hand over the competition. “I think it's still a disruptor, for sure,” he stated while elaborating how Jio has established a distinguished presence in the market. “It's interesting because of the backing behind Jio that is a large entity with a lot of funding and they can do things differently. They have the advantage of not having a legacy network to deal with… They don't have old gear to replace and upgrade. It's a benefit, though they will deal with this, once 5G becomes a real thing in India. They have to go through and figure out how to either abandon old gear how to upgrade what's there.”
4G over 5G
Markets including the US, China, and South Korea have already made a shift to 5G technologies. However, India hasn't seen its real deployments so far. Suttles underlined that the country is even yet to leverage 4G completely. “I don't think that I can justify by saying that 5G would matter at this point — not until whatever underlying problems are fixed that are preventing 4G from producing the kinds of performance that is expected,” the executive told Gadgets 360. India to Take Big 5G Leap in 2020 but Mass Adoption Far Away According to Ookla's Speedtest Global Index, India lags even behind Nepal and Pakistan in terms of mobile Internet speed. The country is claimed to have an average download speed on mobile devices of 11.46Mbps that brings it to 128th position globally. In contrast, Nepal is reported to be on 127th rank with an average mobile download speed of 12.06Mbps and Pakistan is said to be on 117th position with an average speed of 14.85Mbps. Having said that, 4G availability in India is higher at 87.9 percent when compared with the 58.9 percent reported in Pakistan. “There are too many different issues at hand right now to really even consider 5G be real,” emphasised Suttles. “So if I were to guess, it's a few years away before you truly see prevalent 5G. But there's a lot of problems to solve between now and then.”
Tumblr media
Ookla Co-Founder and General Manager Doug Suttles sees many difficulties in 5G India rollout Photo Credit: Ookla   Although the delay is quite certain as telcos are currently busy finding ways to generate more revenue and improve their network quality, Suttles noted that it would ultimately be better for India to not become an early market for 5G. “There's a lot of learnings to be had from other countries and other places building 5G networks and figuring out how to do it right, most efficiently with the right price, so that India can then take it advantage of that,” he presumed. “So it's the time when the market can further invest perhaps in making the 4G network work right and then build the 5G network when the time's right and when everything is known.”
Jio as an early 5G network in India
Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea last month reportedly submitted their applications to participate in 5G trials in India. These operators are also working with equipment manufacturers such as Ericsson, Huawei, and Samsung for some time to understand the market dynamics of the next-generation wireless technology. But nonetheless, Suttles considers that it could be Jio would emerge as an early 5G network in the country. “This is a guess obviously as I don't have any inside knowledge, but I would say Jio certainly has an advantage,” he pronounced. “Their network is more modern, and they don't have the same backlog of AGR dues situation to deal with. I think that they actually just paid their dues. So they're at an advantage, position-wise, to go forward with it.” Indian Masses Will Have to Wait 5-6 Years for a True 5G Experience The data provided by Ookla for the second and third quarter of 2019 showed Jio as a clear leader when it comes to 4G availability in India, while Airtel came second followed by Idea and Vodafone. However, the telco often faces quality complaints from users that it needs to address before shifting towards 5G. TRAI doesn't provide better results than Speedtest Ookla's Speedtest is one of the renowned benchmark apps in the telecom sector. But alongside, Speedtest, solutions such as OpenSignal and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) backed MySpeed are there to help analyse Indian networks. A raging debate on efficacy and results of speed test apps took place in the recent past. Some discrepancies between the numbers posted by Ookla and TRAI can also clearly be seen. However, Suttles claimed that the solution provided by his company is the best -- even better than what the regulator offers natively. “Our infrastructure, the number of servers, and the capability of those servers are just massive compared to TRAI, compared to any competitor,” he said. “The number of servers that we have to test to in India is much larger than anywhere else. So we have to have the capacity to measure.” He added by saying, “We've been doing this for nearly two decades. We have a large team that's dedicated to making sure that our test can truly measure the capacity of a network. Where others are just downloading some files from web servers or just trying to estimate, we have a much more scientific and robust way of measuring networks where we use many concurrent connections, the server side of what we do is just as intelligent as the client side.” Ookla in its recent reports have shown Airtel as the fastest 4G mobile network in India, whereas TRAI's MySpeed shows Jio as the clear winner in terms of 4G download speeds in the country. “I don't think anyone else have these resources to do it, including the regulator in India. We work with regulators all over the world, we work with TRAI, and we're happy to help them and happy to show how we do things. But it's still a very complicated thing to accomplish,” Suttles asserted. Read the full article

5G vs 4G - Everything You Need To Know
5G is the newest mobile network that's replacing the current 4G technology by providing a number of improvements in speed, coverage, and reliability. The primary focus and reason for needing an upgraded network are to support the growing number of devices that demand internet access, many of them requiring so much bandwidth in order to function normally that 4G simply doesn't cut it anymore. Also, focus on Network Installation Services based on 5G
Tumblr media
5G uses different kinds of antennas, operates on different radio spectrum frequencies, connects many more devices to the internet, minimizes delays, and delivers ultrafast speeds.
5G Works Differently Than 4G
A new type of mobile network wouldn’t be new if it wasn’t, in some way, fundamentally different than existing ones. One fundamental difference is 5G’s use of unique radio frequencies to achieve what 4G networks cannot. The radio spectrum is broken up into bands, each with unique features as you move up into higher frequencies. 4G networks use frequencies below 6 GHz, but 5G uses extremely high frequencies in the 30 GHz to 300 GHz range.
5G Spectrum and Frequencies
These high frequencies are great for a number of reasons, one of the most important beings that they support a huge capacity for fast data. Not only are they less cluttered with existing cellular data, and so can be used in the future for increasing bandwidth demands, they're also highly directional and can be used right next to other wireless signals without causing interference.
This is very different than 4G towers that fire data in all directions, potentially wasting both energy and power to beam radio waves at locations that aren't even requesting access to the internet. 5G also uses shorter wavelengths, which means that antennas can be much smaller than existing antennas while still providing precise directional control. Since one base station can utilize even more directional antennas, it means that 5G can support over 1,000 more devices per meter than what’s supported by 4G.
What all of this means is that 5G networks, when they become widely available, will be able to beam ultrafast data to a lot more users, with high precision and little latency.
However, most of these super-high frequencies work only if there’s a clear, direct line-of-sight between the antenna and the device receiving the signal. What’s more is that some of these high frequencies are easily absorbed by humidity, rain, and other objects, meaning that they don’t travel as far.
It’s for these reasons that we can expect lots of strategically placed antennas to support 5G, either really small ones in every room or building that needs it or large ones positioned throughout a city; maybe even both. There will also probably be many repeating stations to push the radio waves as far as possible to provide long-range 5G support. Another difference between 5G and 4G is that 5G networks can more easily understand the type of data being requested, and are able to switch into a lower power mode when not in use or when supplying low rates to specific devices, but then switch to a higher powered mode for things like HD video streaming.
5G Is a Lot Faster Than 4G
Bandwidth refers to the amount of data that can be moved (uploaded or downloaded) through a network over a given time. This means that under ideal conditions when there are very few if any other devices or interferences to affect the speed, a device could theoretically experience what’s known as peak speeds.
From a peak speed perspective, 5G is 20 times faster than 4G. This means that during the time it took to download just one piece of data with 4G (like a movie), the same could have been downloaded 20 times over a 5G network. Looking at it another way: you could download close to 10 movies before 4G could deliver even the first half of one!
5G Speed: How to Understand the Numbers
5G has a minimum peak download speed of 20 Gb/s while 4G sits at just 1 Gb/s. These numbers refer to devices that are not moving, like in fixed wireless access (FWA) setup where there’s a direct wireless connection between the tower and the user’s device. Speeds vary once you start moving, like in a car or train.
However, these aren't usually referred to as the “normal” speeds that devices experience, since there are often many factors that affect bandwidth. Instead, it’s more important to look at the realistic speeds or the average measured bandwidth.
5G isn't widely available yet, so we can’t comment on repeated real-world experiences, but it has already been tested numerous times and continually shows every day download speeds of 100 Mb/s, at a minimum (Verizon's at-home 5G service delivers data at 300 Mb/s up to 1 Gb/s!). There are lots of variables that affect speed, but 4G networks often show an average of less than 10 Mb/s, which makes 5G at least 10 times faster than 4G in the real world.
When Will 5G Come Out?
BSNL is One of the Top Telecom Company In India, will be launch 5G service first in Country. world over people are talking to launch 5G by June 2020. But, there are some expectations that we may see 5G (launch) in 2019 itself

DIGITAL INDIA: POWER TO EMPOWER
Tumblr media
The global economy is presently going through the fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as the Digital Revolution. This revolution is changing not only the way we interact with machines, but also how we live, work and interact with each other. Thus, for surviving this revolution, businesses around the world are opting for the digital road. India too, has witnessed the need for this transformation. Thus, the use of digital technology is continuously being promoted by the government and has seen a rise lately. The digital technology has an important role in increasing the pace of India’s economic growth. This creates an opportunity for the country to make a just and equitable society. India can reach the front rank of nations with the help of technology. The Digital India program was launched by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi on July 1, 2015 and since then has made significant progress with various initiatives launched under this initiative. The focus has been on three key aspects: in the creation of pervasive national digital infrastructure, in the electronic delivery of public services and financial assistance to citizens, and in enhancing digital awareness and literacy. The Digital Infrastructure is characterised as the ability to store and exchange data across a centralised communication system. Commonly, digital infrastructure includes internet, fixed broadband, mobile telecommunication, data centres, cloud computing, user devices, etc. In India, the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) sector has a vital role in the digital infrastructure requirement to confirm availability of telecom, broadband, computers and software across the country. The country ranked 134th in ICT Development Index in 2017. The Digital India scheme intend to increase the reach of digital infrastructure through an extensive broadband and mobile network and provide services to citizens. Under this many initiatives were launched which goes beyond physical infrastructure and address software and security infrastructure as well. Digital services are the second most important component of the program. The government has taken various steps to develop and provide digitised services for the citizens. Services include National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) that focuses on one aspect of electronic governance, move towards cashless economy, virtual network operators (VNOs) to set up operations in India, etc. During the first quarter of 2019, India became the world’s fastest-growing market for mobile applications witnessing growth in downloads of various applications. BharatNet – Also known as Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL), intends to offer broadband access to around 250,000-gram panchayats (GPs) through a network of Optical Fibre Cable. As of November 2019, 3.8 lakh kilometre OFC has been laid out in the country, which has connected 1.4 lakh GPs. Wi-fi hotspots have been installed in 44,786-gram panchayats and 32 post offices are utilising BharatNet connectivity via BSNL. The total funds allocated by Universal Service Obligation Fund to Bharat Broadband Network Limited under BharatNet project include Rs 20,431 crore (US$ 2.92 billion) out of which Rs 10,286 crore (US$ 1.47 billion) were for phase I and Rs 10,145 crore (US$ 1.45 billion) for phase II. Common Service Centres (CSCs) - Common Service Centre is an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India. These are the access points for delivery of numerous electronic services to villages in India, thus providing support to a digitally and financially inclusive society. At present there are around 2.75 lakhs centres across the country covering all the Gram Panchayats. The main participant of the CSC scheme is the Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) and they are known as CSC operators. A grid of 2.70 lakh VLEs, of which 1.63 lakh are in Gram Panchayats actively offering several online public utility and financial services to citizens, quality healthcare, apart from encouraging entrepreneurship and employment in villages and smaller towns across the country. Aadhaar – Digital identity has been an important system to create a single unique identification document or number that would link all people’s lives together across their accounts at various businesses. Around 1.21 billion residents are connected with the Aadhaar identity, thus, can be considered as world’s largest biometric identity system. This is a 12-digit unique number which is based on the demographic and biometric data of the person. Data is collected by UIDAI that provides efficient and transparent governance to the people of India through Aadhaar. This is accepted as identity proof across the country and has a lifetime validity. There is direct benefit of it as LPG subsidy amount get directly in the bank account when the Aadhaar is linked with consumer number. Passport is made available within 10 days. Pension and Provident Fund will also be given to the account holder who has registered their Aadhaar number with respective departments. National Cyber Coordination Centre (NCCC) – The centre is set up by the Ministry for electronics and IT providing protection against the potential threat to the Indian cyberspace.  NCCC will offer a structured system and enable coordination among various agencies by sharing with them the meta-data from cyberspace for taking action to mitigate cybersecurity threats. In November 2019, National Cybersecurity Co-ordinator’s office, in collaboration with Data Security Council of India (DSCI), opened the first national cyber technology repository portal, TechSagar. The main enablers for development of various digital infrastructure include usage of cloud computing and analytics. The government plans to make use of cloud computing technologies to allow integration between various departments and delivery services to the citizens. One such launched service is DigiLocker. This is kind of virtual locker that intends to minimise the usage of physical documents and allow sharing across various departments. DigiLocker reduces the chances of losing an original document and ease the burden of carrying all documents in physical forms all the time. It is vastly accepted by all government and non-government departments. The analytics is used by a data repository called the Electronic Transaction Aggregation and Analysis Layer (e-taal), which provides real time transaction data of citizens with various departments and agencies of the government along with a quick analysis of the information in graphical form.  The real-time data help in making decision by various government agencies. Another such application is MyGov, a citizen-centric platform that empower people to connect with the government and contribute towards good governance. DoT asks MTNL to outline long-term roadmap as part of revival talks: CMD
Latest Updates - M. N. & Associates - NEW DELHI: As part of the ongoing revival talks, telecom department has asked the ailing MTNL to outline a long-term roadmap on how the PSU plans to compete with other players that have a pan-India footprint, the operator's chairman said.Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has been incurring losses for a number of years and was declared as incipient sick as per the Department of Public Enterprises guidelines.A revival plan of MTNL, prepared by its consultant, is currently under consideration in Department of Telecom (DoT)."An internal committee on revival, too, has listed out various options and the finance branch of DoT has raised specific queries including what should be the long-term roadmap for MTNL, given that all other players now have pan-India operation," MTNL Chief P K Purwar said.MTNL has responded to the queries raised by the DoT, Purwar added."DoT's finance branch has said it should not be a one-off transaction... that it should be a long-term view from the ministry to take MTNL forward, in a scenario where everyone is a pan-India player," he noted.Bruised by a fierce competition from private sector players, MTNL's losses were pegged at Rs 2,893 crore in 2014-15, Rs 2,005 crore in 2015-16, and Rs 2,970 crore in 2016-17. MTNL's debt exceeds Rs 17,000 crore.Purwar said a long-term direction for MTNL has to first take into account issues ailing the company."There are three ailing factors for the company. One, is the employee wage bill. Secondly, the debt issues need to be taken care of, so that the company can work efficiently. The third, is the investment in network to create newer and modernised infrastructure," he said.Beyond that, there has to be a "top level view" on whether a company in mobile or fixed line service can function on two circle operations -- Delhi and Mumbai -- when all other operators have "pan India traffic and pan India tariff"."It has to be about making the company suitable, such that pan India operation can be worked out...either through operational synergy with BSNL or entity-level synergy," Purwar said but quickly added that a call on such issues is for the government to take."But, I will say synergy is certainly required for me. As a long term player, being present in telecom market in just two circles is not a viable proposition. Viability needs to be created by a synergistic approach, and BSNL, too, has a similar problem because they are not present in Delhi and Mumbai, which are two prime circles," he said.Once a household name, MTNL, which provides services in Delhi and Mumbai, has been relegated to a distant fourth operator in the market alongside Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, another telecom PSU.This was when, one billion subscribers-plus mobile market in India - incidentally world's second largest after China, is growing exponentially as private operators like Vodafone Idea Ltd, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio compete fiercely to lure subscribers with rock-bottom data tariffs and attractive offers. The government in the past has categorically ruled out any plans to merge BSNL and MTNL, but has time and again talked of strategic plan for promoting synergy among the two state-owned telecom firms."Merger is a promoter's call not a manager's call. As a manager, I feel that operational synergy has to be there. If not, it will be difficult for both the organisations to continue to be competitive in the market in the long run...Because, you are creating a stack of cost to each other from customer point of view, while other operators which are a single entity don't have such costs," Purwar said. New Innovation and Technology 1. Connectivity to enable the trusted digital enterprise The manufacturing industry is on the cusp of the 4th wave of transformation that holds the promise of a step change in productivity. Industrial IoT business models are being defined with increased flexibility, co-operative human-machine interaction and the use of data analytics to identify trends and dynamic system relationships that were previously hidden or inaccessible. 2. Bringing LED solutions to market Although it’s 15 years since LED lighting made its debut, take-up is accelerating across all areas of lighting, helped by its lower power consumption, longer lifespan, increased robustness and faster switching capabilities. 3. An eye for detail is needed when choosing the display technology for your next application A color display is hard to beat in any application and continued price erosion means it is becoming commercially viable to use graphical color displays in a wider range of applications. 4. Powerful telescopes bring us closer to the Big Bang Humankind has always wondered what secrets the universe was hiding in its starry depths and striven to understand how we fit into the bigger picture. This curiosity is still strong, as demonstrated by the number of powerful telescopes that have either been built recently or are under construction. 5. Is industry ready for 5G? just less than a month ago, the Chancellor, Philip Hammond, used his budget speech to make a case for 5G, the next-generation mobile technology and promised to invest £16million in a series of trials and to support research into the development of technology to underpin its deployment. 6. Revolutionising networking technology The networking world has largely been defined by the development of fixed function chips. While these devices have been one of the means by which data rates have increased, this has been achieved at the expense of configurability. 7. The choices involved in adding IP support to embedded systems The tentacles of the internet are reaching further into the domain of deeply embedded systems that used, at most, to be attached to simple field buses. Although the internet may stop short of ‘smart’ light bulbs that use Zigbee or Bluetooth to communicate, more organizations are looking at supporting the Internet Protocol (IP) directly in sensor nodes and smart actuators. 8. Track sure sensor system to transform rail networks Monitoring the rail network is a costly and time-consuming endeavor, but the University of Huddersfield’s Institute of Railway Research (IRR) has developed a new sensor system that could transform the way in which networks are maintained by turning rail vehicles into track monitors.
